As C Jokic and M McGillivray were ill and N Thomas was injured, they were replaced as per the stewards Summary.
 
Race 1: THE HUNTERS Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
BAILEY BOO – Raced wide throughout. Bumped and forced wider near the 500m. H Richardson advised stewards that in her opinion the gelding did not handle the tight turning circuit. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CRYPTO TYCOON – Trainer D Forster advised steward of a change of tactics as it was the intention to ride in a more forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
VICTORY LIGHTS – Improved into tight running near the 500m, bumped with BAILEY BOO and had to be steadied.
 
MUIRLEA MAGIC – Became fractious in the barriers, examined by the vet and cleared to start. Over-raced approaching the 800m and raced greenly throughout the event. Trainer B Costello was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings’ racing manners. J Stanley was dislodged after the winning post when MUIRLEA MAGIC shied, was examined by the Qld Ambulance Service and cleared of any injuries.
 
SUPER DUCK – As N Fazackerley was to be overweight he was subsequently replaced by L Miller. Jockey Fazackerley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR190(3) and was fined the sum of $200.
 
SILK SASH – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Improved onto heels and steadied near the 700m.
 
MY DAY – Inconvenienced approaching the 800m and forced wider for a short distance. Inconvenienced on entering the home straight when VICTORY LIGHTS shifted out to improve.
 
LOVE LOCH - Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
 
Race 2: SEARLE GARDEN PRODUCTS PRINCESS OF KILCOY QTIS 2YO & 3YO Fillies Maide 1200 metres
 
Following the running of this event and due to continued rain fall, the track was downgraded to Soft 5.

BETTER BELIEVE IT – Shifted in and away from PIXIE ANN near the 900m and lost ground after making contact with the inside running rail. Continued to lay in throughout the event particularly when under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage.  
 
LIPSTICK LIES – Steadied from the heels of BETTER BELIEVE IT when that horse lost ground near the 900m.
 
ROAR HIDE – Raced wide during the early stages and eased down over the concluding stages. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainers’ representative indicated that in light of today’s performance the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
WITH DIAMONDS – Apprentice B Wheeler advised stewards that in his opinion the filly did not handle the rain affected track conditions.
 
MISHANI MYSTIQUE – Began awkwardly. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
Race 3: TAB - KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CRAIGLEA LA VIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
GERRYMANDER – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
SECRET QUALITY – Over-raced during the middle stages. Raced in restricted room when rounding the home turn.
 
ALPHA JANE – Slow to begin and failed to muster early speed. Obliged to alter course near the 100m in order to secure clear running.
 
Race 4: GOLDEN SHORES RETIREMENT LIFESTYLE Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
SUPER LEAGUE – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn before a short distance later shifting out to secure clear running.
 
BONNIE AND CLYDE (NZ) – Severely checked when tightened for room near the 900m and lost significant ground. Apprentice L Barr, the rider of ROMAN REIGN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR 131(a) in that near the 900m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of EMPEROR’S SECRET taking that runner in and across the rightful running of BONNIE AND CLYDE causing that horse to be severely checked. Apprentice L Barr’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 15 days to commence midnight 6/6/23 and to conclude midnight 21/6/23. Checked when tightened for room near the 800m when CUDDLES shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
CUDDLES – Laid in near the 800m tightening the running of BONNIE AND CLYDE causing that horse to be checked. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horses’ racing manners.
 
EMPEROR'S SECRET – Checked when tightened for room near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a significant laceration to the off hind leg, consistent with having been galloped on. Trainer M Palmer was advised that he must provide a vet certificate for EMPEROR’S SECRET prior to next start.
 
SATURDAY GLORY – Slow to begin. Severely check from heels near the 900m.
 
ROMAN REIGN – When questioned regarding the improved performance of ROMAN REIGN, trainer I Livingstone indicated that the mare was returning from a 12-month spell and had performed well in a recent jump out, and with this in mind the stable expected a forward showing.
 
FASTNET JACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
BETTER THAN BOOZE – Laid out under pressure during the early stages of the home straight.
 
AURORA DANCER (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPARKY GIRL – Underwent a pre-race vet examination after competing at Gatton on June 1, and was cleared to take its place in the field. Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: KEITH BEAVIS & CARL BARTELS MEMORIAL KILCOY CUP BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1200 metres
 
HARD LANDING – Laid in under pressure in the home straight before easing from the heels of WINE NOT ROSES over the concluding stages.
 
SUILVEN – Steadied near the 1100m when tightened for room between DRATINI, which shifted out and HARD LANDING, which shifted in slightly. Approaching the 100m, improved onto the heels of GAMBOA before shifting out to secure clear running.
 
MISHANI FRAUDSTER – Wide for the majority of the event. Forced wider passing the 400m when HARD LANDING shifted out to improve.
 
BROCKY – Wide throughout.
 
DRATINI – Checked near the 1000m when tightened for room between DE MANARA and HARD LANDING, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Steadied when obliged to race in restricted room to the inside of HARD LANDING near the 800m.
 
DE MANARA - Trainer D Forster advised steward of a change of tactics as it was the intention to ride in a more forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
 
Race 7: GOLDEN SHORES HERVEY BAY BENCHMARK 58 Handicap1500 metres
 
CRITICAL THINKER – Made the 1300m turn wide.
 
KISEKI MAN – Blundered at the 1300m crossing. Inconvenienced when rounding the home turn and held up for a short distance thereafter.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Began awkwardly. When rounding the home turn was inconvenienced and steadied to avoid the heels of CRITICAL THINKER, which shifted out.
 
SKILLED ARTIST – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn.
 
HEAR HEAR – Raced wide during the early and middle stages before weakening from the 500m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Hay was advised that the gelding’s nomination would be refused from TAB meetings until its form improves at non-Tab venues.
 
 
Race 8: BEAVIS & BARTELS FAMILIES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1900 metres
 
SARODEC – Stood flat-footed and lost significant ground. Trainer A Simpson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
BARTALUMBA – Checked from heels when the pace slackened near the 1500m before shifting wider on the track and ridden forward to settle outside the lead approaching the 1300m. B Wheeler, rider of HELL OF A PRINCE, was reprimanded under AR131(d) for excessively slowing the speed of the race in this incident.   
 
SEERESS – Declared a late scratching at 12:44pm due to transport difficulties.
 
CHAYSE 'N' NOAH (NZ) – Trainer V Venkaya advised steward of a change of tactics as it was the intention to ride in a more forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
SECRET KING – Forced wider near the 1500m. Checked near the 400m when tightened for room by FEND OFF, which shifted in. Apprentice S Willis, the rider of FEND OFF, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that when leaving the 400m she allowed her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SECRET KING causing that horse to be checked. Apprentice S Willis’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 10/6/23 until midnight 18/6/23.
 
FEND OFF (NZ) – Forced wider passing the 1500m and raced wide from that point onwards.
