GENERAL
 
Trainer J. Bellamy was fined $200 pursuant to LR 68(1) for failing to scratch GRAND CRUSADER (Race 5) by the prescribed time. 
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1: 11 HOPETOUN PARK – M. Hellyer +1kg (55kg)
Race 3: 10 PIMPERNEL – M. Hellyer +1kg (55kg)
Race 5: 12 PRIDE OF NASHVILLE – C. Taylor +0.5kg (56kg)
Race 8: 9 WOOLMAR – D. Boche + 0.5kg (54.5kg)
 
Trainer J. Bellamy was fined $200 pursuant to LR 68(1) for failing to scratch GRAND CRUSADER (Race 5) by the prescribed time. 
 
 
 
Race 1: KRC MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT DAY MAIDEN HANDICAP   1500 Metres

WHAT DID YOU SAY – Shifted out at the start and bumped SHOT GLASS. Near the 1400m, appeared to have been galloped on by SHOT GLASS which was over racing. Approaching the home turn, momentarily raced in restricted room when MONTEVECCHIO laid in. A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the left hind and to have lost its left hind plate. 
 
THE JEAN GINA – Apprentice R. Thorburn reported his mount hung out rounding the home turn.
 
CARAMELFUDGESUNDAE – Near the 1200m, momentarily raced ungenerously and shifted wider for a short distance. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
SHOT GLASS – Hampered between runners on jumping and became unbalanced. Over raced during the early stages. Near the 600m whilst weakening, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between HE IS THE KISS and HOPETOUN PARK when SHE’S HELLBENT shifted out. Apprentice R. O’Connell, rider of SHE’S HELLBENT, was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding in this incident.

HE IS THE KISS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

SHE'S HELLBENT – Bumped at the start by SHOT GLASS.
 
HOPETOUN PARK – Near the 1200m, steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of WHAT DID YOU SAY which shifted in and momentarily shifted wider. Carried wider near the 600m when SHE’S HELLBENT shifted out.
 
MONTEVECCHIO – Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 2: THANK YOU KILCOY BEAUTY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE       800 Metres
 
HELLO PUNTERS – Shifted out at the start and bumped with SORT OF IN LOVE. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PRINCE PHOENIX  – Raced wide for the majority.
 
PROPAGANDA – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.
 
GOING MY WAY – Contacted the barrier partition on jumping.
 
SORT OF IN LOVE – Hampered between runners at the start. Raced wide for the majority. Trainer D. Stanbridge was reprimanded pursuant to AR 106(2) for presenting SORT OF IN LOVE to the mounting yard with the incorrect gear (blinkers instead of visors).
 
TOP ROSE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.

VALADORE – Permission was granted for the filly to race without a cross-over noseband.
 
I'LLTELLYOUI'MIN – Shifted in at the start and bumped with SORT OF IN LOVE. Near the 600m, carried wider and was inconvenienced when SORT OF IN LOVE laid out.

 
Race 3: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP   1900 Metres

BRAVE BOY – Raced wide from the 1200m.
 
CHANGE THE DEEL – Slow to begin. Jockey S. Cormack reported the gelding didn’t handle the tight turning track. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right hind leg. Trainer P. Minter was advised CHANGE THE DEEL would require veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialling again. 
 
TWILIGHT STEPS – Raced wide from the 1200m. Cast the near fore plate.  
 
SECURITY ADVISOR – Near the 1800m, steadied from the heels of HELL OF A PRINCE. Raced wide for the majority.
 
GREEN MEADOWS – Near the 1200m, steadied from heels. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey L. Tilley reported the gelding did not appreciate today’s track conditions.
 
BORN TO BE ALIVE – Bumped at the start and carried out onto BATTLESPACE.
 
KATERINI – Began awkwardly.

PIMPERNEL – Shifted out at the start and bumped BORN TO BE ALIVE.
 
BUDDY'S TALE – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.

Following the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Good (3).
 

Race 4: SEASONS GREETINGS FROM KRC - TIS THE SEASON MAIDEN PLATE          1200 Metres

BAD BOY BOONE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
JE REVE – Trainer L. Anderson was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
SET FOR LIFE – Severely hampered at the start. Leaving the 800m, momentarily tightened and raced in restricted room to the inside of DARE TO LOVE which laid in and again shortly thereafter approaching the 600m. Jockey D. Boche, rider of DARE TO LOVE, was advised to exercise greater care. Laid out rounding the home turn.

DARE TO LOVE – Trainer L. Richardson was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Bumped with SUMMER READY at the start. Laid in near the 800m and again near the 600m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHE'S GOT IT – Shifted in at the start.

SUMMER READY – Bumped with DARE TO LOVE at the start.

KENNY THE BAKER – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, Jockey L. Tilley stated that his instructions were to attempt to lead as the gelding performs better when able to dictate from a leading position, however, from the wide barrier he was obliged to make use of KENNY THE BAKER and unable to obtain the lead settling in a position behind the leaders. He added that KENNY THE BAKER was under pressure from the 800m, commenced to give ground and was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D. Vandyke advised that it is the intention that KENNY THE BAKER would now be leaving his stable.
 
RAZOR'S MAGIC – Shifted out at the start.

ASTERN POWERS – Approaching the 600m, obliged to steady from the heels of RAZOR'S MAGIC which shifted in. Apprentice B. Baker was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
BATTLE WORTHY  – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5: PETER BOYCE OAM COLTS, GELDING & ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP          1200 Metres

GIGGY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running over the final 100m.

LETS DANCE JANDY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

THE IMMORTALS – Apprentice A. Heinrich was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(c) for using her whip on a runner when out of contention.
 
BEE EXACT – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice R O’Connell stated that on leaving the 600m, his mount was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure placing him at a disadvantage.

PRIDE OF NASHVILLE – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey C. Taylor reported his saddle slipped shortly after the start and the horse was inclined to lay in throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B. Gill was advised a warning would be placed on PRIDE OF NASHVILLE for its racing manners for laying in throughout.


Race 6: IKON ELECTRICAL FILLIES & MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP      1200 Metres

HUSSY EMPRESS – Inclined to lay out throughout various stages of the event.
 
BRAVARO – Bumped near the 800m with TAKARA STAR. Leaving the 700m, shifted in and bumped HUSSY EMPRESS, then shifted out and bumped with TAKARA STAR. Jockey S. Sheargold reported his mount didn’t appreciate the tight turning track.
 
MONAZEL – Began awkwardly.
 
TAKARA STAR – Bumped with BRAVARO near the 800m. Bumped near the 700m and became unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PRETTY LITTLE LASS – Trainer P. Jenkins was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TIDLER'S WISH – Slow to begin.
 
SONIC ARROW – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
ANAISA – Shifted out at the start. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 7: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP        1500 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed by approximately seven (7) minutes due to BOKUDEN undergoing a re-saddle upon arrival to the barriers and SLIPSTREAMING (NZ) undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination after receiving farrier attention to the off hind plate and was subsequently cleared to start. The start was further delayed when SLIPSTREAMING (NZ) broke through the barriers and was pulled up a short distance later and was deemed cleared to start by the on-course veterinarian.
 
The start was further delayed when EAST WEST MISS burrowed under the front of the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4:10pm. Representative for the M. Currie stable, J. Leach was advised that EAST WEST MISS would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate and veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on EAST WEST MISS to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st - MAN IN THE MIRROR – 30c win, 17c place.
2nd - EARLSTON – 26c place.
3rd - BACCARAT ROUGE – 24c place.

BOKUDEN – Began awkwardly.

BACCARAT ROUGE – Hampered on jumping. Laid in passing the 400m before being awkwardly placed on the heels of the weakening MUSSEL LINES and was held up for some distance.
 
MISHANI EMPIRE – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 8: LADBROKES MEGA MULTI CHRISTMAS CUP CLASS 3 HANDICAP           1500 Metres
 
HOKKAIDO (NZ) – Slow to begin and lost ground. Laid out near the 400m.

LONDON POINT (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
OAKFIELD STORM – Raced wide for the majority.
 
WOOLMAR – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly. Commenced to weaken from the …….Laid out rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
PROMETIO MAS – Slow to begin.
