GENERAL
 
Due to the forecast weather in the region, this meeting was run under the protocols of the Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
 
As jockey A. Allen was indisposed, he was initially replaced by K. Zechner on BUBBLE WARRIOR in Race 1. However, due to transport difficulties, K. Zechner was unable to attend and subsequently replaced by S. Cormack.   
 
Trainer J. Johnston was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late rider declaration of E. Molloy on GALACTIC LEGEND in Race 3.
 

RACE 1: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS MAIDEN PLATE        1200 Metres
 
ATHOL MAC – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
LEGAL CAUSE – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and was cleared to start.  
 
BUBBLE WARRIOR – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
HAPPY WINS – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
SHAKEN MARTINI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DOING IT – Inclined to lay in during the early and middle stages. Rider T. Brooker reported her mount was inclined to lay in and contacted the running rail near the 600m. Rider T. Brooker was reminded of her obligations regarding her whip use on a runner out of contention.

HANAA BOY – Near the 850m, momentarily steadied from the heels of HAPPY WINS (M. Hellyer) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Rider M. Hellyer was advised to exercise greater care. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing clinical signs of heat stress and was treated by the oncourse veterinarian.  
 
 
RACE 2: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP      800 Metres
 
BAD FOREST – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
JAIN – Blundered on jumping.
 
BETTA BEING SINGLE – Took and an awkward stride near the 300m and became monetarily unbalanced
 
AYE EYE BOOM – Passing the 100m, shifted out across heels to obtain clear running.
 
KENTUCKY ROSE – Raced in restricted room near the 500m. Inclined to lay in near the 500m before being straightened by its rider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice K. Barker reported that the mare was disappointing when asked for an effort in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.  
 
STOP THE ROT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
I'M A CHOCOHOLIC – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 500m.
 
JOHNNY UTAH – Raced in restricted room near the 500m.
 
 
RACE 3: TRUE BLUE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP           1500 Metres
 
DEVINE FALLS – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Made the crossing near the 1300m awkwardly and momentarily shifted in. Laid out approaching the 1000m. Laid out near the 700m.
 
HIGHER CALLING – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DUBBLE HUSSLE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HALF MOON ROO – Momentarily raced in restricted room approaching the 1300m. Raced wide from the 600m.
 
ANOTHER DAZZLER – Near the 1300m, was obliged to shift out across the heels of DEVINE FALLS when that runner monetarily shifted in, and had to be steadied.
 
HE'S VIRAL (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 4: LADBROKES BIG BETS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP           1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to ascertain whether BROKEN HERO, ridden by P. Hamblin, had carried its allotted weight. After reviewing the Clerk of Scales record and interviewing jockey Hamblin, it was established that P. Hamblin had weighed in within the allowable 0.5kg weight range and subsequently correct weight was declared on the judge’s official numbers.
 
BULSARA – Rider D. Boche was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride BULSARA out over the final strides of the race. In determining penalty, consideration was given to jockey Boche’s record in relation to this rule, and that Stewards were not satisfied that his actions had cost his mount finishing in 3rd place.
 
LOOSE UNIT – Slow to begin.
 
MR WANDJI – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.  
 
COOL PANELS – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
RACE 5: G'DAY G'DAY FROM GREAT NORTHERN BREWERY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP       1200 Metres
 
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS – Bumped on jumping. Over the concluding stages, obliged to shift wider across the heels of SHE’S A BAD GIRL.
 
HUSSON'S REVENGE – Bumped on jumping. Rider S. Cormack reported his mount failed to respond from his riding from the 400m and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GALLERY MASTER – Began awkwardly.
 
SUENITO – Began awkwardly.
 
WORLDY SPIRIT – Raced three wide without cover from the 600m. Rider H. Shaw reported his mount laid in for the majority and proved difficult to ride out to the line.
 
KACHINA GIRL – Slow to begin. 
 
ZAVEGA – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly. Co-trainer T. Sweeney was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of ZAVEGA.
