SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT


GENERAL

As rider L. Dempsey was not riding due to being suspended at the Gold Coast on Saturday 14th March 2026, he was replaced as per the race day summary.
 
As rider J. Morris was not riding due to illness he was replaced as per the race day summary. Rider J. Morris was advised a medical clearance will be required prior to riding again.
 
Trainer B. Laming was fined $200 pursuant to LR68(1) for failing to scratch HURRICANE ROSIE in Race Six (6) by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer J. Moore was fined $200 pursuant to LR36(6) for failing to scratch dual acceptor WHAT DID YOU SAY by the prescribed time.
 
Stewards approved the following overweights:
 
Race 4: B. Lerena +0.5kg (56kg)
Race 6: D. Boche +1.0kg (56kg)
Race 7: A. Bakos +1.0kg (55kg)
 
Stewards upgraded the track to a Soft 6 at 12:47pm, with the mouth of the 1200m chute remaining a Soft 7.
 
RACE 1:LADBROKES MEGA MULTI QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP   800 M

BETTERINDANUDE – Began awkwardly.
 
SEAMS LOGICAL – Began awkwardly.
 
EMBOLDEN - Bumped near the 600m.


RACE 2: KILCOY GLOBAL FOODS FILLIES & MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP        1200 M

LATE NIGHT DEVIL – Rounding the home turn was awkwardly placed between runners when C. Collis (MIDNIGHT MIRACLE) shifted out to improve. Rider C. Collis was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting out when not sufficiently clear.

MIDNIGHT MIRACLE - Unable to muster early speed. Shifted out rounding the home turn and bumped with LATE NIGHT DEVIL and became unbalanced. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight before improving onto heels and shifting in at the 50m. Rider C. Collis was questioned regarding the tactics adopted in todays event. C. Collis stated the mare couldn’t muster early speed and his mount was under pressure from the 500m. Rider C. Collis further added he had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Trainer M. Currie when questioned, stated that whilst no specific instructions where issued he did note that MIDNIGHT MIRACLE is a back marker and can be slow to begin. Stewards noted his explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and the mare was also found to be exhibiting clinical signs of the thumps.

GRANDEUR ROSE - Hampered and lost rightful running near the 50m when MIDNIGHT MIRACLE shifted in when insufficiently clear. Rider C. Collis pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 50m he did not make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting into the rightful running of GRANDEUR ROSE obliging it to become awkwardly placed on heels, hampered and lost its rightful running. Rider C. Collis’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight (8) days to commence midnight Sunday 22nd March 2026 and concluding midnight 30th March 2026.

DUCHESS BREE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having raced at Toowoomba on Saturday 14th March 2026. 
 

RACE 3: LUCK OF THE IRISH MAIDEN PLATE         1200 M

CLAW MACHINE – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
PRIVET (NZ) -  Began awkwardly.
 
SIR MEMPHIS – Raced wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted wider.

TAKARA MOON – Shortly after the start blundered.
 
CLEARLY NOT – Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced.
 
MR BRITE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 

RACE 4: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE          1500 M

GRATIFICATION (NZ) - Stable advised change of tactics, settle further forward. Ridden accordingly. Made the home turn awkwardly leaving the home straight on the first occasion and shifted out, resulting in ALKEBULAN and KAMIGAMO being carried wider. Over raced approaching the 1000m and steadied off heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
PRAISE YOU – Became fractious in the barriers before being removed and requiring a saddle adjustment. Over raced near the 1000m and was steadied off heels. Held up from the 600m to the home turn before shifting out and bumping with BAMBINO DI VINO.  Trainer H. Schwenke was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings record for its barrier manners.
 
GOLDEN NOTRE – Slow to begin.
 
BAMBINO DI VINO - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after making contact with a section of the rail leaving the mounting yard and was cleared to start. Put in an awkward stride approaching the 600m. Bumped approaching the home turn when PRAISE YOU shifted out.  
 
HOLLER DASH – Fractious in the barriers, removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Trainer R. Warzecha was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.
 
ALKEBULAN - Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. Raced wide early until approaching the 900m.
 
CRYSTAL GARDEN – Declared a late scratching at 2:20pm on veterinary advice after being injured in transit. Trainer A. Campton was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.

KAMIGAMO (NZ) – Momentarily raced in restricted room shortly after the start.

CHEEKOSWAY – Slow to begin. Laid out leaving the home straight on the first occasion.


RACE 5: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP   1500 M

ALL I WANT IS YOU – Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.

SOCK'EMSID – After being ridden along approaching the turn out of the straight became awkwardly placed on heels for some distance before momentarily shifting wider. Rider C. Meehan was advised to demonstrate greater care in similar circumstances.  Rider C. Meehan was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for raising his whip hand above shoulder height.          

METCALFE  - Began awkwardly, shifted in and then steadied from heels. Rider B. Lerena reported his mount laid in throughout.

SUNDAY GEORGIE – Began slowly.

SO YOU CAN TORQUE - Was awkwardly placed on the heels of BLACK ‘N” DEADLY (App. B. Baker) leaving the home straight on the first occasion. Apprentice B. Baker was advised to exercise more care when crossing in future. 

CITY OF TROY (NZ) – Carried wider rounding the first turn.

HUSSY EMPRESS - Held up between the 600m and the home turn.

OAKFIELD EAGLE - Raced wide early before being allowed to stride forward and reached the position outside the lead near the 800m.

BLACK 'N' DEADLY - Began very awkwardly before shifting out.


RACE 6: ASH PEDLER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP   2076 M

Prior to correct weight V. Heading, trainer of the second placed FLYING ROTHE requested to view the official photo. After doing so V. Heading was satisfied and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers.

MONTEVECCHIO - Slow to begin.

CHEERS – Laid out approaching the home turn.

PARISIENNE PIPER – Rider C. Collis reported the mare may not have ran out the distance of todays race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be exhibiting clinical signs of the thumps.

BLUEPRINT - Slow to begin. Approaching the home turn became awkwardly placed on the heels of the weakening PARISIENNE PIPER, obliging its rider to shift out, shortly thereafter raced in restricted room between PARISIENNE PIPER and FLYING ROTHE and was momentarily steadied.

FLYING ROTHE – Began awkward. Near the 1100m steadied from heels when the pace of the race slackened

PREACHABULL - Raced wide early before striding forward to lead passing the winning post on the first occasion.

RUBOS - Raced three-wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Warzecha indicated the gelding would be now leaving her stable. Stewards when considering todays performance advised trainer R. Warzecha the gelding would be required to trial to stewards satisfaction before racing again.


RACE 7: THANK YOU PAUL DOLAN COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP  1200 M

SILENT FOX - Approaching the home turn momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of WEST CORK, which laid in momentarily before being corrected.

WEST CORK – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with THE BOSS MAN. Laid in approaching the home turn.

THE BOSS MAN - Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start was awkwardly placed at the heels of WAX ON WAX OFF (C.Collis). Rider C. Collis was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for crossing when not sufficiently clear. Raced wide throughout.

MAXIE TAP (NZ) - Slow to begin. Rider A. Bakos reported the tongue tie may have become detached in the run.
