GENERAL
Race 8. Trainer P. Jenkins was fined $200 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor BOLD AS BRASS by the prescribed time.
 

RACE 1:LADBROKES HOSTED POTS MAIDEN HANDICAP          1500 Metres
 
MUD 'N' BLOOD – Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, commenced to shift out when being steadied contributing to SLAYRIDER being tightened for room.
 
FLYING AKEED – Trainer A. Campton was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the gelding with pre-race earmuffs which are not part of its advertised gear. Raced wide throughout.
 
SLAYRIDER – Began awkwardly and bumped ALKEBULAN. Steadied leaving the winning post on the first occasion when tightened for room between MUD ‘N’ BLOOD which shifted out when over racing and HAPPY COFFEE which was carried inwards by TOGETHERWE CONQUER which was carried in by FLYING AKEED. Jockey H. Shaw, the rider of FLY AKEED was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) and advised to give greater racing room to inside runners in similar circumstances.
 
ALKEBULAN – Slow to begin, then bumped with SLAYRIDER. Laid in under pressure throughout. Disappointed for a run near 300m when attempting to improve between SLAYRIDER and MUD 'N' BLOOD.
 
MISTEMBA – Began awkwardly and bumped.
 


RACE 2:LADBROKES PLACE EXTRA TO 10TH MAIDEN HANDICAP        800 Metres

NOT TELLING – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 500m when taken inwards by STARWARD, which shifted in and away from ITZAJUNGLEOUTTHERE.
 
SILVER STREAK – Slow to begin.
 
SHOWN THE DOOR – Raced wide throughout.
 
MOVER AND SHAKER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide until the 400m then commenced to hang out and took no competitive part thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J. Crompton was advised that MOVER AND SHAKER would be required to officially trial prior to racing again.
 
YONAKA – Inconvenienced near the 500m when NOT TELLING was taken inwards by STARWARD, which shifted in and away from ITZAJUNGLEOUTTHERE.
 

RACE 3:ROD SLATER & KILCOY DIGGERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP          800 Metres

GYPSY TRICKS (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages, became awkwardly placed at the heels of  SORT CHA MESS which shifted in under pressure. Jockey L. Tilley, rider of SORT CHA MESS, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
DIAMANTINA ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
STAR VENTURE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
AMPHAWA – Raced wide throughout.
 
LEVAR – Raced wide throughout.


RACE 4:GREAT NORTHERN BREWERY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP           1900 Metres
 
O'CALDINO – Began awkwardly.
 
MEDICAL AUTOCRAT – Bumped on jumping.
 
ALFA DUNDEE – Bumped on jumping.
 
SEERESS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
BRAVE BOY – Hampered on jumping and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
 
JEDIAH – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Rider M. Savva reported that her mount didn’t run out a strong 1900m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ANOTHER DAZZLER – Improved onto heels near the 700m and was steadied.


RACE 5:EXCHANGE HOTEL KILCOY RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP   1500 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 4 minutes when TAMBOURINE MAN and CONEY ISLAND BABY proved difficult to load. TAMBOURINE MAN refused to load and was declared a late scratching at 2.34pm and CONEY ISLAND BABY refused to load and was declared a late scratching at 2.35pm.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on TAMBOURINE MAN be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st TWILIGHT STEPS 43c win, 32c place
2nd GOLD DAZZLER 30c place
3rd  SISTINE CHAPEL 33c place 
Trainer K. Martin was advised that TAMBOURINE MAN will require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
Similarly, prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on CONEY ISLAND BABY be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st TWILIGHT STEPS 41c win, 28c place
2nd GOLD DAZZLER 27c place
3rd  SISTINE CHAPEL 29c place 

Trainer B. Mackie CONEY ISLAND BABY was advised that the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.          
 
JACKS AND SODA – Over raced when the pace of the race slackened near the 1200m.

YOUMEANDDUPRE – Over raced when the pace of the race slackened near the 1200m. Shifted out and bumped SOUTHOFTHE BORDER approaching the home turn. Whilst weakening near the 150m had to be momentarily steadied from the heels of TWILIGHT STEPS which shifted out to improve. Apprentice K. Johnston the rider of TWILIGHT STEPS was advised to exercise greater care.
 
TWILIGHT STEPS – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SAVE THE ROSES – Slow to begin.
 
AOOM'S CHOICE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
GOLD DAZZLER – Over raced when the pace of the race slackened near the 1200m.
 
SOUTHOFTHEBORDER – Over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover passing the winning post on the first occasion and continued to over-race when the pace of the race slackened near 1200m. Bumped approaching the home turn by YOUMEANDDUPRE.



RACE 6:LADBROKES PRINCESS OF KILCOY QTIS 2YO & 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE   1200 Metres

DANCIN IN MOONLITE – Hampered between runners on jumping. Tightened for room and had to be checked near the 700m when PFEIFFER'S KISS (A. Sewell) shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey A. Sewell, rider of PFEIFFER’S KISS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 700m, he steadied his mount and shifted in to obtain a position following MISHANI RAINFIRE and in doing so, tightened the running of DANCIN IN MOONLITE (A. Keeley) causing the rider of that horse to take hold of DANCIN IN MOONLIGHT, which lost its rightful running. Jockey A. Sewell’s license to ride in races was suspended for 9 days commencing at midnight the 28th of June 2026 until midnight the 7th of June 2026. Jockey Sewell was advised of his right of appeal.
 
SORT OF IN LOVE – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, rider D. Smith stated that from the wide barrier he had been instructed to ride forward as is the horse’s customary racing pattern, however after beginning awkwardly he elected not to pressure his mount and settled at the tail of the field.
 
COSMOPOLITAN LADY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DOLLVADER – Began awkwardly, shifted in, bumping DANCIN IN MOONLITE with apprentice J. Emmerson momentarily becoming very awkward in the saddle, losing the use of her offside iron for approximately 100m.  
 
WINNING FLAME – Began awkwardly and lost ground.


RACE 7:LADBROKES KILCOY CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP   1200 Metres

MAMARAGAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

KING KRYPTOS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced shortly after start and had to be steadied when SPEED MAP shifted in. Jockey D. Smith, rider of SPEED MAP, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
HORRIBLE HANK – Slow to begin.
 
CANTANKEROUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
DAZZLING DIAMOND – Began awkwardly. Apprentice K. Johnston reported that her mount did not handle the tight turning racing circuit.
 
BOLD AS BRASS – Over raced near the 800m, shifted out and bumped MISHANI GLAZE.
 
EMBOLDEN – Apprentice B. Baker was reminded of her obligations in riding her mounts out fully to the finish.
 
MISHANI GLAZE – Over raced in the early stages. Approaching the 800m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of EMBOLDEN when over racing. Bumped by BOLD AS BRASS near the 800m. Shifted out when over racing and raced 3 wide from the 700m.


RACE 8:SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP                1200 Metres


JE REVE – Bumped on jumping. Near the 600m, steadied from heels then shifted wider to secure clear running.
 
LUCKY ARTIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
DUKE OF LANCASTER – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
LORD DANILO – Slow to begin. Obliged to race in restricted room between the 400m until leaving the 300m when racing between PRINCE OF DIAMONDS which shifted in and DUKE OF LANCASTER which shifted out. Held up for clear running from the 250m until the approaching the 100m.
 
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS – Improved onto heels near the 150m and obliged to alter course.
 
HIT – Shifted out leaving the 600m and bumped ELEGANT LUCY.
 
ELEGANT LUCY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Near the 600m, buffeted between runners when HIT shifted out.Apprentice J. Busuttin, rider of HIT, was advised to exercise more care.
