GENERAL
 
As rider D. Boche was injured, he was replaced as per the Meeting Raceday Summary.
 
As rider D. Boutet was not riding due to acceptable reasons he was replaced as per the Meeting Raceday Summary.
 
Race 1. As rider J. Lloyd was overweight, he was replaced by S. Cormack as the rider of RAINBOW GLITTER. Subsequently J. Lloyd was fined $200 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
Race 4. Trainer P. Bobic was reprimanded pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor SOUTHOFTHEBORDER by the prescribed time.
 
Race 2. Trainer J. Moore was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider for COPPER STAR by the prescribed time.
 
 
RACE 1: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS MAIDEN PLATE          1900 Metres
 
CANBECOSTLY - Bumped on jumping.
 
CONCADOR - Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Trainer G. Wright was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the gelding to race without blinkers, which are a part of its declared gear.
 
I DROVE ALL NIGHT – Shifted wider approaching the 1300m when MEADE’S CAFÉ (G. Cartwright) shifted out, then raced wide for the remainder.

MEADE'S CAFÉ - Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 1300m, shifted wider.
 
O'REILLY'S SHOUT – Approaching the 400m, raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
ALKEBULAN - Began awkwardly. Passing the 1000m, steadied from heels when the pace of the race slackened.   
 
IT'S OK - Approaching the 400m, raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
MISHPAT - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after having raced at Beaudesert on Friday 26th June 2026. Apprentice K. Lenton reported her mount was inclined to lay out from the 600m. K Lenton further added that in her opinion, the filly may not have handled the quick back up, as well as the soft track conditions today.
 
NUZANA – Bumped on jumping and shifted out. Commenced to weaken leaving the 900m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B. Davis was advised a warning would be placed on the filly for its poor performance.

RAINBOW GLITTER – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have bled from one nostril. Trainer V. Venkaya was advised of the provisions of AR79(8).  
 
Following the running of this race and consistent light rain, Stewards downgraded the track to a Soft (7).
 
 
RACE 2: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD BM62 HANDICAP        800 Metres

SWITCH THE STARS - Began awkwardly.
 
BEFORE ANYONE ELSE  - Began awkwardly.
 
TINKERBELLA - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after contacting the gate on leaving the mouthing yard and was passed suitable to start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
COPPER STAR - Raced wide for the majority.

MISHANI AZTEC - Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 

RACE 3: KILCOY GLOBAL FOODS MAIDEN PLATE          1500 Metres
 
BRASS BAND - Brushed with TEDDY TOO CHEAP over the concluding stages.
 
MUD 'N' BLOOD - Approaching the 1100m, momentarily steadied from the heels of HEROIC VILLEN.
 
HEROIC VILLEN - Raced wide until approaching the 800m.
 
TEDDY TOO CHEAP – Connections advised a change of tactics; to settle further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Brushed with BRASS BAND over the concluding stages.  
 
CAIRO QUEEN - When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice A. McColm reported his mount may not have appreciated the tight turning track. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
OUR SASSY PRINCESS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PICKA POPPY - Apprentice K. Johnston reported her mount raced greenly and, in her opinion, may not have handled the tight turning track.
 
The start of race four was delayed due to an oncourse patron requiring medical attention from QAS officials.  Due to this delay race times were amended as follows:
Race 4: 2:55pm
Race 5: 3:25pm
Race 6: 3:55pm
Race 7: 4:25pm
Race 8: 4:50pm
 
RACE 4: GREAT NORTHERN BREWERY BM55 HANDICAP          1500 Metres

TORVECCHIO – Bumped on jumping. Passing the 1300m, was obliged to check from the heels of CHEERFUL CAT (J.Lloyd). After taking evidence from riders F. Larson (FROTHSAY), apprentice J. Busuttin (PLANNED ENCOUNTER), apprentice A. Heinrich (TORVECCHIO) and rider J. Lloyd (CHEERFUL CAT) and reviewing the patrol footage, it was established that approaching the 1300m, FROTHSAY shifted out, bumping with PLANNED ENCOUNTER, which was over racing despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in PLANNED ENCOUNTER racing in restricted room, shifting out marginally carrying TORVERCCHIO wider. At this point CHEERFUL CAT, which was improving wider on the track toward a forward position, shifted in when insufficiently clear of TORVECCHIO causing that runner to check from heels. Stewards, in assessing the incident, could not be comfortably satisfied that any one rider could be found entirely culpable, however rider J. Lloyd was issued with reprimand pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
 
CHEERFUL CAT - Began awkwardly.

FROTHSAY  - Slow into stride. Approaching the 1300m, momentarily shifted out.
 
PLANNED ENCOUNTER (NZ) - Began awkwardly and bumped TORVECCHIO. Passing the 1300m, whilst over racing, raced in restricted room and shift out marginally. Passing the 800m, steadied from heels whilst over racing. Trainer N. Hocking was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the gelding without winkers which are a part of its declared gear.
 
SISTINE CHAPEL - Began awkwardly.
 
Following the running of this race and with persistent light rainfall during the aforementioned delay, the track was downgraded to a Heavy (9).
 

RACE 5: LADBROKES MEGA MULTI 0 - 58 HANDICAP           1900 Metres
 
ADVANCE TO JAFFA – Over raced in the early stages and was steadied from heels near the 1500m. Raced wide for the majority.

LIGHTS WILL GUIDE – When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice A. McColm reported that in his opinion, the filly did not handle the step up in distance or today’s heavy track conditions.
 
TRUSTY BANDIT - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination having raced at Gatton on 26th June 2026. Raced wide for the majority.
 
BORN TO BE ALIVE - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after contacting a fence on leaving the enclosure and was cleared to start.  
 
HEROIC BEACH - Began awkwardly.
 
PAPAL MISS - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination having raced at Ipswich on 25th June 2026.
 
ANOTHER DAZZLER – Shifted out shortly after jumping, unbalancing rider R. Wilson causing her to momentarily lose the use of her right stirrup iron.
 
NO DOUBLE DIPPING – Began awkwardly.
 
BRAVE BOY - Underwent a pre race veterinary examination having raced at Gatton on 26th June 2026. Slow to begin.
 

RACE 6: LADBROKES HOSTED POTS MAIDEN PLATE       1200 Metres
 
BOMBUS - A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer S. Croxford was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
SAVEA - Began awkwardly.  
 
YONAKA - Began awkwardly.

NEXT EXIT- Approaching the 1000m, whilst over racing, had to be steadied. Passing the 800m, bumped with ENDLESS ELLIEGANCE which shifted in. Rider B. Lerena reported that in his opinion, his mount didn’t handle todays’ heavy track conditions. `

HANNAH'S ASTAR - Slow to begin. Commenced to weaken from the 700m. Rider F. Larson reported his mount failed to handle todays’ heavy track conditions.
 
BOHO BELLE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period and was cleared to start.        
 
GOODFELLA FINCH –Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority. Rider M. Hellyer reported his mount was inclined to lay in throughout.
 
ENDLESS ELLIEGANCE - Raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 800m, shifted in and bumped NEXT EXIT before being corrected by its rider. Approaching the 700m, improved onto the heels of GOODFELLA FINCH and had to be steadied. Apprentice K. Johnston reported that her mount was inclined to race greenly throughout.  
 
 

RACE 7: EXCHANGE HOTEL KILCOY BM65 HANDICAP       1200 Metres
 
MR WANDJI - Raced wide in the early and middles stages. Laid in over the concluding stages. 
 
SPEED MAP - Began awkwardly and bumped with FORTYSECONDSTREET.
 
CEEKAY'S CHOICE – Began awkwardly.

FORTYSECONDSTREET - Bumped on jumping.
 


RACE 8: LADBROKES BIG BETS COPY NOW 0 - 55 HANDICAP       1200 Metres
 
BOLD AS BRASS - Began awkwardly.
 
WHAT DID YOU SAY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Leaving the 800m, shifted out momentarily. Passing the 700m, momentarily steadied when LI’L REX  (G. Cartwright) shifted in. Rider G. Cartwright was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Rider B. Lerena reported his mount was required to work hard in the early stages and in his opinion, had a detrimental effect on the geldings’ finishing effort.
 
THIEF BY NIGHT - Began awkwardly.
 
ON THE TARGET - Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted in momentarily approaching the 800m.
 
EXOSTOVA - Passing the 800m, steadied and forced wider.
 
RUSSIAN RIPPER - Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
FINAL VOYAGE - Stewards acceded to a request from co-trainer T. Sweeney to allow the mare to race in pacifiers given the track downgrade to heavy. Approaching the 800m, steadied from the heels and lost ground when ON THE TARGET (F. Larson) shifted in when insufficiently clear. Rider F. Larson was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding. Rider L. Tilley reported his mount did not appreciate the tighter turning circumference of today’s track.  
 
GALLERY MASTER – Very slow to begin.  
 
GALACTIC LEGEND - Began awkwardly.
