As jockey B. Wheeler was unavailable and jockey N. Heywood was injured, rider replacements were made as per the raceday summary. Jockey Heywood was advised he would require a medical certificate prior to riding again.
 
 
Race 1 - ADF FAMILIES MAIDEN PLATE 1500 M
 
VICTORY LINK – Declared a late scratching at 11:50am on veterinary advice after the gelding had become significantly worked up prior to the race. On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on VICTORY LINK be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:

1st - ZAYYANO – 0c win, 1c place.
2nd – STYLISH EDITION – 1c place.
3rd - EXODINI – 4c place.
 
Trainer M. Morgan was advised the gelding would be required to further trial or jumpout to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again (pre-race manners).
 
EXODINI – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 50m, shifted out and bumped ROSE OF CHANTILLY.
 
O'EXPLOSIVE – Slow to begin. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Eased out of the race at the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. When questioned, jockey D. McGillivray reported he had concerns for the welfare of the gelding after noticing several spots of blood on both himself and his mount, which he believed at the time was coming from his mount’s nostrils. He added that he elected to ease his mount out of the race near the 800m and dismount, which after doing so, it became apparent that the blood had not stemmed from O’EXPLOSIVE. It was later realised that the blood had come from HEAD FOR COVER, which he had been to the outside of in the run. Stewards noted the explanation tendered.  
 
UP OVER'N GONE – Began awkwardly and was hampered by ZAYYANO which shifted out on jumping. Raced keenly approaching the first turn and laid out. Leaving the 900m, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
ZAYYANO (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out and bumped STYLISH EDITION. Apprentice W. Galloway was reminded of his obligations under AR132(6)(b) regarding using his whip in an action which raises his arm above shoulder height.
 
HEAD FOR COVER – Weakened from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer M. Morrison was notified that in accordance with AR79(4), HEAD FOR COVER shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 metres; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
 
ROSE OF CHANTILLY – Began awkwardly and was hampered. Approaching the 50m, bumped by EXODINI.
 
STYLISH EDITION – Change of tactics; to be further forward if circumstances permit. Bumped at the start and was taken out. Settled behind the lead. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have minor lacerations to the off foreleg, consistent with having been galloped on. 
 
OAKFIELD GALAXY – Began awkwardly. Jockey L. Miller was reminded of his obligations under AR132(6)(b) regarding using his whip in an action which raises his arm above shoulder height.

 
Race 2 - BRIBIE ISLAND RSL - RAAF MAIDEN PLATE      1500 M
 
BRASS BAND – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Apprentice W. Galloway reported the gelding wasn’t suited to today’s tight turning track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
IN THE HOLE TIGER – Bumped with WINNING FLAME on a number of occasions shortly after the start.
 
RUBICK'S SHADOW – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
HANNAH'S ASTAR – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground. Near the 800m, raced in restricted room and was steadied to the inside of MUM ON RUM, which was taken in by IN THE HOLE TIGER (N. Fazackerley), which laid in. Jockey N. Fazackerley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Jockey N. Thomas could offer no explanation for the poor performance, Trainer D. Kropp was advised nominations for HANNAH’S STAR would be refused at tab venues until its form improves.  
 
SONIC FLYER – Slow to begin. Held up from the 600m until approaching the 300m.
 
SUBTLE HINTS – Slow to begin.
 
WINNING FLAME – Shifted out on jumping and bumped IN THE HOLE TIGER on a number of occasions, resulting in WINNING FLAME becoming unbalanced. Made the first turn leaving the home straight awkwardly. Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
O'REILLY'S SHOUT – Weakened from the 400m. Apprentice O. Kendal reported the mare was not suited to the short back-up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have cardiac arrythmia. Trainers B. & M. Costello were advised the mare requires a veterinary certificate, inclusive of an ECG of more than 60 seconds whilst the horse is at rest, followed by a cardiac auscultation within 15 minutes of the horse completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 3 - JOHNNIE WALKER APM "WHISKEY" MEMORIAL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 800 M
 
PRESTO BELLA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers and was found to be shin sore. PRESTO BELLA was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1:03pm. On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on PRESTO BELLA be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st – CHAT MIGNON – 0c win, 6c place.
2nd – MISHANI SINATRA – 6c place.
3rd – NIGHT MARKET – 1c place.
 
Trainer M. Goodwin was advised that if he wishes to start PRESTO BELLA within 6 weeks, the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing.
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the patrol footage of the start to determine if NIGHT MARKET had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage and taking evidence from both starter L. Lowery and jockey E. Lang, it was established that NIGHT MARKET lunged at the gates prior to the start being effected, resulting in its barrier opening slightly earlier than the rest of the gates, which however resulted in NIGHT MARKET becoming awkward and losing ground. Stewards were of the view, that as it was its own actions in lunging forward at the gates, and that the filly had not been afforded an advantage with its gate opening earlier, declared NIGHT MARKET a runner. Stewards also heard submissions from jockey G. Cartwright, rider of MISHANI ROZAY, which was in the adjoining barrier. Jockey Cartwright stated she believed the barriers opened as a result of NIGHT MARKET lunging and was of the opinion it may have been a false start. After taking evidence from starter L. Lowery and viewing the patrol footage, the Stewards were satisfied that the start was effected by the starter, not the actions of NIGHT MARKET and therefore MISHANI ROZAY was declared a runner. Stewards subsequently declared correct weight on the official numbers.
 
BOUDICA QUEEN – Bumped on jumping. Near the 50m, improved onto the heels of THREE NON BLONDES and wasn’t fully tested to the finish line.
 
CHAT MIGNON – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI PERFORMER – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BOUDICA QUEEN. Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
NIGHT MARKET – Lunged in the barriers prior to the start being effected and as a result, began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
RUSSIAN FANTASY – Raced wide throughout.
 
JUST JIMMY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4 - GAYTHORNE RSL - RAN RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1900 M
 
O'CALDINO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after sustaining a minor abrasion to its near foreleg whilst being transported and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide without cover until the 800m. Whilst weakening near the 200m, eased from the heels of THE COPS (App. I Jessop) which shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice I. Jessop was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Apprentice R. Thorburn reported the gelding raced flat and didn’t travel comfortably throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
POWER OF SUCCESS – Near the 1700m, raced in restricted room and was steadied to the inside of THE COPS which was tightened for room by HELL OF A PRINCE (App. K. Johnston) which shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice K. Johnston was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BROOKLYN DAISY – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn and shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
BALMIERRO – Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.

THE COPS – Shifted out on jumping and bumped BALMIERRO. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
IMAREALAMERICAN – Near the 300m, raced in restricted room and steadied from the heels of BALMIERRO (G. Cartwright) which shifted out when not clear. Rider G. Cartwright was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
HELL OF A PRINCE – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5 - ALEXANDER "CHUCK" BERRY MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately two minutes when ALVITAR became fractious in the barriers, was removed and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. Trainer S. Elix was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
MOONLIGHT ODYSSEY – Shifted in on jumping and bumped GONE BY DAYLIGHT.
 
DECOY – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
GONE BY DAYLIGHT – Slow to begin and was bumped. Approaching the winning post, severely tightened for room and steadied when ALVITAR (C. Taylor) shifted in when not clear. Jockey C. Taylor was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
INSAIN LADY – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and near the 800m shifted out, taking SEATICUS wider. Trainers A. & D. Simpson were advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners. Trainers A. & D. Simpson advised Stewards they would give consideration to removing the tongue tie and blinkers from INSAIN LADY’s racing gear. 
 
PIER ANGEL – Began awkwardly. Apprentice B. Baker reported her mount raced greenly throughout.
 
TARGARYEN QUEEN – Raced three-wide without cover.
 
SEATICUS – Inconvenienced and taken wider near the 800m by INSAIN LADY.
 
 
Rae 6 - LADBROKES DIGGERS CUP BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of second placegetter, RUSSIAN PIPER to view the patrol footage of the home straight. After viewing the footage, connections decided not to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
JUNGLE FEVER – Near the 900m, eased when racing in restricted room.
 
CRESSBROOK – Approaching the 600m, raced keenly and shifted out. Leaving the 100m, bumped with LINWAR. Jockey T. Brooker reported her mount was inclined to hang when rounding the turns.
 
THE HAMO – Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 900m, whilst over-racing, was inconvenienced when LINWAR was tightened and taken in by RUSSIAN RIPPER (M. Savva), which shifted in when not clear. Jockey M. Savva was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Apprentice W. Galloway advised the gelding travelled well, however didn’t respond to his riding when placed under pressure and proved disappointing. He added the gelding, which was first up today, will take benefit from the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
ESPRIT DU JOUR – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.  
 
LINWAR – Leaving the 100m, was steadied when XERRI (App. C. Krahnen) shifted out when not clear. Apprentice C. Krahnen, rider of XERRI, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a), in that leaving the 100m, she failed to stop riding to prevent her mount from shifting out when not clear of LINWAR, which was taken out, making contact with CRESSBROOK and turning that runner in, resulting in LINWAR having to be steadied from the heels of XERRI and losing its rightful running. Apprentice Krahnen’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of six (6) days, commencing midnight 29/08/2026 and concluding midnight 04/09/2026.
 
MA'S EPIC – Laid out from the 600m until the entrance to the home straight. 
 
 
Race 7 - KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
Prior to the running of this race, QAS had to tend to an on-course patron and as a result, all remaining races were moved back 1 timeslot, with the final race to be run at 4:55PM.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered objections lodged by trainer S. Pershouse, trainer of the dead-heat fifth placed RESOLUTE LADY (R. Thorburn) against the dead-heat third placed CHAMPONNET (D. McGillivray) and the first placed EGYPITIAN’S REWARD (B. Lerena), alleging interference at the entrance to the home straight. When considering the objections, Stewards noted CHAMPONNET shifted out near the 200m, taking EGYPTIAN’S REWARD out into the line of RESOLUTE LADY which had to be checked. As Stewards were of the view that the interference caused to RESOLUTE LADY was attributable to the shift of CHAMPONNET, the objection of 5th vs 1st was dismissed. When considering the interference suffered to RESOLUTE LADY and the 2-length margin between 3rd and 5th, Stewards could not be satisfied that had the interference not occurred, RESOLUTE LADY would have finished ahead of CHAMPONNET at the conclusion of the event and therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the official numbers.
 
MIGHTY JUDD – Near the 200m, eased when awkwardly placed at the heels of STARWARD which was taken out by SOUTHAMPTON NICCO (N. Thomas) which shifted out when not clear. Jockey N. Thomas was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
SOUTHAMPTON NICCO – Began awkwardly.
 
STARWARD – Jockey D. Peisley was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(a) for using the whip forward of the horse’s shoulder.
 
EGYPITIAN'S REWARD – Held up for a short distance leaving the 400m. Taken wider rounding the home turn.
 
RESOLUTE LADY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced three-wide throughout. Checked near the 200m from the heels of EGYPTIAN’S REWARD, which was taken out by CHAMPONNET (D. McGillivray) which shifted out when not clear. Jockey D. McGillivray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a), in that near the 200m, whilst riding his mount along, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out when not clear of EGYPITIAN'S REWARD, which was taken out into the line of RESOLUTE LADY, which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. D. McGillivray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of ten (10) days, commencing midnight 29/08/2026 and concluding midnight 08/09/2026.
 
QUARTERSHARE – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and was hampered by MISS WATERLINE and as a result, lost ground. Raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
MISS WATERLINE – Shifted out on jumping and hampered QUARTERSHARE. Approaching the 800m, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
 
Race 8 - LEGACY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
ROARING SUCCESS – Slow to begin.
 
KOGA NINJA – Began awkwardly and bumped HARCASION. Laid in shortly after the start. Raced ungenerously in the early stages and leaving the 800m, hung out. Apprentice O. Kendal reported her mount raced ungenerously throughout the event, proving difficult to ride. Trainer S. Thomas was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
BOITUMELO – Began awkwardly. Jockey R. Payne reported her mount didn’t stretch out in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
HARCASION – Bumped at the start.
 
 
Race 9 - LADBROKES VIETNAM VETS CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1500 M
 
DRIALLE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped VON BEE.
 
ULUWATU – Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
 
SUCCESSISMAGIC – Raced three-wide without cover until leaving the 900m. Jockey G. Cartwright reported her mount wasn’t suited by racing further back in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
VON BEE (NZ) – Shifted out on jumping and bumped DRIALLE.
 
PULIGNY – Raced wide throughout.
 
LORD DANILO – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 700m and had to be steadied.
