Race 1: CENTRAL WEST RURAL BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1000 Metres)
BIONIC – Inspected by the club veterinarian prior to racing and passed fit to start.
PHONDLE – Travelled wide for much of the event. Held up momentarily approaching the 200m before being taken wider to gain clear running.
MUSTAFA – Stood flat footed at the start losing considerable ground. The connections were advised a warning was placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
ANOTHER TOSSER – Brushed with SKOOZI’S FLYER near the 100m.
SKOOZI’S FLYER – Bumped near the 100m.
THERAPY – Jumped awkwardly and travelled wide for much of the race.
ALGEROBA – Began awkwardly.
Race 2: FOODWORKS LONGREACH Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
AUSSIE MYTHOLOGY – Awkward to begin.
BENTER – Slow to begin.
HOT ROD JACK – Hampered on the home turn when THE PETTI EXPRESS hung out.
SUMMER SIZZLING – Slow to begin and travelled wide for the majority of the race.
THE PETTI EXPRESS – Hung out rounding the home turn hampering HOT ROD JACK. Trainer W. Baker was fined $200 under AR106(1) for presenting THE PETTI EXPRESS to the barrier enclosure without the notified blinkers. Jockey B. Richardson was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. one more than permitted.
Race 3: SIMSTOCK RURAL 2023 BATTLE OF THE BUSH LONGREACH QUALIFIER OPEN Plate (1100 Metres)
Trainer R. Williams was fined the sum of $500 under AR106(1) when THE SNOOPERSTAR and LILY ALLEZ were presented to the mounting yard with each other’s saddles.
MENINDEE – Travelled wide with cover.
MORI’S PRESS – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
ENTERPRISE GRAND – Slow into stride then contacted the inside running rail near 650m.
THE SNOOPERSTAR – Eased back shortly after the start to travel closer to the rail.
LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Travelled wide for much of the race.
Race 4: KIM & TIM TRAD BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1300 Metres)
YULE MY HERO – Jumped outwards contacting HEROISM then lost ground. Travelled wide for much of the race.
HEROISM – Contacted at the start and travelled wide in the early stages.
FLAMING TORCH (NZ) – Bumped at the start.
JERRY ZANDA – Jumped away awkwardly bumping FLAMING TOURCH. Jockey B. Richardson was reprimanded under AR132(5) for using the whip on 16 occasions in totality during the event. When considering penalty Stewards took into account this was Ms Richardson’s first breach of the Rule in the previous six months.
Race 5: FLOORED BY RAMSAY QTIS Class 6 Plate (1600 Metres)
OUR YOUNG MAN – Lost contact with the body of the field over the middle stages.
THE LANDING – Lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
AUVERGNE – Apprentice S. Wilcock was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
