Race 1: BARCY CLEANING SERVICE / SAUNDERS ELECTRICS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1300M
MORE THAN A STAR – Fractious prior to the start. Simultaneously as the start was effected the mare dropped it’s head then immediately after reared and lost significant ground. Raced wide throughout. Tired over the concluding stages. Mr Cavanough’s trainers representative was advised that MORE THAN A STAR would be required to complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing again due to it’s barrier manners.
BELLO BELLO – Jumped outwards at the start.
PARUES – When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance trainer H Forster stated that the gelding had been working well in the lead up to today, he further added that in his opinion the addition of a tongue tie proved beneficial in PARUES’ finishing effort.
FINAL MISSION – Jumped outwards at the start. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
INTOXICATION – Near the 1100m had to restrain when PARUES shifted inwards. Stewards inquired into the incident and it was determined that INTOXICATION commenced to race keenly as PARUES commenced to shift inwards whilst marginally easing in tempo resulting in INTOXICATION racing in restricted room. Stewards could not be satisfied that any one rider caused the incident, however jockey J Rudd (PARUES) was reminded to ensure that when shifting ground he should not ease the pace and stewards were also mindful that INTOXICATION had commenced to race keenly at the time of the incident.
Race 2: KENT CONSTRUCTIONS QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1600M
FLOP TURN RIVER – Put in an awkward stride near the 550m.
HARCH ROAD – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow into stride. Over raced throughout. Shifted wider near the 500m to obtain clear racing room and carried MORICONI wider on the track.
I SHOT THE SHERIFF – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Improved onto the heels of THE LANDING near the 1000m and shifted wider for some distance. Shifted wider near the 600m to improve. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
MORICONI – Jumped inwards at the start. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
THE LANDING – Over raced in the early stages.
Race 3: GAVIN GROVES PLUMBING OPEN HANDICAP 1100M
DEEP BREATH – Slow to begin.
HEYINGTON STATION – Began awkwardly.
SCARZEL – Raced keenly in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
SPERANZOSO (GB) – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide throughout.
Race 4: G & G BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000M

BRILLIANT MELODY – Impeded shortly after the start by MOUNT WARNING which shifted outwards.
HIGHGROUND – Declared a late scratching at 11:02am due to no rider being available.
MOUNT WARNING – Shifted outwards shortly after the start impeding BRILLIANT MELODY. Raced keenly in the early stages.
YOU BETTER YOU BET – Raced wide throughout. Shifted inwards near the 200m and commenced to lay inwards for the remainder of the home straight.
Race 5: TJF MILK RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1200M
The start of the race was delayed when jockey J Rudd became dislodged leaving the mounting enclosure. Jockey Rudd was examined by QAS officers and was cleared to fulfil his engagement.
This race was started manually on the second attempt after the automated system failed on the first attempt.
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow connections of second placed GOODFUN to view the official photo finish. After doing so connections and stewards were both satisfied with the judges numbers and correct weight was declared.
Correct weight was further delayed to allow stewards to view the replays to ascertain if SWEET MOLLY had gained a fair start after the filly’s barrier gate was marginally slow to open. It was determined that whilst the gate was marginally slow to open, it did not materially affect the chances of SWEET MOLLY as the filly still jumped away on equal terms with the remainder of the field which had no bearing on the finishing chances of SWEET MOLLY. Subsequently correct weight was declared on the judges numbers.
FREDDIE EDDIE – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Raced wide throughout.
GOODFUN – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions.
SWEET MOLLY – Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
LASTING PROMISE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of the jockey behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Over raced in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions. Inclined to lay inwards throughout.
HEDON'TWANTME – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer H Forster was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare due to it’s pre-race behavior.
