SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Alpha Wednesday 30/07/25.
Jockey Tessa Townsend pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR113 in that she did use her mobile phone whilst mounted on a horse at trackwork. Jockey Townsend was fined the sum of $200.
 
GENERAL
 
At the completion of Race 2, all start times for the remaining races at the meeting were put back by 15 minutes after Races 1 and 2 were delayed.
 
New start times were:
Race: 3 – 2.20pm
Race: 4 – 2.55pm
Race: 5 – 3.30pm
Race: 6 – 4.05pm
 
Race 1: NATIONAL JOCKEY CELEBRATION DAY CLASS 2 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1000 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed allowing Jockey M Gray time to arrive on course after inadvertently booking the incorrect flight to Longreach for today’s meeting.
 
The race was further delayed when TWILIGHT ROCK refused to load into the barriers.
 
POTESTAS – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TO THE WORLD – Began awkwardly.
 
BOURBON LANE – Jumped inwards at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DEN END – Jumped inwards at the start and made contact with the offside barrier gate. Raced wide throughout.
 
TWILIGHT ROCK – TWILIGHT ROCK was declared a late scratching at the barriers when the gelding refused to load. Trainer representative Stephanie Alexander was advised that TWILIGHT ROCK would be required to gain a further barrier certificate before racing again.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on TWILIGHT ROCK be refunded with the following deductions to apply – 
1st place – 42c win, 24c place
2nd place – 24c place
3rd place – 24c place
 
MISHANI TWILIGHT – The mare threw her head in the air as the start was affected and as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages before finishing the race off strongly.
 
ARABIAN SOO - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

YEMEAN – Laid in during the early stages of the event. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: WAYMARK HOTELS MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed due to Race 1 being delayed.
 
ANACARDIUM – Began awkwardly. Jumped outwards and bumped KENSINGTON'S JEWEL.
 
FLYING ASTERN (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
KENSINGTON'S JEWEL (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Became unbalanced for a short distance rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISHANI OUTLAW – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SOME CAT – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping.
 
STARZZABORN – Slow to begin. Tailed the field. Jockey T Townsend stated that after being slow to begin the mare failed to respond to riding and in her opinion STARZZABORN was not suited by todays racing surface. A post-race Veterinary inspection of the mare revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
At the completion of this race all start times for the remaining races at the meeting were put back by 15 minutes.
 
Race 3: ARTHUR & BERYL MOODY MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
CANTOLAGO (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
BONNET ROUGE – Became fractious in the mounting yard and harmlessly dislodged Apprentice Jockey S Pointon. Trainer R Little was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s pre-race manners. Laid in under pressure when weakening in the home straight obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten the mare.
 
FIRST SHOUT – Began awkwardly and bumped MOUNT MARGARET. Raced wide throughout. Commenced to weaken and lay in down the home straight.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Began awkwardly and shifted in on jumping. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
VALIANT JOAN – Began awkwardly.
 
BRISKET – Reared out of the barriers on jumping and as a result was slow to begin. Apprentice Jockey S Robbins reported that after being slow to begin, the mare resented the kickback from todays racing surface.
 
MOUNT MARGARET – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WOLF POINT – Shifted wider passing the 500m to obtain clear running.
 
Race 4: BIRDCAGE SPRINT OPEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
DAIMYO (JPN) – Began awkwardly and made contact with the offside barrier gate. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HEYINGTON STATION – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MR CASHMAN – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping.
 
MORE THAN A STAR – Apprentice Jockey N Palmer was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that he was only able to claim 0.5kg of his 1kg allowance in this race. Slow to begin. Commenced to over race approaching the 800m and was steadied from the heels of BURDEKIN. Laid in passing the 200m before being straightened by its rider.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide throughout.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: NEVILLE 'NOCKA' PEOPLES MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
TANGO FAME – Slow to begin.
 
BALDASSARE – Shifted out shortly after jumping and bumped FINAL MISSION.
 
BOLD SMUGGLER – Shifted wider shortly after jumping and bumped LASTING PROMISE. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
IKNOWYOU – Raced for the majority.
 
NASSAU COUNTY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
SUMMER SIZZLING – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
FINAL MISSION – Bumped shortly after jumping. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LASTING PROMISE – Bumped and taken wider shortly after jumping when BOLD SMUGGLER shifted wider.
 
Race 6: COL ANDERSON & LAURIE EISENTRAGER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 Metres
 
BLUE TONGUE – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m obliging its rider to stop riding momentarily and straighten the gelding.
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to begin.
 
YOU KAY SQUEEZE – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
BOSTON OF TUFFY – Apprentice Jockey S Pointon dropped her whip at the 200m.
 
CUSHY (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HIT 'EM UP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WAYFARER'S WAY – Began awkwardly.
