GENERAL
 
The following horses were declared late scratching’s by Stewards at 9.00am due to there being no riders available:
Race 1: MINT STREET
Race 2: DUBIOUS LOVE
Race 3: JAMAICAN
Race 5: BAUHINIA BEANS
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 4: Jockey N Day +1kg
Race 4: Apprentice Jockey J Devine - 0kg claim of 1kg claim.
 
Race 1: PRO TYRES - VALE KATE DEANE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
BAILE FERVOR – Began awkwardly. Bumped by BOATING on jumping.
 
ULTIMATE MAN – Jumped outwards and shifted wider shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
LEGOLAS – Slow to begin. Jockey N Day dropped his whip at the 100m.
 
OUTBACK STEP – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted out to obtain clear running passing the 250m and bumped POTESTAS forcing that runner wider on the track. Jockey G Semmens was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
TAHKIAN BUBBLES – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BONNET ROUGE – Became fractious in the mounting yard when the rider was legged on causing Jockey J Rudd to be harmlessly dislodged. Leapt in the air on jumping on was subsequently slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
IMPERIONESS – Momentarily held up passing the 200m when DEN END shifted out under pressure.
 
DEN END – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure passing the 200m before being straightened by its rider.
 
POTESTAS – Taken wider passing the 250m when OUTBACK STEP shifted out to obtain clear running. Shifted in passing the 150m when weakening.Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BOATING –Jumped outwards at the start and bumped BAILE FERVOR.
 
Race 2: YOKOHAMA @ PRO TYRES CLASS 3 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
 
BOYFRIEND MATERIAL – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey E Bell reported that after electing to go back to find a position on the rail from the wide draw, the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race and was disappointing in its overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DIRTY MERCHANT – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WOLF POINT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ARMSTRONG BAY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HURRICANE THUNDER – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BOURBON LANE – Weakened over the final 100m.
 
POCKET PICKER – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay out in the middle stages of the event.
 
Race 3: CENTURY BATTERIES @ PRO TYRES QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1300 Metres
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Slow to begin.
 
FERGHANA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FIELD MASTER – Began awkwardly.
 
INTOXICATION – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE LANDING – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in when weakening passing the 200m.
 
VALIANT JOAN – Began awkwardly and bumped MIDSUMMER NIGHT.
 
MISHANI TWILIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
MIDSUMMER NIGHT - Began awkwardly and bumped VALIANT JOAN. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 4: PRO TYRES NEWMARKET OPEN HANDICAP 1300 Metres
 
TESTATOR SILENS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
DEEP BREATH – Slow to begin.
 
HEYINGTON STATION – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and was obliged to steady from the heels of TANGO FAME which shifted out slightly passing the 800m whilst over-racing. Shifted wider at that point and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MORE THAN A STAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
HERE HE LOOMS – Slow to begin. Held up in the home straight and shifted wider passing the 150m to obtain clear running
 
MOTION LEGEND – Shifted out on jumping. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MAMARAGAN – After becoming ill after Race 3, Apprentice Jockey J Devine felt nauseous and required to have a drink resulting in her not being able to claim her 1kg allowance on the gelding. Apprentice Devine was examined by the on-course QAS officers and passed suitable to fulfill her remaining rides.
 
TANGO FAME – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and was obliged to steady from heels passing the 800m resulting in TANGO FAME shifting out slightly and inconveniencing HEYINGTON STATION.
 
PREFERRAL (NZ) – Due to there being a shortage of riders for the meeting at the time of Jockey declarations, Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer M Oates for Jockey N Day to ride the gelding 1kg over the allotted weight. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: BRIDGESTONE @ PRO TYRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
BLUE TONGUE – Slow to begin. Shifted out slightly rounding the home turn and bumped ALL VALOUR. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 100m when BITTERSWEET PLUCK laid in under pressure.
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BIJARA – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
YOU KAY SQUEEZE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL VALOUR – Began awkwardly. Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
FLOP TURN RIVER – Held up for clear running entering the home straight. Disappointed for a run passing the 100m when BLUE TONGUE shifted in and away from BITTERSWEET PLUCK.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Laid in under pressure passing the 100m and inconvenienced BLUE TONGUE. Jockey J Rudd was reminded of his obligation to stop riding and straighten his mount.
 
SHOALWATER BAY – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
