GENERAL
The following horse was declared a late scratching by Stewards at 9.15am due to there being no rider available:
Race 4: ARMSTRONG BAY
The following horse was declared a scratching yesterday at 2.57pm due to there being no rider available:
Race 6: BANGERS AND MAYO
Race 1: GDL BLACKALL / BALLARD HAULAGE MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
DAWN EMBERS – Shifted out on jumping.
DAY TO REMEMBER – Over raced in the early and middle stages and was steadied from the heels of DAWN EMBERS passing the 800m.
FRENCH EMPIRE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
SOME CAT – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
Race 2: ARDROSSAN ANGUS QTIS CLASS 4 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1000 Metres
RAPIDS – Blundered at the start and then shifted out and bumped LEGOLAS.
PERIGEAN – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
VALIANT JOAN – Jockey J Rudd was reminded of his obligation to ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the finish.
YUKAN ROSE – Began awkwardly.
LEGOLAS – Bumped by RAPIDS at the start. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey P Hamblin stated that the gelding was beaten for speed and at this stage of its preparation may be better suited to races over a longer distance than today’s event.
Race 3: THYNNE MACARTNEY LAWYERS / BSN TRADING CLASS 6 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1300 Metres
MOTION LEGEND – Commenced to lay out under pressure leaving the 250m and then became momentarily unbalanced passing the 100m. Apprentice G Semmens reported that she was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R Williams advised that the gelding will likely derive fitness benefit from today’s race after having not started for 6 weeks.
DECLASSIFY – Began awkwardly. Laid in near the 1000m and bumped with VICI. Continued to lay in for some distance thereafter. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
PARUES – Bumped on jumping by DECLASSIFY.
SHARPAY RULER – Slow to begin.
VICI – Bumped by DECLASSFY near the 1000m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HURRICANE THUNDER – Slow to begin. Apprentice M Mankelow reported that the gelding laid outwards in the home straight and as a result she was placed at some difficulty when riding out over the concluding stages.
Race 4: SAVAGE, GREALY, REED MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
ARMSTRONG BAY – Declared a late scratching by Stewards at 9.15am due to there being no rider available:
FREDDIE EDDIE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Emerald on 23 September 2025 and was cleared to start. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
ALL VALOUR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
TAHKIAN BUBBLES – Raced wide throughout. Passing the 50m momentarily inconvenienced when MISHANI TWILIGHT shifted out under pressure.
TRAPEZE FLYER – Began awkwardly.
WOLF POINT – Began awkwardly. Unable to obtain clear running from the 300m until a point near the 100m.
MISHANI TWILIGHT – Hung out under pressure in the home straight and as a result over the final 200m and had to be corrected by Apprentice G Semmens on a number of occasions, resulting in her not being able to ride out fully to the finish. Trainer R Little was advised that a warning has now been placed against the racing manners of the mare.
Race 5: SIMSTOCK RURAL OPEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
Correct weight was delayed allowing rider of fourth placed OCEAN EMPEROR, Jockey A Bakos-Schrapel, to view the photo finish. After viewing the photo, Jockey Bakos-Schrapel, along with stewards, was satisfied that the placings were correct and correct weight was declared.
DEEP BREATH – Bumped with ENTREPRENURIAL at the start. Momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of POWER SISTER leaving the 200m.
SINGLE HONOR – Inclined to lay out under pressure approaching and rounding the home turn.
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Began awkwardly and bumped with DEEP BREATH.
MAMARAGAN – Raced wide throughout.
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 6: HOMESTEAD AGRIBUSINESS LONGREACH CUP / COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1600 Metres
TESTATOR SILENS – Ducked in approaching the 1200m and carried UNIQUE PRINCE in onto HEYINGTON STATION, resulting in that runner being inconvenienced. TANGO FAME which was trailing was also inconvenienced.
SCORCHED LAND – When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey H Phillips advised that the gelding felt flat and in her opinion, may not have recovered fully from recent racing.
UNIQUE PRINCE – Inconvenienced approaching the 1200m.
BANGERS AND MAYO – Declared a scratching when there was no rider available to ride the gelding at the allocated weight.
HERE HE LOOMS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TANGO FAME – Inconvenienced approaching the 1200m.
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to begin.
YOU KAY SQUEEZE – Weakened from the 400m to be beaten approximately 24 lengths and was uncompetitive over the final 300m. Traner H Forster was advised that a warning has been placed against the performance of the mare.
