RACE 1:SAUNDERS ELECTRICS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000M
HIGHGROUND – Fractious in the barriers. Bumped with CURRY LEGEND at the start.
SCHMOOZER – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
REBELIOUS RED – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards bumping with CHIEF MONDO. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
BOURBON LANE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CURRY LEGEND – Fractious in the barriers and dislodged the cross over noseband which had to be refitted. Slow to begin and bumped with HIGHGROUND at the start.
CHIEF MONDO – Began awkwardly and bumped with REBELIOUS RED. Momentarily held up for a clear run entering the home straight and had to ease from the heels of HIGHGROUND and then shifted inwards near the 200m to obtain clear running.
RACE 2: GAVIN GROVES PLUMBING CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M
LASTING PROMISE – Reluctant to load into the barriers. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MANIC LIGHT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ALL TOO LUCKY – Began awkwardly. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. It was noted that apprentice M Mankelow dropped her right rein briefly near the 50m.
SALT LAKE BETTY - Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
SILENT ANGEL – Began awkwardly.
RACE 3: KENT CONSTRUCTION OPEN HANDICAP 1200M
TESTATOR SILENS – Began awkwardly and bumped with COLD ONE. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. It was noted that jockey M Gray dropped his whip approaching the 200m.
ECHO POINT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not started for a lengthy period and was cleared to start.
OCEAN EMPEROR – Raced wide throughout.
HEYINGTON STATION – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards at the start. Near the 400m, hung out momentarily and was briefly placed awkwardly at the heels of TESTATOR SILENS.
HURRICANE THUNDER – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LITTLE COINTREAU (NZ) - Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey M Heagney reported that the gelding resented the kickback in the early stages and as a result he shifted marginally wider passing the 800m to obtain clear running.
COLD ONE – Began awkwardly and bumped with TESTATOR SILENS. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.,
RACE 4: KATE DEANE MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1100M
MISHANI OUTLAW - Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TAKE A BREAK – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey S Galvin advised that his mount proved difficult to ride throughout as it was inclined to race ungenerously. Trainer M Pitman was advised that a warning has been issued against the racing manner of the gelding.
ZOUSTRONG – Began awkwardly, contacted the outside barrier partition and bumped with MISS THE MUSIC soon after.
MISS THE MUSIC – Bumped with ZOUSTRONG at the start. While over racing passing the 1000m, had to be steadied from the heels of BELLA RUSSIAN for a number of strides. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
TRIBESMAN - Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
FORTUNAS GIRL – Bumped with PITLECO LASS soon after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PITLECO LASS – Began awkwardly and bumped with FORTUNAS GIRL soon after the start.
SAINT ANNS – Began awkwardly. Passing the 400m had to steadied form heels for some distance until a point nearing the 200m.
BELLA RUSSIAN – Was very fractious in the mounting yard and Trainer C Austin was advised that a warning was issued against the mare’s pre-race manners. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after making contact with the mounting yard gate before entering the track and was cleared to start. Fractious in the barriers. Trainer C Austin was advised a warning was issued against the mare’s barrier manners. Raced wide throughout.
RACE 5: BARCALDINE CLEANING SERVICES BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200M
NASSAU COUNTY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CALYX ROSE – Shifted outwards approaching the 400m.
FREDDIE EDDIE – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout.
TRAPEZE FLYER – Inclined to lay in racing into the first turn near the 900m. Approaching the 400m, had to be steadied when placed in restricted room when racing between CALYX ROSE, which shifted outwards, and WOLF POINT. Apprentice A Meisner (CALYX ROSE) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
HOLY HOLY HOLY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice V Soulsby advised that her mount resented the kick back in the early stages, so she elected to shift wider rounding the turn near the 900m to obtain clear running.
SALTCLAY – Began awkwardly and bumped with WOLF POINT. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
WOLF POINT – Began awkwardly and bumped with SALTCLAY. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
VALIANT JOAN – Began awkwardly.
INTOXICATION – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result.
RACE 6: G & G BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000M
BOOMROUX - Began awkwardly and was buffeted between QUARRY MAN (NZ) and IMMINENT BOOM soon after the start and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
QUARRY MAN (NZ) – Trainer G Bell advised that due to the gelding’s trait of hanging out, apprentice A Meissner was instructed to carry the whip in her left hand but not utilize it with her hand off the rein. Began awkwardly and blundered at the start.
TELL US TOLL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
YOU KAY SQUEEZE – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
GUNBOAT – Began awkwardly.
POCKET PICKER – Raced wide throughout.
IMMINENT BOOM – Began awkwardly resulting in jockey M Gray striking the barrier partition with his right shoulder.
SCARLET HAZE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in on occasions when under pressure in the home straight.
THREEFOLD – Trainer T Parry was fined $100 under AR106(1) for presenting the mare to the mounting yard wearing blinkers which are not part of the current listed gear. Began awkwardly.
I'M OPINIONATED – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
BRISKET – Began awkwardly and lost ground as a result. Raced wide throughout. Had to switch outwards nearing the 100m to maintain clear racing room.
RACE 7: TJF MILK BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400M
FERGHANA – Slow to begin and bumped with YA LOVE HER at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CAPITAL BOSS – Slow to begin. Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of tying up and lameness in the hind legs. Trainer K Krogh was advised that a veterinary clearance is required prior to the gelding’s next start.
FINAL COMMENT – Raced wide throughout.
PARISIENNE PIPER – Carried wider at the start when CALL OUT jumped outwards sharply.
CALL OUT – Began awkwardly and jumped outwards sharply. Raced wide early.
DIRTY MERCHANT - Began awkwardly.
YA LOVE HER – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Bumped with FERGHANA at the start.
WANT TO BE PROUD – Momentarily impeded passing the 200m when FLOP TURN RIVER shifted outwards. Inclined to lay in on occasions in the home straight.
FINAL MISSION – Raced wide throughout.
FLOP TURN RIVER – Began awkwardly. Shifted outwards passing the 200m and briefly impeded WANT TO BE PROUD which was inclined to lay inwards under pressure.
