Race 1: CW QLD CLEANING SERVICES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
NASSAU COUNTY – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after jumping and was turned inwards by BITTERSWEET PLUCK which was inconvenienced at that point. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CALYX ROSE – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
FINAL COMMENT – Shifted in passing the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
YA LOVE HER – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when RUN FREDA RUN shifted out. Jockey R Faehr reported that being inconvenienced at the start proved detrimental to the gelding’s chances in today’s event. Trainer R Simpson reported that on returning to the stable YA LOVE HER showed signs of being lame in the off foreleg. Trainer Simpson was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary certificate before racing or trialling again.
 
RUN FREDA RUN – Began awkwardly and shifted out shortly after the start, inconveniencing YA LOVE HER and BITTERSWEET PLUCK. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Inconvenienced shortly after jumping and bumped NASSAU COUNTY when YA LOVE HER was inconvenienced and taken wider by RUN FREDA RUN. Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
 
HIT 'EM UP – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Race 2: DAVID & CLARE WALKER CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
IMMINENT BOOM – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
FRENCH EMPIRE – Declared a late scratching at 7.55am. Trainer R Simpson was reprimanded pursuant to LR36(1) for the late scratching declaration of the gelding.
 
FIELD MASTER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
PENSIERO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey E Bell reported that being slow to begin proved detrimental to the mare’s chances in today’s event.
 
BLOOMIN' GOLD – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Shifted out across heels passing the 300m to obtain clear running. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3: COOLA CARPETS & FURNITURE CLASS 3 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
 
PENINSULA – Blundered on jumping and was then bumped by MONDAY CHOICE shortly after.
 
SALT LAKE BETTY – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
GUNBOAT – Began awkwardly and shifted in on jumping taking TELL US TOLL inwards.
 
MONDAY CHOICE – Crowded and taken inward shortly after jumping and bumped PENINSULA.
 
TELL US TOLL – Taken inwards shortly after the start and crowded MONDAY CHOICE. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 4: O'BRIENS GARAGE 2026 BATTLE OF THE BUSH LONGREACH QUALIFIER OPEN PLATE 1200 Metres
 
ALL ENGLAND – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on to performance ofALL ENGLAND, Apprentice Jockey M Mankelow reported that the gelding was resuming from a spell today and would benefit from the fitness gained in today’s event. Apprentice Mankelow also added that in her opinion ALL ENGLAND resented the kickback from today’s racing surface.
 
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure passing the 180m before being straightened by its rider. Trainer R Williams was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of a rider for the gelding.
 
KA BLING – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
OCEAN EMPEROR – Laid in under pressure when weakening over the concluding stages.
 
SCORCHED LAND – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SCHMOOZER – Momentarily shifted out under pressure passing the 200m before being straightened by its rider.
 
Race 5: LONGREACH SHOW SOCIETY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
The start of this race was declared a false start by Starter G Browne acting under AR202(1)(a) in that the barriers did malfunction. Stewards interviewed Mr Browne and the riders involved and inquired into what had occurred at the start. It was subsequently established that when the start was affected the barrier gates opened at different intervals and most of the field was disadvantaged. Stewards, after considering all the evidence and taking into account the circumstances in which the race was run, declared Race 5 to be a no race and ordered that all bets placed on the event be refunded.
