Race 1: Blenners Tpt/Fibreglass Tpt Equipment Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – GENERAL BEEJAY 2nd – TIERES ROCK 3rd – FAST ANNIE 4th – GIVE ME TIME

Jockey K Rockett who failed to arrive on course in time to fulfil his engagement to ride NANYUKI in this event was replaced was replaced by S Wilson. Stewards subsequently fined Jockey K Rockett the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR.85B.

TIERES ROCK – Jumped in at the start crowding runners drawn inside.

WILL HE FLY – Was crowded between runners at the start after jumping awkwardly.

MUCH ABOUT – Was inconvenienced by another runner on jumping.

ASTRONAUT – Was inclined to race ungenerously near the 700m shifting in marginally and incoveniencing another runner.

LET’S SEE ACTION – Was slowly into stride. Was inconvenvienced near the 700m by another runner which shifted in marginally. Jockey W D’Avila reported that the gelding had raced ungenerously throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ALEXADER PARADE – Made the home turn wide.

Race 2: Kidner Contracting Bracelet Open Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS 2nd – BESIEGED 3rd – FAST ‘N’ FEROCIOUS 4th – CHEVAL ARGENTE

CHEVAL ARGENTE – Jumped awkwardly.

ELECTRIC BLUE – Was slowly into stride.

BESIEGED – Was inclined to hang out down the running.

Race 3: Ravenshoe Timbers Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – TETE DE SEAU 2nd – HYDRIVE 3rd – ISADOR AMORE 4th – JOKES ASEIDE

ISADOR AMORE – Jumped out at the start crowding another runner.

TETE DE SEAU – Jumped in at the start crowding another runner.

SLIPNOT – Was crowded between runners at the start. Was eased out of the event prior to the home turn. Jockey F Edwards reported that the gelding had never travelled comfortably on the firm going. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer’s representative Mr. A Marshall was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

JOKES ASEIDE – Shifted out near the 200m inconveniencing another runner. Jockey D Green was instructed to excercise more care.

BEADSWORTH – Was inconvenienced near the 200m by another runner which shifted out. Jockey B Swaffer reported that the gelding had never travelled comfortably on the firm going. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 4: LD Lucey Memorial QTIS Maiden Handicap 1350 metres:
1st – SILVER STAR 2nd – MAKING HEADLINES 3rd – IZZY’S KEEPER (NZ) 4th – MOLONGLE DAWN

On returning to scale Jockey S Wilson made application to Stewards to have the filly MONASHEE LASS declared a non-starter. After taking evidence from Starter Mr R Gardiner and Jockey S Wilson and viewing available patrol footage of the start Stewards determined that Monashee Lass had been struck by the outside partition of the barrier gate which had sprung back after opening causing the filly to baulk and lose ground at the start. Acting under the provisions of AR.134A Stewards declared MONASHEE LASS a non-starter and ordered that all monies wagered on the filly be refunded in full. Further Stewards ordered that all winning wagers on the race be subject to deductions of 9 cents win and 10 cents place on the face value of the betting ticket.

ZULU AIR – Shifted in marginally near the 700m inconveniencing another runner. Jockey F Edwards was instructed to excercise more care. Was eased out of the event approaching the home turn. Jockey F Edwards reported that the filly had never travelled comfortably on the firm going. A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off hind. Trainer Mr. S Potiris was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the filly being permitted to race again.

MOLONGLE DAWN – Near the 700m was inconvenienced by another runner which shifted in marginally.

CARRY ME LAD – Jockey S Kaya reported that the gelding had never travelled comfortably on the firm going. Trainer’s Representative Mr. A Marshall advised Stewards that the stable now intended to retire the gelding from racing. Nonetheless Mr. Marshall was advised that, should circumstances change, the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

Race 5: Tirrabella Cashmere - Volvo Trucks Mount Garnet Cup Open Handicap 1350 metres:
1st – RATTUS CONATUS 2nd – MIDNITE RAID 3rd – BO ROSSA 4th – SEAFIGHT

SEAFIGHT – Was slowly into stride.

BO ROSSA – Was slowly into stride.

JUNEE BOY – Raced wide in the back straight.
