Race 1: SHANE KNUTH/PURE COUNTRY/WATTO'S BOB ATKINSON MEMORIAL BRACELET BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M

REEMYYA (NZ) – Was declared a late scratching at 10.00am when no rider was available to fulfil the engagement.
 
GROVERS PREDICTION – Was declared a late scratching at 10.00am when no rider was available to fulfil the engagement.
 
INJADA – Trainer B. Bailey advised stewards that it is his intentions that the horse will be ridden with cover off pace from its wide barrier draw if circumstances permit. This was broadcasted to patrons via the race caller. Was ridden accordingly. Shifted in on jumping bumping BOOVEY.
 
SOGOYA – Worked hard during its preliminary. Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BRING ME TO LIFE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
CALM IS POWER – Began awkwardly and was slightly hampered by its barrier gates which swung back.
 
LUCKY ROLLA – Shifted out bumping SWEET CANDY near the 800 metres.
 
BOOVEY – Its barrier gates swung back on jumping however was not hampered. Bumped on jumping.
 
SWEET CANDY – Began awkwardly. Bumped near the 800 metres.
 
BOOMALINA – Fractious in the barriers. Was slightly hampered on jumping when its barrier gates swung back.
 
Following the running of this race the barrier gate situation was brought to the attention of the starter who carried out further maintenance on the barriers.  
 
Race 2: SMITH BROTHERS TPT / CMC MUSTERING GUNNAWARRA SHIELD QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M

DEAL AN ACE – As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. 
 
GUAPO – Slow into stride and hampered by TOW THE LINE which shifted in.
 
ELLIE’S DREAM – Slow to begin. Steadied leaving the 400 metres when attempting a narrow run to the inside of NO LOVE LOST. Stewards questioned App L. Guernier regarding a narrow run near the 300 metres to the inside of NO LOVE LOST. Ms Guernier agreed it was a tight run that she had secured, however was advised to show greater care when attempting similar runs in that manner.
 
BRAVE INTENT – Blundered own its own accord a short distance after the start.  
 
NO LOVE LOST – Restrained near the 300 metres when inconvenienced by ELLIE’S
DREAM which improved in to a narrow run to its inside, in this incident stewards did note a slight shift inwards by NO LOVE LOST and that the gelding was not travelling well at that stage. Following this incident NO LOVE LOST was not pressured to the line and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in its off foreleg. Trainer B. Thomson was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness must be provided prior to NO LOVE LOST trialing or racing again.  

SOUTHERN FRONT – Wide for the majority of the race.
 
TOW THE LINE – Shifted in on jumping hampering GUAPO. Race wide in the early stages.
 
SUPER TWENTY THREE – Outside barrier gate swung back on jumping but did not hamper the gelding.
 
Race 3: LINDSAY RURAL / NORWELD AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE 1350M

FIRE SPHERE – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up leaving the 100 metres.
 
It was noted by stewards that on jumping a piece of protective foam from the barriers became loose and landing in front of the barriers which was retrieved. 
 
Race 4: SILVERBACK UTE TRAYS / HONEYCOMBES SALES AND SERVICE CLASS B HANDICAP 1350M
 
BLEDISLOE (NZ) – Threw its head in air leaving the 500 metres on its own accord and continued to do so for a short distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

RIVALON – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 500 metres.
 
Race 5: ROC'S/CENTRAL TYRE MAGIC MILLIONS/ROB KOCH MEM/FNQ U&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1680M

MELANIN (NZ) – Shifted in at the start bumping with TEN SCHILLING. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
TEN SCHILLING – Bumped on jumping.
 
DOMINANT ROSE – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
