GENERAL
Appr Jky S Bailey did not ride at this meeting due to illness. Appr Jky Bailey was advised that she would require a medical certificate prior to resuming race riding. Rider replacements as per the Stewards Summary. Due to Trainer P Randall having two horses in Race 2 of which one he was riding. Mr Randall advised his riding instructions on STARTLING CAT and RUBY DEN JEU. Mr Randall advised it was his intention on STARTLING CAT to take a forward position from the wide barrier, his horse is first up and he was hoping to take a sit behind the leaders or get a soft lead. His Instructions to Jky P Hamblin on RUBY DEN JEU was to be positive out of the gates and left the riding instructions to Jky Hamblin.

RACE 1: RESTECH SOLUTIONS & MPK BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP- BASE RATING 43- 1050 M

GOBBLED- Raced at the rear for the majority of the event.

AREYA TUCHUZY- Slow to begin, then failed to go the early speed and drifted back towards the rear of the field where it raced for the majority.

AYE EYE BOOM- Laid in while racing in the home straight.

DUTCHESS OF ARGYLL- Declared a late scratching by Stewards at 1.07pm. Trainer Mr G Schrader advised that he scratched the mare through Racing Australia at 8.00am due to the horse not eating this morning and in case the mare became unwell. It was the opinion of Stewards that an administration error occurred with the scratching having not been put through from 7.45am up to and including 1.07pm. As a result, Mr Schrader’s explanation for the scratching of DUCHESS OF ARGYLL was accepted. As betting had commenced on the race Stewards ordered that all monies invested on Duchess of Argyll prior to 1.07pm be refunded in full less the following deductions to apply- W- 21c, Pl-17c- BLACK COUNTRY, 2nd Pl- 17c- AYE EYE BOOM, 3rd Pl- 17c- SHEDENZE. Stewards will contact Racing Australia in coming days to ascertain what had occurred regarding this matter.

BLACK COUNTRY- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RACE 2: WOODAG & THE Q HOTEL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

LOVE AIN’T FREE- Slow to begin.

STARTLING CAT- Stewards accepted Trainer Mr. P Randall’s explanation for his late declaration of a rider in this event, in that due to an administration error on his part where he engaged himself as the rider and then removed himself at the same time on the 5th February 2026. Acting under the provision of LR67(1) Mr Randall was reprimanded under the rule.

WINNING WILL- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RUBY DU JEU- Raced in a three-wide position for the majority of the event.

DANCING TROFFEA- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RACE 3: MILES IGA & CHAPLINS BUTCHERY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP- BASE RATING 39- 1200M

REIGNING ALPHA- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

SUISEE SCANDAL- Fractious when being loaded. Trainer Ms G Doig was advised by Stewards acting under the provision of AR75 that the horse would have a Warning placed on it for its pre-race manners.

HERE’S TO POWER- Slow to begin. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority.

TAKARA STAR- Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. Ran on strongly over the finals stages while racing wide.

CASINO CAT- Raced towards the rear of the field before improving into the race from the 200m and then ran on strongly over the final stages of the event. Tended to lay in while racing in the home straight.

RACE 4: MURILLA HARDWARE SUPPLIES 2026 MURILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP- BASE RATING 70 (SCALED 1-5KG)- 1200M

FLANK SPEED- Declared a late scratching at 12.22pm by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice. Displaying some lameness to the right hind leg with an associated minor superficial cut. Betting on this event wasn’t affected by the scratching. Trainer Mr W Baker was advised that the mare would require a Veterinary certificate prior to racing again.

MILTON ROAD- Lost near side winker while being loaded. Replaced at the barriers by the Starter. Appr Jky Ms J Emmerson advised the performance of her mount was somewhat disappointing, it began well and travelled okay. He began to lose ground from the 400m and when asked for a further effort the gelding had nothing left to offer. It was his first attempt on this type of racing surface and may not have been suited by the conditions today. Trainer Mr L Hatch advised that MILTON ROAD would be sent out for a spell and gave an undertaking that he would report to stewards any abnormalities if any arise in coming days.

THIS IS ONE- On returning to scale Appr Jky B Baker advised the Stewards that she dropped her whip at the 100m point which proved difficult for the gelding to be fully tested over the final stages of the event.

START STRUTTING- Raced towards the rear of the field for the majority.

TRAPEZE LEGEND- On arrival at the barriers, staff had to adjust the crossover noseband on the gelding which was placed outside the bridle. Trainer Ms. G Doig was reminded by Stewards acting under the provision of AR 106(1) of her obligation to ensure all gear placed on horses is fitted correctly. Post race veterinary examination was undertaken due to the performance of the horse. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.

MR WANDJI- Fractious when being loaded. Began awkwardly. Jumped in the air at the start. Raced wide for the majority.

RACE 5: GDL MILES (LIVESTOCK & REAL ESTATE) BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP- BASE RATING 48- 1500M

BASIL’S BOW- Made minor contact with a stationary vehicle at the barriers. A pre-race veterinary examination was ordered to be undertaken. This examination revealed no abnormalities, and the gelding was subsequently passed fit to race.

SPOOKY SPIRIT- Laid in while in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.

QUEST OF QUESTS- Began awkwardly tightening TIME TO TESTIFY to the outside as the start was affected.

TIME TO TESTIFY- Tightened for room between runners at the start and failed to improve into the race despite the best efforts of the rider.

SAINT MARTIN- Blundered at the start and lost ground. Raced towards the rear of the event for the majority. Failed to improve into the race despite the best efforts of the rider.
