When able to settle at the rear of the field in the middle stages, gelding travelled comfortably and was placed under pressure from the 600 metres, at which time it made steady ground, however peaked on its run near the 100 metres. Further stated that approaching the 400 metres, he had to ease from the heels of another runner which shifted ground forward of him. In the straight, the gelding was inclined to lay in and as a result was not placed under full pressure.
