Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by S. McGovern for failing to fulfil his engagement on this day.
Race 1: Blue River Landscape Supplies Qld Class 6 Plate - 1100m
FRAIDSO - Slow to begin.
LANSDOWNE ROAD - Brushed in the early part of the straight.
KATHERINE GORGE - Brushed in the early part of the straight.
BON TEMPS - Laid in in the straight.
SNITZEM - When questioned regarding the poor performance, rider T. Williams explained that the horse travelled keenly throughout and refused to settle and as a result travelled wide and covered excessive ground.
Race 2: Wes Mackay Maiden H'cap - 1050m
MOONSHINE MAGGIE - Declared a late scratching at 1.45 pm after refusing to load into the barriers. Trainer R. Binder was advised that a further barrier certificate must be provided prior to its next race start.
Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

6 cent in the dollar for 3rd place Maroon Blue

WATERBELLS - Bumped on jumping away.
MISHANI TRADER - Bumped on jumping away. Had to be checked rounding the turn near the 500m when racing tight to the inside of another runner.
HELOW TUCKER - Began awkwardly and shortly after was severely checked when crowded between runners and lost considerable ground.
WATERBELLS - Had to be checked rounding the turn near the 500m when racing tight to the inside another runner.
RED RADA - Shifted in near the 500m despite the efforts of its rider causing a tightening to other runners, and after this continued to hang in and was unable to be placed under pressure in the straight. Trainer K. Price was advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to its next race start.
Race 3: Telstra Business Centre Mackay QTIS 3yo H'cap - 1050m
IMPROPER ROCKET - Crowded at start and lost ground.
JORDANS JET - Began awkwardly.
THE TEENY HASS - Bumped heavily shortly after the start.
THREERIVERSHOTEL - Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 100m.
SUPREME ROCKET - Raced wide throughout.
Race 4: Woolam Constructions Benchmark 60 H'cap - 1200m
SERENE PEARL - Steadied near the 900m when racing tight to the inside of another runner.
GEARSTICK - Raced wide throughout.
IRON JACKET - Rider M. Powell was questioned regarding the performance of the horse. He explained that after beginning well his mount was able to take up a prominent position where it travelled comfortably throughout, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. Trainer L. Wright was at a loss to explain the poor performance other than, in his opinion, the removal of blinkers may have been detrimental to the gelding's performance. He undertook to report back to stewards any abnormality that becomes apparent with the horse which may have had a bearing on today's performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 5: AE Smith Air Conditoning Benchmark 60 H'cap - 1200m
MOONLIGHT CAFÉ - Began awkwardly.
AUTHENTIC SWING - Shifted out and bumped another runner passing the 100m.
REAL DREAMS - Bumped passing the 100m.
BLEACHING - Raced wide throughout.
FROM THE DARKNESS - Rider T. Williams was reprimanded for raising her whip arm above shoulder height.
DENIS THE DUDE - A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which weakened over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 6: Ginger's Coldroom Hire Benchmark 65 H'cap - 1560R..metres
IDLE SITUATION - Declared a late scratching at 4.02 pm after the gelding was found to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer G. Baker was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

BLU AXIS - Held up rounding the home turn.
Race 7: Joan Oliver Memorial Open H'cap - 1300m
STAY THE NIGHT - Slow to begin.
LEXCEN - Bled from both nostrils during the race. As this was the first occasion on which it has bled, trainer M. Dale was advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.
