LATE RIDING CHANGES:

When Jockey A. Lawrence did not renew his licence by the prescribed time, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

When Jockey M. Morris was dually engaged for CHAMPAGNE TALES and FAST FOCUS, as a result of a misunderstanding, stewards permitted Jockey W. D'Avila to be substituted as the rider of CHAMPAGNE TALES.

Race 1: Connole Carlisle QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1300 metres
1st NEVETUS 2nd MISHANI INVADA 3rd DASH OF WIZZARD 4th - SUNSET IN NEW YORK

HOT PLATE - Began awkwardly then raced ungenerously in the early stages.

NEVETUS - When the pace was slow in the middle stages, had to be continually steadied away from the heels of runners in front. Bumped by another runner near the winning post.

SUNSET IN NEW YORK - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

MISHANI INVADA - Rounding the home turn was buffeted between runners. Over the concluding stages shifted in and bumped another runner.


Race 2: Telstra Business Centre Mackay Maiden Plate - 1300 metres
1st LAMERICAN 2nd CASH FOR MURTAL 3rd DRAGON GOLD 4th - BOCEPHUS

COOL DELIGHT - Slow to begin.

REGGIE ROCKET - and DRAGON GOLD - Bumped on jumping.

ROYAL WOLF and STORM IN AFRICA - Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

BOCEPHUS - Shortly after straightening was inclined to lay out, then shifted out abruptly and hampered CASH FOR MURTAL. A post-race veterinary examination of BOCEPHUS did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr G. Wehlow was told that a warning will be placed on the gelding's racing manners. Jockey T. Bannon was fined $100 under A.R. 142 for failing to weigh in for 4th on BOCEPHUS.

CASH FOR MURTAL - Hampered shortly after straightening for home.

Race 3: Woollam Constructions Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - GINGA GAL 2nd DOTHERIGHTHING 3rd BARBOUGE 4th - INTRUDING

FIREFRONT - A pre-race veterinary examination of the mare, which raced at Mackay on Thursday last, cleared FIREFRONT to take its place in the field. Slow to begin.

HAIL MAHER - Reluctant to load into the barriers and dislodged its bridle, which had to be refitted, then refused to load into the barriers. Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 1.09 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on the mare be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

20¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, GINGA GAL
11¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, GINGAL GAL
22¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, DOTHERIGHTHING
25¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, BARBOUGE

Trainer Mr W. Winters was told that he must obtain a barrier certificate prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

INTRUDING - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

VIRTUITY - Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 4: 7 Local News BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1800 metres
1st DE LA DILO 2nd FRUMBOLI 3rd INSTINCTIVE MOVE 4th – STOP CRYING

GOSSES BLUFF - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

When the pace steadied passing the 1300 metres REAL YUMMY, PERFECTLY ALIGNED and CARLSON'S FELT over-raced.

INSTINCTIVE MOVE - Passing the 1300 metres had to be continually steadied away from the heels of runners in front.

FRUMBOLI - Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn, shifted out under pressure in the straight and bumped with MAGGIE'S PAL on a number of occasions.

Race 5: Kern Group Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st STRATEGIC GLORY 2nd CHOSEN SON 3rd GLORIOUS GEORGE 4th - ROFRANOZ

JUST CALL ME LOUIE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event.


Race 6: Hot FM Class 4 Handicap - 1000 metres
1st WINGED WARRIOR 2nd ELJAY ATOM 3rd ACCIDENTAL 4th - WILDEBEAST

CHAMPAGNE TALES - When Jockey M. Morris was inadvertently dually engaged, stewards permitted Jockey W. D'Avila to be substituted as rider of the gelding.

FIELDS OF TUSCANY - A pre-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which raced at Mackay on Thursday last, cleared it to take its place in the field.

DASH FOR VIZ - Slow to begin.

FAST FOCUS - Shortly after the start had to be steadied when crowded between runners.

HI MACKAY - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event. Leaving the 200 metres bumped by another runner.

CHAMPAGNE TALES - Passing the 700 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

ACCIDENTAL - Leaving the 200 metres shifted out in search of clear running and bumped another runner.

Race 7: Chaptech 2015 Mackay Cup Open Handicap - 1800 metres
1st - HOLDONTOYAHORSES 2nd - MARKOUT 3rd - CASTLE EXPRESS 4th - NEVZLIN

FIELDS OF TUSCANY - Slow to begin.

FERMENT - Began awkwardly with its head up.

BARAMUL BULLET - Shortly after the start became awkwardly placed on heels, then raced keenly in the early stages.

PULL NO PUNCHES - Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.

HOLDONTOYAHORSES - Rounding the home turn improved onto heels and had to be checked, then had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance.

Race 8: Carlton Mid BenchMark 79 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - MARINA SANDS 2nd - CYCLONE KAN 3rd - HANDYMAN BOB 4th - SHEPIKTUS

SHOWMETHEMONEY - The start was delayed when the gelding was reluctant to load into the barriers and dislodged its bridle. Then, after being placed in the barriers, the horse broke through and galloped for a considerable distance. Stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 4.25 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on SHOWMETHEMONEY be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

1¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, MARINA SANDS
1¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, CYCLONE KAN
