Race 1: Pioneer Valley Mackay Region QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st EMBRACE THE PAIN 2nd THE GIRLS IN PARIS 3rd OUR BOY HOUDINI 4th - SAVANNAH ORO

EMBRACE THE PAIN - Shifted out at the start and made contact with another runner.

SAVANNAH ORO - Contacted by another runner at the start.

BAMBY - Approaching the turn near the 900 metres had to be steadied when momentarily crowded for room.

When the pace slowed in the middle stages THE GIRLS IN PARIS, BAMBY and HIDDEN DAISY all over-raced and had to be steadied from the heels of runners in front.

GONDWANA BAY - When the pace steadied in the middle stages, improved onto heels and blundered.

THE GIRLS IN PARIS - In the middle stages over-raced and had to be steadied from heels. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: Sarina Mackay Region Class 6 Plate - 1300 metres
1st MISTER BOOZE 2nd PRETTY VACANT 3rd MISHANI GLADIATOR 4th - HARD LIQUOR

HORACIO - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

HARD LIQUOR - After being crossed passing the 1100 metres was inclined to race keenly with its head up.

MAHRAJAAN - When questioned regarding the gelding racing back in the field, the rider said that after beginning only fairly and when runners improved quickly to his outside, he elected to restrain his mount in an attempt to take up an off-pace position. However, when runners then improved to his inside, he had to restrain further in an attempt to find a position closer to the running rail.

Race 3: Isaac Coast Mackay Region Maiden Plate - 1050 metres
1st - LIFE OF CRIME 2nd DOOM CITY DRAGON 3rd THANK YOU 4th - LI'L BIT GREEDY

VIOLET'S DRAFT - Slow to begin.

LIFE OF CRIME - Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out from the 600 metres.

SOUL SERENADE - Blundered badly on jumping away.

DOOM CITY DRAGON - Hampered at the start.

LI'L BIT GREEDY - Passing the 700 metres had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

CORONATION JOURNEY - Approaching the 600 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

HUSSENRUN - Near the 200 metres had to be steadied when momentarily crowded for room.

Race 4: Hibiscus Coast Mackay Region Handicap - 1050 metres
1st VO HEART 2nd ARCATRAN 3rd ADDICTION TO ROCK 4th - JACOPO

HEARTFELT QUEST - Became fractious in the barriers, reared and dislodged its rider, Jockey M. Morris. The gelding was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Was slow to begin.


Race 5: Northern Beaches Mackay Region BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st LOKUM 2nd CANDENTE 3rd TRACONI 4th - KAREELA QUEEN

KAREELA QUEEN - Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight, then passing the 200 metres was momentarily hampered.

LOKUM - Slow to begin.

TRACONI - Passing the 150 metres Jockey A. Butler lost the use of his offside rein.


Race 6: Isaac Country Mackay Region BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st OVER THE CHOICE 2nd PERFECT RAINBOW 3rd VERMITHRAX 4th - PRELUSIVE STRIKE

HEAD DRAGON - Due to a misunderstanding, Jockey G. Watson was declared as rider of the gelding. Stewards permitted Jockey S. Sheargold to be substituted. Began awkwardly with its head up, struck its rider in the face and lost ground as a result.

VO TREASURE - Slipped behind on jumping.

PERFECT RAINBOW - Near the 700 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied. Raced in restricted room in the home straight and did not obtain clear running until passing the 100 metres.

Race 7: Keswick Island Mackay Region BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1560 metres
1st - MOSSIMO 2nd - MAL'S PRIDE 3rd - SHIKRA 4th - MY GIRL CHARLIE

BURT - Prior to the running of the race connections advised stewards that it was their intention that the gelding be ridden further forward. Public announcements were made to that effect. After being ridden along in the early stages the gelding took up a midfield position. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened noticeably, did not reveal any abnormalities.

ESCARPMENT - Passing the 200 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of another runner, which shifted out marginally.

LA RIVE DROITE - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the mare, App. Darren Evans explained that his mount was inclined to over-race throughout the early and middle stages and refused to settle. He attributed this as the reason the horse did not have a finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormalities.

LAMERICAN - When questioned regarding the poor performance, Jockey J. P. Stanley explained that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout the run and shortly after straightening for home made contact with another runner when attempting to obtain clear running. However, from that point the mare failed to respond to his urgings and was disappointing. Trainer R. Binder will be interviewed relative to leaving the course early, and will be advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance prior to LAMERICAN being permitted to race again.

Race 8: Mackay Marina Mackay Region QTIS Class 3 Plate - 1200 metres
1st - METEOROS 2nd - MAMSELLE CORDAY 3rd - CHOSEN SON 4th - MADAM PINK

COVENTRY - Began awkwardly, resulting in the right elbow of Jockey D. Simmons making contact with the dividing partition of the barriers. Contacted by another runner shortly after straightening.

MISHANI VIKING - Shortly after the start clipped heels and blundered.

METEOROS - Shortly after straightening shifted out and made contact with another runner.


MOLONGLE CHIEF - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
