As riders A. Butler and L. Tilley were indisposed, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
 
Race 1: Mojo Benchmark 60 H’cap – 2000m

CATASTROPHE KISS – Began awkwardly and shifted out shortly after the start, tightening horses to its outside.
 
THE AROD – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
CAPTAINS WAY – Tightened for room shortly after the start. When questioned into the disappointing performance,. Apprentice T. Williams stated the gelding never travelled throughout the event and failed to respond to her riding from leaving the 1000m and was disappointing. Stable representative Miss J. Doolan advised stewards she was disappointed with its performance, however was of the opinion the gelding may be suited to a stronger rider which will be the intention going forward from today. Miss Doolan further gave an undertaking to advise stewards of anything that comes to her attention in the following days that may have had a bearing on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
WINSOMEMORE – Had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: Man About Menswear & Formal Hire Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1560m
 
DOUBOS – Fractious in the tie-up stalls prior to the race.Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
DANE CHEVAL – Over-raced for a short distance near the 1200m.
 
OPTION – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
FAR NORTH – Improved onto heels over the concluding stages and went to the line without being fully tested over the final 50m.
 
HALFBLOOD PRINCE – Rider S. Sheargold dropped his whip near the 250m.
 
Race 3: Hallie Connors Memorial QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1300m
 
BOLD AS ICE – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with its inside barrier partition, and was then tightened for room shortly after the start and shifted in abruptly, becoming unbalanced and causing rider J. Stanley to also become unbalanced. A veterinary examination following the race revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
BIDAFLARE – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 
TUSCAN TENOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SARABAH – When questioned into the improved performance of the filly, trainer O. Cains stated at the horse’s previous start it met with interference during the race and lost ground in an incident near the 900m, and whilst she did expect some improvement was surprised at today’s performance and did add the horse was stepping up in distance. She further added she herself had not supported the horse today, however the owner would have placed a minor bet only on the filly.
 
Race 4: Seven News Mackay Ratings Band 0-60 H’cap – 1050m
 
KILLER LOVE – Slow to begin and was bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RED HOT ROMEO – Jumped inwards at the start, bumping another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CRAIGLEA TICKER – Jumped inwards at the start, bumping another runner. Raced in restricted room near the 900m and was steadied.
 
MAGIC SCENE – Bumped by another runner at the start. Was held up for clear running from leaving the 500m until entering the home straight and unable to improve.
 
THE FLASH ONE – Shifted in slightly near the 900m, placing runners to its inside in restricted room.Rider S. Wiseman was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
STRONG WILL – Raced in restricted room near the 900m for a short distance. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LIKER – Shifted ground outwards when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
TEN GOAL POLO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: Natural Body & Beauty Clinic Ratings Band 0-70 H’cap – 1200m
 
ELJAY ATOM – Inconvenienced shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
JUSTALAD – Inconvenienced and lost ground shortly after the start.
 
LYRICAL SON – Inconvenienced and lost ground shortly after the start. Shifted in under hard riding passing the winning post, inconveniencing another runner. Jockey S. Wilson was reprimanded and advised to show greater care.
 
POUND STERLING – Shifted in shortly after the start, hampering runners to its inside. Held up for clear running and unable to improve from entering the home straight until leaving the 200m, where apprentice Z. White shifted to the inside to gain clear running.
 
CRUISE POWER – Shifted out shortly after the start, tightening runners to its outside.
 
OAKFIELD COSTA – Raced wide in the early stages before improving forward to race outside the leader near the 800m.
 
GLOBAL ROCKET – Eased out of the race leaving the 700m when the rider felt the horse went amiss.A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be stepping short in its near hind leg.Stable representative Mr J. Doolan, was advised that a veterinary clearance must be furnished prior to the horse trialling to the satisfaction of stewards and being permitted to race again.
 
PRINCELY – Shifted out under pressure near the 150m, inconveniencing another runner. Jockey S. Wiseman, rider of PRINCELY, was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
MEDIA VITA – Hampered near the 150m. Inconvenienced passing the winning post, having to be restrained. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
THE BAKER – Restrained near the 150m to avoid the heels.
 
Race 6: Woodmans Group Mackay Amateur Cup Open H’cap – 1800m
 
HELLUVA HOFFA – Slow to begin.
 
VEGAS FLYER – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
CHIVADAHLII – Steadied from heels approaching the 1200m. Hampered near the 1100m by another runner which laid in. Laid in on straightening for a short distance.
DAZZLING PRIDE – Laid in near the 1100m, hampering another runner. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1000m.
 
CHEEKY RED – Had a tendency to hang out after passing the 600m and shifted wider on the track.
 
FASTNET FLYER – Held up for clear running from the 300m until leaving the 200m.
 
PERFECTLY ALIGNED – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
MACHO TYCOON – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
TUXEDO BOY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 7: Maria Stebhens Memorial Weight For Age – 1300m
 
FRIENDLY DRAGON – Bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced near the 1000m.
 
STELLAR KNIGHT – Inconvenienced passing the 1000m, having to be restrained and lost ground.
 
APPLE THIEF – Dislodged its tongue-tie on jumping and race ungenerously for some distance, shifting in near the 1000m, inconveniencing a runner and then shifted out, inconveniencing another runner and finished tailed off.
 
GOLD CUFFLINKS – Held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 100m.
 
GRACEVILLE – Faltered near the 200m and was restrained out of the race.A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have injured its near foreleg.A veterinary clearance must be provided prior the mare being permitted to race again.

HEROISM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
