Race 1: Laser Clinic Australia BM60 Handicap 2000 metres
 
DAWSON DELIGHT – Hampered on jumping away. Raced three wide without cover from the vicinity of the 1400m.
 
HE'S WOW CLASS – Rider R Wiggins reported that the gelding had got down on its bumpers during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to both hind legs.
 
FLEETINGLY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight. Rider L Tilley reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event.
 
ANNMARIE – Hampered shortly after jumping.
 
NO HARM DONE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Trainer O Cairns reported that in her opinion NO HARM DONE may not have handled the step up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
EXELANT MOSH – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out throughout the event
 
MISHANI PATRIOT – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Hampered shortly after jumping away.
 
 
Race 2: Smartstate Rentals QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 1100 metres
 
FIRE KING – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Raced in restricted room during the middle stages when racing to the inside of ROTHERO ESSGEE.
 
ROTHERO ESSGEE – Laid in during the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
CHERBALENA – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after jumping away.
 
GOSSIPING GIRL – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 900m became awkwardly placed on heels after attempting to find cover.
 
IMPULSIVE FLIGHT – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after jumping away.
 
MISHANI DUDE – Became awkward in its stride approaching the 1000m and shifted out abruptly. Approaching the 900m had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of AHOOSHU.
 
MISHANI TSUNAMI – Was declared a late scratching at 1.00pm on veterinary advice after becoming loose and galloping a significant distance prior to entering the mounting enclosure. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 1.00pm as following:

Place Bets AHOOSHU - 1 cent
Place Bets (For 2nd) FIRE KING - 3 cents
Place Bets (For 3rd) ATTACKABEEL - 1 cent

Following the running of this event Jockey C Eaton was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and was passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.
 
Race 3: TAB Long May We Play Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
SHEPHERD OF FIRE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MAN O' ROSS – Approaching the 800m had to be checked to avoid the heels of OYASHIO who was carried in by NOT TONIGHT DEAR, which was carried in by KAHAYLAAN which shifted in when insufficiently clear to do so. Jockey C. Spry, rider of KAHAYLAAN, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when allowing his mounts to shift ground in future.
 
CAPTAIN FOX – Difficult to load. Hampered passing the 500m.
 
BILL 'N' TED – Permission was granted for the gelding to race bare behind as BILL ‘N’ TED was unable to be reshod behind the barriers after losing a plate
 
FREE DAWN – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHEYENNE BEACH – Hampered passing the 800m
 
CLIFF'S CHOICE – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides approaching the 900m after being tightened for room by NOT TONIGHT DEAR. Made the bend awkwardly on entering the home straight.
 
NOT TONIGHT DEAR – Hung in throughout the event placing jockey D Smith in difficulty
 
SFILZA – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MIGHTY MEERKAT – Was examined pre-race by the veterinarian after racing within the previous seven days and was cleared to race. Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: McDonald Murphy Machinery P/L Class 3 Plate 1300 metres
 
SVINDAL – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
SIDE HUSTLE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
SCENT OF FEAR – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m when having to shift out to avoid the heels of SVINDAL which laid in under pressure.
 
BON RUBY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: BELLE OF WHITSUNDAY Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1560 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed due to TAVIVALLY being difficult to load.
 
LET'S GO BOBBY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MISS SILKY – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
JUST JESSIE – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 1400m after being contacted by MISS SILKY. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MISHANI FORTUNE – Slow to begin.
 
CHLOE JADE – Slow to begin.
 
TAVIVALLEY (NZ) – On entering the course proper passing the 1400m shifted in and became awkwardly placed on the running rail. Trainer Mr J Manzelmann was advised that TAVIVALLY (NZ), who was difficult to load, would be required to gain a further barrier certificate prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
 
Race 6: MAGIC MILLIONS WHITSUNDAY GUINEAS QTIS 3YO Handicap 1560 metres
 
CLEAVER GREENE – Rider reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the tight turning nature of the track.
 
BOOMBRASSTIC – Shifted out abruptly approaching the winning post.
 
MISTRESS OF DOOM – Jumped away awkwardly. Became awkwardly placed on heels approaching the winning post.
 
BEG ME – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide in the early stages but was able to shift in and obtain cover passing the 1100m.
 
LASTOFTHE MOHICANS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of heat stress.
 
STRUMAN – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
MARVELLOUS HEART – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Following the running of this event, Jockey L. Tilley was stood down from his remaining ride after being unwell. Mr Tilley was advised he requires a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.
 
Race 7: Starcut Flowers Class 6 Plate 1100 metres
 
ARCHER'S TREASURE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
THE EGYPTIAN – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid outwards over the concluding stages.
 
ZEPPELIN – Trainer C Attard was reprimanded for the late gear notification pursuant to AR206(2). Was declared a late scratching at 4.18pm on veterinary advice after being fractious in the barriers. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 4.18pm as following: 
Win Bets Princess Rules - 5 cents
Place Bets (For Winner) 6 cents
Place Bets (For 2nd) The Egyptian - 5 cents
Place Bets (For 3rd) Boss Baby - 10 cents

PRINCESS RULES – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHARLES SEVEN – Hampered on jumping away. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
BOSS BABY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
DAWN TOO GOOD – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
GREAT FOX – Hampered shortly after jumping away and as a result was slow to begin. Momentarily inconvenienced over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 8: CEQ Group MACKAY CUP Handicap 2000 metres
 
HAIL MANHATTAN – Passing the winning post on the first occasion commenced to race fiercely prior to  being tightened for room by BREAK MY STRIDE. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
GUNNOBE – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages. Shifted out over the final stages after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of PLANET WARRIOR and BUSTER BLOCK.
 
FACTORY WARRIOR – Passing the crossing became awkwardly placed after improving onto the heels of HAIL MANHATTAN. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight making contact with BUSTER BLOCK.
 
BERING SEA – Hampered and carried out approaching the winning post by GENNOBE.
 
PLANET WARRIOR – Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied to avoid the heels of HAIL MANHATTAN, who commenced to raced fiercely after being tightened for room by BREAK MY STRIDE which rolled in marginally.
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Momentarily inconvenienced approaching the winning post after laying in and contacting FACTORY WARRIOR.
 
MEATBALL – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
ART ATTACK – Permission was granted for D Simmons to ride 1.5kg over the carded weight due to no other available. Awkwardly placed on heels near the 900m and had to be restrained.
