GENERAL
AGUSTAWYND, MASON’S CHANCE, RUFFIN’N IT (NZ), GETOUT OF MY NEIGH (NZ) and COMMANDER’S WATCH were all examined by the veterinarian and cleared to race after racing within the last seven days.

Race 1: BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE CLUB Maiden Plate 1560 metres

BYTACT – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

MISHANI PATRIOT – Slow to begin.

OCONEE (NZ) – Carried wider on the track passing the 1300m and as a result raced wide throughout the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.

REFUTATION – Jumped away awkwardly.

TENNESSEE WHISKEY – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 500m commenced to over race and as a result became awkwardly placed on the heels of IMBATIDO for a number of strides.

IMBATIDO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding, Jockey S Sheargold stated that his mount began to weaken noticeably when asked for an effort in the straight and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

JACK'S ECHO – Hung out rounding the home turn and passing the 300m had to be restrained after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of IMBATIDO which laid in under pressure. Jockey Sheargold rider of IMBATIDO was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.

BIRD'S NEST – Over raced in the early and middle stages and made the first turn awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.

MAHKOTA ROSE – Passing the 1300m after the pace of the race eased shifted three wide after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of IMBATIDO and as a result raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.


Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres

COCHRANE – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in contacting LENNY ROCKET. Over raced in the early and middle stages.

AGUSTAWYND – Lost off hind plate in running.

WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN – When questioned regarding the gelding leading by a considerable distance in the event Apprentice A. Donald stated that she was instructed to lead and to ride the gelding where comfortable. She further added she was able to do so without asking too much of her mount and that she was surprised by the gap she had placed on the field. Trainer D. Whyte confirmed the instructions provided to Apprentice Donald.

LENNY ROCKET – Jumped away awkwardly shifting out contacting COCHRANE.

STRIKING ROCKET – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid out in the early and middle stages of the event.


Race 3: SMARTSTATE RENTALS Maiden Handicap 1100 metres

TACKLE – Slow to begin.

HEISWOODY – Trainer Mr A. Cameron was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of the gelding in relation to being difficult to load. Slow to begin. Raced green throughout the event.

IL CALZINO – Laid out rounding the home turn.

JEITOSO – Hampered on jumping away.

COOEEBAYMAGIC – Slow to begin. Passing the 150m had to shift wider to avoid the heels of SECLUSION which shifted out to improve. Jockey W. D’Avila rider of SECLUSION was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.

KATEY GIRL – Jumped away awkwardly.

CHATILLY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Raced wide throughout the event.

SECLUSION – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift wider on the track to improve.

YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 200m laid in and contacted CHATILLY.


Race 4: MCDONALD MURPHY MACHINERY P/L RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1100 metres

MY BOY SAM – Raced wide throughout the event. Shifted out abruptly on entering the home straight and raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

WATCHMEN – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

KAHAYLAAN – Laid out rounding the home turn. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

TELL EVERYBODY – Slow to begin.

CABALO ESCURO – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

CATMOSPHERE – Raced wide throughout the event.

STARSONIC – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider was reminded of her obligations to ensure she rides her mounts out to the finish.


Race 5: SKY RACING OPEN Handicap 1200 metres

NORTH AFRIKA – Hampered shortly after jumping away.

FRATELLINO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

GAMBOA – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

MASON'S CHANCE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Race 6: BOOK FOR CHRISTMAS MEETING SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 1200 metres

BETTER DAYS AHEAD – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

NEW YORK WORLD – Over raced in the early and middle stages and ran out making the turn.

CELEBRATION DAY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 150m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SCHATZI, which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey W. D’Avila rider of SCHATZI was reprimanded under AR131(a) and was reminded to be clear when shifting ground in future. Stewards took into consideration the racing manners of the horses concerned when considering penalty.

SCHATZI – Jumped away awkwardly. Contacted on entering the home straight and carried in and as a result had difficulty obtaining clear running till approaching the 150m.

SHE'S MAGANDA – Raced wide throughout the event.

CLIFF'S CHOICE – Hampered shortly after jumping and lost considerable ground. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m by SCHATZI who was carried in by CELEBRATION DAY which laid in.

BOLD ZIP – A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

COOP'S STAR – Raced wide throughout the event.


Race 7: PHOTO BOOTH MAGIC Class 4 Handicap 1300 metres

HURRICANE FIGHTER (NZ) – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Became awkwardly placed on the heels of ASK NINO passing the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

SAYL (GB) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight. Approaching the 100m dropped his outside rein placing him at a slight disadvantage.

NUREMBURG CASTLE – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced in restricted room for several strides passing the 150m between SAYL (GB), which shifted out marginally and HURRICAN FIGHTER (NZ) which laid in.

ASK NINO – Raced green throughout the event. Shifted in abruptly passing the 200m and became awkwardly placed on heels. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

AS YAWOOD – Slow into stride. Laid inwards in the early stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.

BULLET LAD – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.


Race 8: RACING AGAIN FRIDAY 26TH NOVEMBER BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1560 metres

SPRINGTHORPE – Slow to begin.

SCENT OF FEAR – Raced wide throughout the event.

TRUST IN ALOHA – Fractious prior to the start. Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Rider C Whiteley advised TRUST IN ALOHA proved difficult to control during the running and had disappointed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to disclose any abnormalities.

MARTO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight and shifted in to improve.

RUFFIN' IT (NZ) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

HELLUVA HOFFA – Passing the 300m had to be checked to avoid the heels of PLEASURE BOMB who was carried in by MARTO which shifted in when insufficiently clear to do so. Stewards intend to inquire into the incident at a time and date to be fixed to allow all riders involved to be available.

PLEASURE BOMB – Hampered and carried in passing the 300m when having to avoid the heels of HELLUVA HOFFA which was carried inwards by MARTO. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in near foreleg. Trainer R. Finch was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race.

GETOUT OF MY NEIGH (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event.

POETIC PETE – Trainer A Coome was fined $100 for a late rider notification pursuant to LR67(1). Over raced in the early and middle stages.
