Race 1: MOJO RACE DAY QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 1 Handicap (1050 Metres)

DRAGON'S SNIP – Over raced during the early stages. Hung out for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

ELIE JOE – Raced three-wide without cover over the early and middle stages. Approaching the 800m elected to shift wider to improve into clear running. Approaching the 200m laid out for a number of strides before being corrected by its rider. Raced greenly in the home straight and approaching the 50m bumped with MISHANI AVIATOR.

MISHANI AVIATOR – Approaching the 50m, made contact with ELIE JOE who was laying in and as a result became momentarily unbalanced.

I'M PINKER – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with ELIE JOE who was then taken out onto KARAKAROO.

KARAKAROO – Contacted on jumping by I’M PINKER and as a result was taken wider onto MISHANI TYCOON. Approaching the 100m laid in under pressure.

SALIKA DIVA – When asked to comment, Jockey S. Sheargold stated that in his opinion the mare travelled comfortably throughout, however when placed under pressure approaching the home turn, failed to respond to riding and his opinion was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MISHANI TYCOON – Tightened shortly after the start when KARAKAROO was taken out by ELIE JOE.


Race 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF DULLAHIDE Maiden Handicap (1300 Metres)

The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 mins owing to ZAZ IN PARIS being difficult to load.

GEORGE TOWN – In the vicinity of the 1100m, shifted in to obtain a position closer to the running rail.

HE'S THE ONE – Approaching the 100m, laid in under pressure.

SWEET CATENA – In the vicinity of the 350m was bumped when ZAZ IN PARIS laid in. Approaching the 100m was momentarily held up and as a result was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running.

IMPERIUM – In the vicinity of the 1100m, was obliged to be mindful of heels when GEORGE TOWN shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail and the proceeded to over race. Raced wide early. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ZAZ IN PARIS – Difficult to load. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record in relation to its barrier manners. In the vicinity of the 350m, laid in and bumped SWEET CATENA.

FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in over the concluding stages.

MISHANI VALOUR – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

STILLWATER – Slow into stride.


RACE 3: LADBROKES RACING CLUB BM65 HANDICAP (1300 Metres)

ANTAGONISER – Jockey A. Butler reported at scale that in his opinion the gelding felt flat in its action during today’s event. Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted, in that the gelding was ridden conservatively and settled back, in contrast to the horses established racing pattern of leading. When questioned Jockey A. Butler stated that rather than being caught deep from a wide barrier, he elected to come back as the gelding failed to muster any gate speed. When the pace quickened at the 700m, the gelding proceeded to race ungenerously. Trainer J. McConachy confirmed Jockey A. Butler’s comments and also that that ANATGONISER may not have handled the quick back up. A post-race veterinary report revealed no visible abnormalities.

COOLMEANS (NZ) – Awkward to begin.

LIFETIME QUEST – Shifted in on jumping, taking SUPER FAST in onto THE STIFMEISTER.

SUPER FAST – Taken in by LIFETIME QUEST on jumping and as a result shifted in abruptly and bumped with THE STIFMEISTER. Jockey J. Stanley reported at scale that the gelding was inclined to hang out from the 450m.

REAL KEY – Passing the 200m commenced to lay in. When questioned regarding today’s improved performance, Trainer M Cochrane stated that REAL KEY had been working well in the lead up to today’s event. Trainer M. Cochrane also stated that during its last start at Dingo, REAL KEY didn’t handle the dirt track conditions and much preferred that grass track of today’s event and as a result travelled well throughout.

THE STIFMEISTER – Bumped and severely hampered at the start when SUPER FAST shifted in abruptly on jumping away.

PINDARRA'S DREAM – Slow to begin. Commenced to over race passing the 1200m. Approaching the 700m improved onto the heels of MICROWAVE JENNY and was obliged to be restrained. Passing the 200m was momentarily disappointed for a run and as a result, elected to shift to the inside to obtain clear running.


RACE 4: QCWA 100 YEARS CENTENARY SARINA BRANCH 0 - 55 HANDICAP (1200 Metres)

Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey J. Stanley, the rider of SILENT ANGEL, to view the stewards patrol footage in the home straight to ascertain if there were grounds for an objection. After declining to do so, correct weight was declared on the Judge’s numbers.

PRIVATE SECTOR – Awkward to begin. Over raced during the early stages of the event.

SOARING SPIRIT – When asked regarding the tactics adopted, in that the gelding was ridden back in the field which is in contrast to the horses established racing pattern, Jockey R. Wiggins stated that the mare was slow to begin and in his opinion would be better suited over further distance. Began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide without cover during the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $500 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.

KINGMATE – Disappointed for a clear running from the 200m to inside the 100m.

SILENT ANGEL – In the vicinity of the 200m, was obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of RUSSIAN WHISPER who shifted in under riding.

FLYING CARMEN – Over raced during the early stages of today’s event.

RUSSIAN WHISPER – In the vicinity of the 200m, shifted out under riding.

CHATILLY – Raced wide over the early and middle stages. Hung out passing the 700m.

CHILENA – In the vicinity of the 500m, elected to shift out wider onto the track to obtain clear running.


RACE 5: QCWA PIONEER DIVISION OPEN HANDICAP (1200 Metres)

BRAD – Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 250m, elected to shift to the outside of CHECKERS (NZ) to obtain clear running.

CABALO ESCURO – Bumped shortly after the start by CHECKERS (NZ) and momentarily became awkward in its action. Raced wide during the middle stages of todays event.

FAMILY STAR – Raced wide without cover during the early stages of todays event. From the vicinity of the 250m was disappointed for clear running and as a result was unable to fully test his mount to the finishing line.

CHECKERS (NZ) – Bumped with CABALO ESCURO shortly after the start. Raced fiercely during the middle stages of today’s event.

A CALL FROM HEAVEN – Slow to begin. From the wide barrier was restrained at the start and shifted across heels to obtain a rearward position closer to the rails. Jockey N. Thomas reported that his mount felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary report revealed the mare to be lame in its near fore. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that A CALL FROM HEAVEN would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

COCHRANE – Dipped on jumping away.

GOLDEN ATHENA – Slow to begin.


Race 6: QCWA PRESIDENTS CUP BM70 Handicap (1560 Metres)

SVINDAL – Overraced during the early stages of today’s event.

ROCK 'N' SOL – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SRINI – Jockey C. Whiteley reported that it was not his intention to lead in today’s event, however as his mount jumped well, he allowed it to settle in front. Stewards noted his explanation.

SUCH A WHIT – Shifted out on jumping away. Raced wide without cover for the majority. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

ZOUY’S COMET – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in its near hindleg.

SHADOW GODDESS – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early stages of today’s event. Laid in over the concluding stages.


Race 7: QCWA SARINA BRANCH MEMBERS 0 - 55 Handicap (1560 Metres)

BOLD ZIP – Very awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride. Race wide during the early stages.

PLUCKERCARN – Awkward to begin and shifted in, hampering NOT A FAT BOY. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 200m was momentarily disappointed for a clear run before electing to shift to the inside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SIZZLING SAMURAI – Jockey J. Stanley reported at scale that in the vicinity of the 450m, SIZZLING SAMURAI was inclined to hang out.

NOT A FAT BOY – Hampered on jumping away when PLUCKERCARN shifted in. Approaching the 100m was obliged to be aware of heels and shift out when PRETTY AS rolled out and PLUCKERCARN shifted in simultaneously.

PRETTY AS – In the vicinity of the 250m was bumped when IN YOUR ELEMENT rolled out momentarily. Laid in and was wayward in the home straight. When asked to comment on the mare’s performance, jockey R. Wiggins stated that he felt his mount would be better suited to a drop back in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

DOOM DIVA – Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip sixteen times in totality.

IN YOUR ELEMENT – In the vicinity of the 250m, rolled out momentarily and bumped with PRETTY AS. Apprentice B. Johnson reported at scale that her mount felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SAND AND OCEAN – Raced four-wide during the early stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ELVIARE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1300m became unbalanced when making the first turn. Raced wide without cover during the early stages of the event.
