SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Rockhampton 5th June 2026
 
Trainer Ricky Vale advised stewards that following the meeting at Rockhampton on the 5th of June, PIPISTRELLE had blood tests conducted which revealed the mare to be showing signs of a viral infection and as such the mare would be treated accordingly. Trainer Ricky Vale also advised that subsequent to its performance PRETTY SLICK would be retired from racing.
 

GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweights:
 
Race 1: Adam Sewell (+1/2kg)
Race 2: Masayuki Abe (+1kg)
Race 6: Raul Silvera Olivera (+1kg)
Race 7: Masayuki Abe (+1kg)
Race 8: Sean Cormack (+1kg), Adam Sewell (+1/2kg)
 
 
Due to the abandonment of meetings at Casino and Doomben (originally postponed), the start times of today’s races where amended to the following:
 
Race 1: 12:30pm
Race 2: 1:05pm
Race 3: 1:40pm
Race 4: 2:15pm
Race 5: 2:50pm
Race 6: 3:25pm
Race 7: 4:05pm
Race 8: 4:38pm
 
 
The following runners underwent pre-race veterinary examinations after having competed within the previous 7 days and were cleared to start:
 
REBELIOUS RED, SHEMAKESMENERVOUS, SCIALLA & BOLD CHANGE
 
 
Both runners TWIN TURBO (Race 5) and CHANCE (Race 7) were declared late scratchings at 9:55am by order of stewards after trainer Darby Amos’ truck broke down and he was subsequently unable to attend today’s meeting.
 
 
RACE 1:SKY RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100M
 
AYE VEE AITCH – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Bumped with FILLYDELPHIA MISS at the start. Raced keenly during the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.     
 
RED ROCKS BEACH – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Awkwardly placed at the heels of MORUNDAH near the 700m.      
 
BONEWOOD – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with FILLYDELPHIA MISS. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.        
 
MUSEE DU LOUVRE – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
MORUNDAH – Passing the 800m had to be steadied from the heels of MUSEE DU LOURVE.
 
BETTY BOOM – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced near the 800m and was obliged to shift wider to avoid heels. Hung out during the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer Lachie Manzelmann was advised that a warning has been placed against the filly’s record for the overall performance and racing manners.        
 
FILLYDELPHIA MISS – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with BONEWOOD. Jockey Adam Sewell reported that his right foot struck the side of the barrier partition on jumping.          

RACE 2:LADBROKES HOSTED POTS MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1300M

ATOMIC TIME (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Shifted outwards under pressure in the home straight. When queried regarding the performance, jockey Ryan Wiggans advised that the gelding over raced in the early stages and then refused to settle in the middle stages. Jockey Wiggins added that first up over 1300m after a 6-month let up may have also had a bearing on the overall finishing efforts of ATOMIC TIME (NZ).     
ALVIN – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained. Shifted wider near the 600m when racing keenly. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
AGILE ANNIE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Tired noticeably over the final 200m and trainer Craig Reid was advised a warning has been placed against the filly’s record.
 
DOUBTFUL ANGEL – Shifted wider near the 650m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.      
WILLOW CAPRI – Hampered soon after the start when VOLARE shifted outwards. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.         
 
JOHN'S ROAD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.         
 
SOYDECAFFLATTE – When queried regarding the apparent improved performance of the gelding, trainer Mark Barnham advised that he was disappointed with the effort of SOYDECAFFLATTE at its most recent start and after settling well today and enduring a soft run in transit, the gelding was able to finish off when over the final 400m.    
 
VOLARE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards hampering WILLOW CAPRI.       


RACE 3:LADBROKES MEGA MULTI BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100M

LA PETITE MAISON – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
UPSTART LEGEND – Jumped away awkwardly.                  
 
LINE 'EM UP LOUI – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with MELO MELO KAVA.
 
BIGCAT – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ZAYA – Fractious in the barriers.  Raced wide throughout. Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m and carried LINE ‘EM UP LOUI marginally wider.
 
LUCKY LASS – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m and had to be corrected by the rider.
 
QUARRY MAN (NZ) – Racing inside the final 100m was tightened for room and hampered between LINE ‘EM UP LOUI and LA PETITE MAISON when LINE ‘EM UP LOUI shifted out under pressure after being carried marginally wider by ZAYA. In all circumstances jockey Ryan Wiggins (LINE ‘EM UP LOUI) was issued with a reprimand for failing to ensure his mount maintained a straight course at this point of the race. 
 
LADY MASQUERADE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MELO MELO KAVA – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with LINE’EM UP LOUI.
 
REBELIOUS RED – Jumped away awkwardly.
 

RACE 4:LADBROKES POPULAR SRM BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200M
 
FIVE STAR KING – Raced wide until the 800m.
 
FIOREEN – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with STARMEIRA. Shied away from the running rail near the 1000m and bumped SOUND THE BUGLE.       
 
RAVENITE – Over raced in the early stages and shifted outwards near the 1000m to avoid heels. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
SOUND THE BUGLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped near the 1000m when FIOREEN shied away from the running rail.
 
CHALKLEY – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TOO MANY KISSES – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with FIOREEN.       
 
DIAMOND LUCY – Briefly inconvenienced near the 1000m when SOUND THE BUGLE was bumped by FIOREEN.      
 
SILENT ANGEL – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
STARMEIRA – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.


RACE 5:LADBROKES ODDS SURGE CLASS 3 PLATE 1300M
 
DETERMINATION – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
GOT GUMPTION – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RASHFORD - Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SETTAT (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.                  
 
BETTA THAN PRESLEY – Began very awkwardly and missed the start by some distance. Trainer Raymond Williams was advised that a warning has been placed against the record of the gelding. Near the 50m raced in restricted room between SMASHING ROSIE and MARAVILLAS. 
 
SMASHING ROSIE – Hampered soon after the start when BLUEBIRD BAY jumped outwards. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
BLUEBIRD BAY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering SMASHING ROSIE. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 1150m was steadied to avoid the heels of DETERMINATION when that runner shifted inwards marginally. Jockey Aiden Holt (DETERMINATION) was reprimanded for failing to leave sufficient clearance for the runner to his inside. Raced keenly and ungenerous for some distance during the middle stages.
 
MARAVILLAS – Jumped away awkwardly.       


RACE 6:NORTHERN JEWEL QTIS 3YO HANDICAP 1300M
 
DON'TDOUBTHELADY – Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted ground outwards under pressure in the home straight.
 
BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME – Raced keenly during the middle stages.         
 
MISTER DOOBEE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Disappointed for a clear run between BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME and SCIALLA near the 100m and had to alter course outwards to obtain clear running
 
GYPSY'S DAUGHTER – Jumped away awkwardly.   
 
SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced in restricted room between DON’TDOUBTTHE LADY and BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME over the concluding stages.      
 
WATCHFULWILDERNESS – Raced wide throughout.
 
BELVEDERE MISS – Jumped away awkwardly.         
 
SCIALLA – Jumped away awkwardly.    
 
THE KOBAY TRAIN – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey Tahlia Fenlon reported that she struck her left foot on the barrier partition on jumping. Had to ease from the heels of MISTER DOOBEE near the 550m when over racing. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 100m.       


RACE 7:BOOK FOR MACKAY CUP SATURDAY 25TH JULY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1560M     
 
BOLD CHANGE – Jumped inwards at the start and hampered MORDECAI. Held up for clear racing room near the 200m when MAYOR OF KINGSTON shifted outwards and OHH ERROL shifted inwards.      
 
MORDECAI – Hampered at the start when BOLD CHANGE jumped inwards.     
 
OHH ERROL – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey Sean Cormack advised that after travelling well during the run the gelding failed to respond to his efforts and proved very disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
HOWSE – Raced wide throughout.                  
 
MAYOR OF KINGSTON – Jumped away awkwardly. 
 
MADAM NAZAR – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room for a distance until approaching the 200m.         
 
CITIROC – Refused to leave the barriers and took no part in the event. Trainer Mark Barnham was advised that the gelding has been stood down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial.     
 
LATIN LOVE – Raced keenly in the middle stages.    
 
SHINY LOVE (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.  
 
YOROKOBI (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly. When queried in relation to the apparent improved performance, trainer Lachie Manzelmann advised that the gelding had taken longer than anticipated to reach peak fitness than last preparation and expects that YOROKOBI (NZ) should now be able to hold its form in similar races.
 
REMLAP KAVA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
KHAMIS – Checked off the heels of BOLD CHANGE near the 850m and the 700m when over racing.  


RACE 8:RACING AGAIN TUESDAY 23RD JUNE OPEN HANDICAP 1050M

ACROPHOBIC – Jumped away awkwardly.     
 
SUNNYCOAST – Jumped away awkwardly and impeded HAN DYNASTY at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.       
 
HAN DYNASTY – Reared in the barriers and was then removed to undergo a veterinary examination before being cleared to start. A warning has now been issued against the record of the gelding for its barrier manners. Impeded at the start when SUNNYCOAST jumped inwards. Raced wide throughout.
 
EARLY FUSION – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to lay in rounding the home turn near the 500m. 
 
BLUE STRATUM – Bumped with RAETIHI (NZ). Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUTBACK ACTION – Underwent a resaddle behind the barriers. Slow to begin.                  
 
RAETIHI (NZ) – Bumped with BLUE STRATUM at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
RED HOT LIZZIE – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
