RACE 1: LADBROKES SWITCH RATINGS BAND 0-50 Handicap 1100M
HARBOUR CHILL – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
GOTTA HERO – Began awkwardly and jumped outwards bumping with WATCHA LANGUAGE. Raced keenly in the early stages.
HOLY CROWN – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards bumping with WATCHYA LANGUAGE. Shifted wider near the 500m to improve. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
CHIARO DI LUNA – Began awkwardly.
WATCHYA LANGUAGE – Hampered between runners at the start when GOTTA HERO jumped outwards and HOLY CROWN jumped inwards.
RACE 2: SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC QTIS Maiden Plate 1100M
CHEERS HONEY – Raced keenly in the early stages.
ELEGANT VENUS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HOPE TO HEAVEN – Began awkwardly and bumped with NICCO NOTA FIGHTER. Gave ground from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Stewards refrained from taking any action due to the mare having its first race day start.
MOONSPELL – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages.
OUR LAST CHANCE – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
NICCO NOTA FIGHTER – Began awkwardly and bumped with HOPE TO HEAVEN. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider Wanderson D’Avila explained that his mount travelled well throughout however when asked for an effort rounding the home turn failed to respond and proved very disappointing. Stewards will contact trainer Matthew McGuire in regards to NICCO NOTA FIGHTER’S post-race recovery over the coming days.
RACE 3: WORLD WIDE CABLES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200M
KAFFIR LILY – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to the left hind.
MARAVILLAS – Slow to begin.
MAGIC IN ME – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
SUPID DATE – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 300m laid in and bumped with SPEC OF SILVER. Laid in under pressure throughout the final straight. Rider Nathan Thomas reported that his mount travelled well during the run however failed to respond to his riding efforts from the 400m and battled fairly in the home straight.
SPEC OF SILVER – Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Bumped by SUPID DATE leaving the 300m when that runner laid inwards.
RACE 4: HELLERMAN TYTON CLASS 6 Plate 1050M
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider Nathan Thomas (SAILOR’S RUM) to view the available replays to ascertain whether he had grounds to protest. After viewing the replays, rider Thomas elected not to proceed and correct weight was declared.
CONTEMPORARY – Began awkwardly.
SAILOR’S RUM – Began awkwardly. Laid in when struck with the whip near the 150 metres and became awkwardly placed at the heels of WOODSTOCK ROCK for a number of strides. Hung in under pressure throughout the home straight resulting in rider Nathan Thomas having to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.
ADMITTED – Inclined to over-race in the middle stages.
WOODSTOCK ROCK – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
GILBERT’S GOLD – Began awkwardly.
RACE 5: MM ELECTRICAL MACKAY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1800M
BATEMANS BAY (FR) – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
I WANT IT ALL – Began awkwardly.
TIGER ROCKET – Raced wide in the early stages.
RACE 6: HP & CP AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1300M
THE EXTREME CAT – Slow to begin.
SIR ROCKET – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
CASH ARTIST – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
UNIFIES – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
