Race 1: THANKS MITECH CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
ALIK – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Connections were advised a warning would be placed in its barrier manners.
MOVING TARGET – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
ROCK STAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: MITECH KUBOTA BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 900M
LORD WINDERMERE – Declared a late scratching at 8.52am by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be sore in the near front hoof. Trainer R. Burrows was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to it being permitted race again.
WILL SHE APPEAL – Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners.
MANDALONG PASS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
HUNTING – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
WICKED WIKI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: CAVA HYDRAULICS BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1000M
ENCORONADA – Declared a late scratching at 10.05am when no rider was available.
INCISION, SUGAR RAY RED & FAIRMONT were all declared late scratchings at 12.00pm due to no suitable riders being available.
TEMERITY – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
STOLE THE SHOW – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
IMA POCKET ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT – When questioned into its disappointing performance rider D. Ballard stated that the gelding did appreciate racing close the inside where in his opinion the surface was heavier. Trainer Ms D Ballard agreed with D. Ballards assessment and was further of the view the horse would be better suited over a longer distance than that of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 4: TREVOR MORRIS BUILDERS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1450M
ECHELON ROSE – Slow to begin and then shifted out bumping another runner.
DEVIL’S FIRE – Slow to begin then bumped by another runner which shifted out.
PRINCE OF BARODA – Slow to begin.
MARY’S GIRL – Raced wide in the early stages.
ALBERT THE ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 5: STEEJO PRESS OPEN PLATE – 1450m
RECALCULATE – Over-raced in the early stages.
UNDER THE WEATHER – Over-raced in the early stages.
DEADLY CHOICES – Raced wide in the early stages until improving forward and obtaining the lead near the 1000m.
