GENERAL
Jockey M Gray who did not attend today’s race meeting was replaced as per Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1 – CAVA QTIS  MAIDEN PLATE 900m
 
THE MARSHALL – Jumped awkwardly losing ground and raced wide all the way. 
 
JACK REACHER – Jumped inwards and continued to shift inwards for short distance after start resulting in another runner being bumped. Shifted in under pressure in home straight. 
 
LADY AKNA – Tightened for room at start when another runner shifted ground.   
 
CAMBOOMYA – Shifted outwards on jumping and raced wide for majority of race.  Rider reported mare resented kickback.
 
Race 2 -  TREVOR MORRIS BUILDERS CLASS B HANDICAP 900m
 
ENE AGAPI MOU – Proved very difficult to load into barriers.  Bucked considerably soon after start.  Took no active part in the race.  Trainer R. Hermann advised mare must successfully complete two satisfactory trials prior to starting again.
 
WANZANILLA – Knuckled on jumping losing ground.  Raced wide all the way.  Trainer advised gelding resented the kick back. 
 
ENCORONADA – Raced wide throughout.   
 
SHAKESPEAREAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
ELLAND ROAD (NZ) – Stewards questioned rider S. Mossman re his riding of the mare in the home straight. Jockey Mossman advised the mare had commenced to tire noticeably in the home straight after having led the field.  He  further advised the mare had shown a tendency to hang out throughout the race and especially in the home straight.  He further advised that in the straight his saddle had started to slip. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
 
 
Race 3 –APG GLASS AND ALUMINIUM RATING BAND 0-65 HANDICAP 900m
 
STAR FACTOR – Proved difficult to load. Jumped awkwardly and raced wide throughout. Trainer T. Parry advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.   
 
FEAR FACTOR – Knuckled on jumping losing ground. 
 
ROCK TSAR – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

CAPTAIN’S PICK – Raced wide throughout.
 
LORD WINDERMERE - Race wide rounding the home turn.  
 
 
Race 4 - STEEJO PRESS OPEN PLATE 1000m   
 
HIDDEN CHIEF - Bumped by another runner on jumping.  Inclined to hang out shortly after the start and continued to do so for most of the race. Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
CLATEAU – Jumped outwards at the start and contacted with another runner.  Raced wide most of the race. 
 
KAPSET – Jumped awkwardly. 
 
GLOBAL ROCKET – Raced wide most of the way. Over raced in the early stages. Trainer advised this was first start in this area and he believed the gelding did not handle the track conditions today and will be better suited by a longer distance.  . 
 
Race 5 – BOOK A TABLE FOR ST PAT’S DAY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1100m
 
SURGICAL – Slow to begin. 
 
SUGAR RAY RED – Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
IMAGINAL THEPEOPLE - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
MOVING TARGET- Rider J Esser on being interviewed regarding the gelding’s performance stated that after leading to mid race the gelding had tired. He believed that the weight of 65kgs and the heavy conditions of the track contributed to performance.  Stewards noted the explanation  
 
EXPLOSIVE MISSILE – Rider J. Babarovich reminded of his obligations re use of the whip prior to the 100 metres.
