General
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy. 
 
Race 1: THANKS SHELLEY ROBERTS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1450m
 
CAPTAIN’S PICK – Began awkwardly. 
 
ECHELON ROSE – Slow to go.
 
AMERICAN SUMMER - Slow into stride and raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
MISS SIZZ - Had to be restrained near the 1300 metres when a runner to the outside shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
FIRE RANGER – Tightened for room near the 1300 metres when runner to the outside shifted in.

VENI VIDI VICI – Near the 1300 metres shifted in when insufficiently clear resulting in MISS ZISS having to be restrained and FIRE RANGER being tightened for room.  Rider Raymond  Vigar was issued with a severe reprimand for careless riding. AR131(a).
 
Race 2: MERRY XMAS TO ALL RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1000m
 
OLIVER SKOONA - Slowly away and raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
TEMERITY – Began very awkwardly.
 
EMBATTLED – Bumped a runner to the inside on jumping. 
 
GENERAL ARTIE – Buffeted between runners on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. 
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Bumped another runner on jumping.  Approaching the 700 metres was obliged to shift out and around the heels of another runner. Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
CHRISTMAS CREEK – Put in an awkward stride near the 700 metres and had to be checked when a runner to the outside shifted in.  Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HOLOGRAM – Shifted in approaching the 700 metres resulting in CHRISTMAS CREEK having to be checked. Rider T. Brummell was issued with a reprimand for careless riding AR131(a).
 
Race 3: THANKS BOOKMAKERS QTIS Maiden Plate 1100m       
 
LINGY – Knuckled on jumping.
 
SHANAHAN - Knuckled on jumping.
 
THE PILLAR – Slow into stride.
 
RAPID ASCENT – Bumped runner to the outside on jumping. 
 
NALSSENDORI – Bumped runner to the inside on jumping and raced wide for the majority. 
 
ZAGITOVA – Raced wide for the majority. 
 
BOSS’S DAUGHTER – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
MARNUS (NZ) – Post race veterinary examination following below expectation performance revealed gelding was suffering mild heat stress.
 
Race 4: THANKS TO ALL SPONSORS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200m 
 
BOLD SAM – Bumped a runner to the outside on jumping.  Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
START SINGER – Began awkwardly bumping a runner to the inside and raced wide for the majority.
 
TIME FOR US – Raced wide in the middle stages.  
 
RED RED ROSE – Slow into stride losing considerable ground before finishing off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 5: STEEJO PRESS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200m
 
TWO OF A KIND - Knuckled on jumping. Bumped by another runner near the 150m.
 
CHARMINAR - Knuckled on jumping.
 
ENCORONADA - Knuckled on jumping.  Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
NO HAT NO PLAY – Shifted in on jumping bumping with another runner. Bumped by another runner near the 150m.
 
SHIVKHANI – Began very awkwardly. Near the 150m took a tight run bumping with TWO OF A KIND which subsequently bumped with NO HAT NO PLAY. 
 
TOKAI MEIGETSU – Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
KING SOLOMON – Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
BUSH BEAT ROCKET - Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 6: SEE YOU ALL NEXT SEASON OPEN Handicap 1200m        
 
KAPSET – Bumped with runner to outside on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TEMPESTA ROSSA - Raced wide for the majority.
 
 TRY ‘N’ RUN A MUCK – Raced wide in the middle stages.
