GENERAL
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commissions Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
 
 
Race 1: QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1450m
 
DANSK HAVN – Fractious in the barrier. Was bumped by a runner to the inside which shifted out on jumping. Bumped with the same runner near the 1300m.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Shifted out on jumping bumping with another runner. Continued to shift out marginally bumping again near the 1300m.
 
 
 
Race 2: CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m
 
BLAX – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. BLAX was declared a late scratching at 2:15pm after dislodging Jockey N Nelson and galloping for some distance before being caught. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on BLAX be refunded in full, and further, that deductions of 8 cents in the dollar win and 10 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket be applied to all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching.Trainer Miss S Royes was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before again being permitted to start in a race.
 
TANK ATTACK – Jockey D Ballard was permitted to ride the gelding 2.5kg over its allocated weight. Began very awkwardly bumping with a runner to the outside. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed swelling the legs. Trainer G Tipping was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to again being able to start in a race.
 
ALL ABOUT ME – Shifted out on jumping bumping with another runner.
 
FORGOTTEN BOW – Bumped on jumping when a runner to the inside shifted out.
 
SIZZLING TOUCH – Raced wide throughout.
 
LIVLEY LASS – Upon returning to the mounting yard blood was found to be present in the mouth of the mare. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
ISIS TURBO – Raced wide for the majority.
 
BELLEOFTHEHUNTER – Raced wide for the majority. Tired noticeably over the concluding stages.
 
SUNNY EKCELS – Tired noticeably over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
Race 4: LES HUDDY MEMORIAL BRACELET OPEN PLATE 1200m
 
CATO – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MR TINDALL – Raced wide for the majority.
 
LEVEL EIGHT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 5: BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
 
BOLD SAM – Shifted out on jumping bumping with a runner to the outside.
 
ILLECEBROUS – Was bumped after jumping when a runner to the inside shifted out.
 
BUON NATALE – Shifted out on jumping bumping with a runner to the outside.
