GENERAL
The thoroughbreds MR TINDALL, ARCING HARD, ILLECEBROUS, JAZZY’S ANGEL, TIDAL FORCE, and STRUMAN which were all resuming following a lengthy absence from racing underwent a Veterinary inspection and were cleared to race.

Race 1. MALOUF AUTOS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
MOTORED – Late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 12.11pm when App S Nielson was unable, for acceptable reasons, to make weight. No suitable replacement rider available. No deductions were applicable as on-course betting on the event had not yet commenced.
THE APPOINTED TIME – Began awkwardly. Tightened between runners soon after the start.
BOSSUKA – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Jockey R Faehr reported the gelding had failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
OUR YOUNG MAN – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly.
LATERALLY – Shifted in on jumping. Inconvenienced near the 1000m. Raced wide for the majority.
JUDY MY BABY – Inconvenienced when carried in by another runner, near the 1000m.
COUNT MICHELIN – Shifted in inconveniencing runners to its inside near the 1000m .
BELLA AUSTRALIS (GB) – Restrained and shifted wider near the 900m to avoid kickback in running. Raced wide from that point.
ALL AT SEA – Raced wide for the majority.
TOKYO FRIENDS – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 2. CAVA HYDRAULICS OPEN HANDICAP 900m
WICKED WIKI – Shifted in marginally near the 700m, momentarily placing runners to its inside in restricted room.
MR TINDALL – Shifted in marginally near the 700m, when racing in restricted room, and again near the 500m, inconveniencing a runner to its inside.
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Inconvenienced, when racing in restricted room, near the 700m, and again near the 500m.
TEDDY MERCURY – Shifted wider near the 700m to avoid kickback in running. Raced wide from that point.
ELA BEACH – Raced wide for the majority.
FULL OF FIRE – Raced wide for the majority. Trainer J Babarovich, when questioned, advised the gelding, which was slowly away last start after beginning awkwardly, had jumped well today, and was better suited over the shorter distance of today’s race with less weight.

Race 3. SUNSET BUTCHERY CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200m
DR DEMON – B Richardson replaced App S Nielson, who was unable to make weight, as the rider of the gelding. Slowly away after beginning very awkwardly. Shifter wider soon after the start to avoid the kickback in running.
LORD GREYSTOKE – Inconvenienced when racing tight between runners near the 700m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4. TREVOR MORRIS BUILDERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1450m
FINGERTIPS – Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide from the 1100m.
MACKELLAR’S VOICE – Began awkwardly, shifting in abruptly and inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Bled from both nostrils in running. This being the 2nd occasion, the mare has incurred the mandatory lifetime ban from racing in Australia. AR79(6).
RED RED ROSE – Raced wide for the majority.
CHAMBERLAIN – Raced wide for the majority.
HIGHER LOVE – App J Doolan reported the gelding had failed to handle today’s track conditions.
LE FORCE – Jockey R McMahon was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) after using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. 3rd offence.

Race 5. CINEMA ISA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 900m
HI ZERO – Shifted out abruptly after beginning awkwardly.
JAZZY’S ANGEL – Fractious in the barrier. Shifted in on jumping.
STRUMAN – Fractious in the barrier. Slowly away. Shifted wider to avoid kickback in running soon after the start. Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages. Made up some ground over the concluding stages.
LATIN DAYZ – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
TIDAL FORCE – Raced wide for the majority.
ARCING HARD – Raced wide for the majority.
A MILLION DREAMS (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 6. STEEJO PRESS QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1000m
FORGOTTEN BOW – R Faehr replaced App S Nielson, who was unable to make weight, as the rider of the gelding. Inconvenienced near the 800m by another runner which hung out. Raced wide for the majority.
POSITIVE TENSION – Raced wide for the majority. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near fore hoof.
BOOMKO – Shifted out abruptly after beginning awkwardly.
GOSSIPING GIRL – Shifted in on jumping.
BETTER BE GREAT – Tightened between runners on jumping.
GIGASTAR – Slowly into stride after beginning very awkwardly. Hung out near the 800m. Raced wide for the majority.
RIVERSIDE BLUES – Slowly into stride. Shifted wider to avoid kickback in running soon after the start. Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages. Made up some ground over the concluding stages.
SNEAKY TRUTHS – Slowly into stride after being inconvenienced on jumping.
HARRY ROCKET – Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.

Race 7. CNW MAILMAN EXPRESS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1450m
NITRO CITY – J Felix replaced App S Nielson, who was unable to make weight, as the rider of the gelding. Began very awkwardly. Hung out passing the 700m. Raced wide for the majority.
MARVELOCITY – Slowly into stride. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed bleeding from the right nostril. Trainer K Krogh was advised the gelding would be required to gallop 1000m satisfactorily, in the presence of a Steward, prior to next race start. AR79(8).
KING LANDON (NZ) – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey J Hoopert accidentally dropped his whip soon after straightening.
SIZZLESUN – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority. Finished tailed off. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.

Race 8. GET YOUR MAILMAN TICKETS ONLINE RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 HANDICAP 1200m
UNDERTHESPOTLIGHT – Jockey R McMahon who was permitted to ride the gelding 1.5kg overweight, due to no replacement rider being available, was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR190(3).
DREAM HALO – Dislodged App J Doolan in the parade yard. App Doolan declared herself free of injury and fit to continue. Lost ground after blundering on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
FA FA – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
DALBERGIA – Slowly away after beginning very awkwardly.
DEVIL’S NUMBER – Jockey A Thomson reported the gelding had hung in for the majority. Trainer S Royes was advised a warning will be placed on its racing manners.
JUSTWINS – Raced wide for the majority.
LUCKY MACHU – Raced wide for the majority.
