GENERAL
 
Prior to the running of Race 1, all Jockeys competing at the meeting were alcohol breath tested and provided negative results.
 
Stewards asked Trainers T Parry (Noble Valour - Race 3) and Trainer B Johnson (Hurtle – Race 5) to supply the reason for withdrawing their respective runners post acceptances after declaring riders on both. Explanations were accepted.

The following horses were late scratching’s at 11.40 a.m. due to no available rider -:
 
RACE 1.  She’s Rewarding
RACE 2.  Minister, Nasa.
RACE 4.  Tricketeer
 
Race 1: ATULL PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1450 metres.
Room For Squares – Slow to begin. Raced wide.
Frozen Prince – Commenced to hang out from the 600 metresand Apprentice S Nielson advised that consequently she was in difficulty fully testing her mount down the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was issued to connections.
The Last Crusade - Shifted out shortly after jumping hampering Gulf of Sidra
Gulf Of Sidra – Hampered momentarily shortly after the start.
The Landing – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 2: ATULL PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 900 metres.
 
Curry Legend – Jockey R Faahr reported that Curry Legend had lost ground at the start due to him becoming unbalanced in the saddle and therefore putting pressure on the reigns which caused the gelding to throw its head in the air. Raced wide thereafter.
 
Definitely Famous – Jockey J Hoopert who was returning to race riding from injury, supplied a medical clearance, and was declared a late rider with approval from Stewards. Slow into stride and then ridden hard on the rails in the early stages to share the lead.
 
Rockbarton Racer – Raced wide.
 
Rusty Rose – Fractious in the barriers and then slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3: ATULL PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE Maiden Plate 1100 metres.
Chargrill – On dismounting in the saddling enclosure post-race, Jockey M McDonald was physically ill and required Ambulance attention. Jockey McDonald was unable to fulfil his two riding engagements and will require medical clearance before riding again.
Stewards noted rider M McDonald exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
Overimpatient – Slow to begin and raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Lost ground from 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealedno abnormalities.
Clean Shaven – Jumped awkwardly and then raced wide thereafter.
 
Race 4: ATULL PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres.
Sole Heir - Raced wide throughout.
Revolt - Blundered on jumping.
Win And Tonic – Shifted in at the 900 metres causing the rider of Offango (D Smith) to have to momentarily steady his mount. Jockey R Faahr was advised toexercise care in similar circumstances.
Eye Shoot to Win - Fractious in the mounting yard and dislodged Jockey J Barbarovich who sustained no injury.
The Tyler – Was declared a late scratching at 3.00 p.m. when declared Jockey M McDonald was ill and no other rider available.
Offango - Slow into stride. Had to be steadied off the heels of Win and Tonic at the 900 metres when being crossed by that runner. Raced wide.
 
 
Race 5: BATTLE OF THE BUSH MOUNT ISA QUALIFIER OPEN Plate 1200 metres
Han Dynasty – Bumped Preferral (NZ)on jumping.
Metal Bar - Jockey D Smith replaced M McDonald.
Preferral (NZ) – Jumped in at the start and collided with Han Dynasty.
