GENERAL
As the following runners had not raced for an extended period, they underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to race. BREAKING GROUND, LE FORCE, and ZANSHIN.
Race 1:SECURE MINE SOLUTIONS KING BROWN QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200 Metres
GROOVE CITY – Apprentice S. Nielson was replaced by jockey M. Gray when unable to make the allotted weight or her declared riding weight. Ms Nielson was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of AR 190(3)(4) Fractious in the barriers and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer T. Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.
DANCE WIZZARD – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SHE'S REWARDING – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.
INALA ATICUS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
REVOLT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
NASA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: NQES AMELIA MCGREGOR BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
FIFTY CARATS – Was declared a late scratching at 1.30pm when no suitable rider was available.
BASQUE – Was declared a late scratching at 1.30pm when no suitable rider was available.
WITHOUT – Was declared a late scratching at 1.30pm when no other suitable rider was available.
ROCKBARTON RACER – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Jockey J. Babarovich advised the mare resented kickback when racing at the rear of the field. Raced wide for the majority of the race.,
KOUKLITSA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
THUNDER MOON – Shifted in despite the efforts of apprentice S. Nielson near the 800 metres inconveniencing ZANSHIN. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
ZANSHIN – Restrained near the 800 metres when awkwardly placed at heels of WHOLELOTTALOVE when taken inwards by THUNDER MOON which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
DREAM HIGH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
GEOFF AND JENNY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: SECURE MINE SOLUTIONS COPPERMARKET OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
ROOM FOR SQUARES – Shifted out at the start hampering SEIRYU.
SEIRYU – Hampered at the start and shifted out hampering THE TYLER and lost ground.
THE TYLER – Hampered at the start and lost ground.
HAN DYNASTY – Shifted out marginally near the 100 metres inconveniencing GAMBOA which simultaneously shifted in. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
CASINO LORD – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SOOPAT – Jockey R. Faehr was admonished and advised to be sure to ride his mounts right out to the winning post.
GAMBOA – Apprentice S. Nielson was permitted to ride 0.50kg over the allotted weight as no other rider was available. Shifted in near the 100 metres being inconvenienced by HAN DYNASTY which shifted out marginally. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
BREAKING GROUND – Trainer P. Inwood was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider D. Sparks. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Stewards considered an objection lodged by apprentice M. Goring, the rider of CASINO LORD in the company of senior rider J. Babarovich which finished 2nd against SOOPAT (R. Faehr) being declared the winner on the grounds of interference near the 250 metres. It was established that CASINO LORD raced wide rounding the home turn and could not attribute blame to SOOPAT forcing CASINO LORD wider. As such stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
Stewards considered an objection lodged by apprentice S. Nielson, the rider of GAMBOA in the company of trainer N. Coves which finished 5TH against HAN DYNASTY (M. Gray) being declared 4th on the grounds of interference near the 100 metres. It was established that HANS DYNASTY shifted out marginally when GAMBOA shifted in having to be restrained with both runners contributing to the interference. As such stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
Race 4: NQES INDUSTRIES MOUNT ISA CUP/OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE OPEN HANDICAP – 1450 Metres
GARDENZIO – Was declared a late scratching at 1.30pm when no suitable rider was available.
The start of this race was delayed due to the double protest of the previous race.
MR METRICS – Trainer Shryn Royes was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider J. Hoopert when other riders were available. MR METRICS was declared a late scratching at 4.21pm when the gelding refused to load. All monies invested on MR METRICS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 4.21PM.

BRING ME FLOWERS – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
Race 5:REMEMBERING FIONA COGHLAN RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1450 Metres
The start of this race was delayed due to the previous delay.
FAR REACHING – Trainer T. Parry was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider R. Faehr when other riders were available. Jockey R. Faehr advised stewards on returning to scale the gelding was not comfortable in the conditions when racing close to the inside rail which in his opinion was a heavier surface. Trainer T. Parry was advised a warning would be placed on its competitiveness. Ms Parry gave an undertaking to advise stewards should anything come to her attention going forward that may have had a bearing on today’s performance.
PANDA DRUM – Apprentice T. Orr was unbalanced as the start was effected resulting in PANDA DRUM losing considerable ground at the start. Apprentice T. Orr was advised of his obligation to be prepared when placed in the barrier gates. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SHOALWATER BAY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
DATINKA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SOLAR SERT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
