VIKING VALOUR – laid out after leaving the barriers.
A BAR IN PARIS – travelled 3-wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the run of A BAR IN PARIS, which performed below market expectations, Apprentice Mitch Goring reported that the filly was very fractious parading to the barriers, and in his opinion, this factor, and racing wide without cover, had proved detrimental to her chances today. Stewards also firmly reminded Apprentice Goring of the obligations resting with to ride his mounts fully to the finish when circumstances permit, after relaxing his ride for a short distance near the 100 metres. In todays circumstance, the Stewards accepted that A BAR IN PARIS had been fully tested rounding the turn and early part of the straight, and while being beaten for fourth placing, had come to the end of its run and had nothing left to offer.
