GENERAL
 
1.    The following runners were scratched prior to acceptance time due to no rider being available.
Race 6. No 2. VONK, No 10. SUPERSTELLAR
2.    Stewards permitted the following overweight due to no other rider being available:
Race 7. No 6. Mitch Goring (SHE SMASHES) +1.0kg
 
 
Race 1: NUTRIEN HARCOURTS Maiden Plate 1200M
 
KEN DYLAN – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Failed to muster early speed.  
 
INSTIGATE – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the final straight.
 
LILII BOREA – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Commenced to hang out rounding the 600 metre corner and continued to hang out for a considerable distance. In view of this being LILII BOREA’s first start on a sand surface, Stewards took no action against the filly.
 
PENINHAND – Heavily resented the kickback in the early and middle stages.
 
 
RACE 2: SPORTSBET CLASS 1 Handicap 900M
 
GROOVE JET – Reared as the start was affected and lost considerable ground. Raced wide without cover throughout. Trainer Tanya Parry was advised that a warning would be placed on GROOVE JET’s barrier manners, notwithstanding the mare’s winning performance.
 
PITLECO LASS – Began awkwardly.
 
UP TO US – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
WHOLELOTTALOVE – Taken wider rounding the home turn when OUTCAST SOLDIER laid out. Raced ungenerously over the final 250 metres proving difficult to ride out, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten on several occasions.
 
OUTCAST SOLDIER – Laid out rounding the home turn taking WHOLELOTTALOVE wider.
 
 
RACE 3: NUTRIEN HARCOURTS RATINGS BAND 0-50 Handicap 1450M
 
SWEETPEA MOOCHI – Bumped rounding the first turn. Had to be steadied leaving the 1300 metres when TOP ACT shifted in when not clear.
 
LUCY LULU – Inclined to hang out in the back straight.
 
TOP ACT – Shifted in leaving the 1300 metres crowding SWEETPEA MOOCHI, which had to be steadied. Apprentice rider Mitch Goring was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.
 
SOURCES LINK – Dipped on its own accord passing the 1100 metres.
 
WOLF POINT – Laid out rounding the first turn bumping with SWEETPEA MOOCHI.
 
 
RACE 4: CITY AND COUNTRY REALITY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1450M
 
ZOUHOPE – Very slow into stride.
 
MELATEN – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Returned to the enclosure with a minor laceration to the near-side nostril, which was treated by the on-course veterinarian.
 
SUMMER SIZZLING – Slow into stride. Resented the kickback in the middle stages.
 
INFINITE PRINCE – Raced wide in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance, rider Nor Yadi advised that INFINITE PRINCE resented the kickback after shifting closer to the rail through the middle stages and subsequently failed to respond when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
 
RACE 5: NUTRIEN HARCOURTS QTIS Class 3 Handicap 1000M
 
BIGCAT – Contacted shortly after the start when MISS THE MUSIC shifted in. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of BIGCAT, apprentice rider Mitch Goring stated that the gelding, which was having its first race start on a sand surface, did not appreciate today’s track conditions and he could offer no other explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
HEAD HONCHO – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS THE MUSIC – Shifted in shortly after the start contacting BIGCAT. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
SANDY GRIP – Shifted in when struck with the whip leaving the 100 metres.
 
 
RACE 6: CNW ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200M
 
MADAM BORODINA – Shifted out on jumping bumping with MAKANUI. Shifted in abruptly leaving the 1000 metres inconveniencing COMBS. Raced in restricted room nearing the 600 metres between POLLY HOFFA and VIKING VALOUR and was buffeted for several strides. 
 
MAKANUI – Shifted in on jumping bumping with MADAM BORODINA. Raced wide throughout.
 
BITTERBLUE (NZ) – Shifted out on jumping and bumped POLLY HOFFA. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
COMBS – Inconvenienced leaving the 1000 metres when MADAM BORODINA shifted in abruptly. Resented the kickback in the middle stages.
 
POLLY HOFFA – Bumped on jumping.
 
LASTING PROMISE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
RACE 6: ATULL PLUMBING OPEN Handicap 1000M
 
MAGICAL SLIPPER – Resented the kickback in the middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice rider Jason Miller stated that MAGICAL SLIPPER was outpaced in the early stages and, in his opinion, ran on fairly. Apprentice Miller added that the mare would be better suited to races over 1200 metres.
 
MEDIA EMPIRE – Knuckled on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
LAST DITCH EFFORT – Raced wide throughout.
