GENERAL
 
1.    The following runners were scratched prior to scratching time due to no rider being available:
Race 7: No 9. LIVELY SPIRIT, No 11. AZCONPETE, No 12. LEUCAENA
2.     Prior to the commencement of the race meeting, all riders were subject to a random breath test and all were cleared to fulfil their engagements.
 
Race 1: CNW MOUTN ISA FLYER Maiden Plate 1100M
 
MACHO GRANDE (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced very wide throughout.
 
FLYING GISELLE – Bumped by FLYING GISELLE leaving the 950 metres then raced ungenerously for a distance thereafter. Resented the kickback in the middle stages, losing ground.
 
I’LLTELLYOUAFTER – Slow into stride. Resented the kickback in the middle stages.
 
INSTIGATE – Began awkwardly. Commenced to lay in leaving the 900 metres, bumping with FLYING GISELLE which as a result raced ungenerously for a distance.
 
PENINHAND – Raced wide throughout.
 
PERRIERES – Dipped on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
 
RACE 2: CNW MAILMAN EXPRESS RATINGS BAND 0-50 Handicap 1450M
 
BITTERBLUE (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival on course after being kicked by another runner on the float while being transported to the meeting and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 11:50am on veterinary advice. Trainer Tanya Parry was advised thar BITTERBLUE(NZ) would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
MAKANUI – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) – Trainer Tanya Parry was reprimanded under the provisions of AR106(1) for presenting CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) to race without a tongue tie, which was part of its declared gear.  Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
LUCY LULU – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the final straight.
 
 
RACE 3: NHP CLASSIC Class 3 Plate 1450M
 
BONDI PROPHET – Raced fiercely in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
STOKOMO – Slow into stride. Raced wide without cover in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
MELATEN – Slow to begin. Rider Robert Faehr reported at scale that in his opinion MELATEN failed to handle the heavy conditions of today’s racing surface.
 
TELL US TOLL – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 4: CABLEMAKERS CLASSIC Class 6 Plate 1000M
 
HEAVENLY LEGEND – Had to be steadied rounding the home turn as a result of VIKING VALOUR hanging out. Returned to the enclosure with blood in its mouth as a consequence of a minor abrasion to an upper tooth.
 
VIKING VALOUR – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn placing HEAVENLY LEGEND in restricted room which as a consequence had to be steadied. Continued to hang out shortly upon straightening bumping with GREAT COSMIC. Trainer Denise Ballard was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
I AM A MARVEL – Raced wide throughout.
 
AMORE VELOCE – Raced wide throughout.
 
GREAT COSMIC – Fractious leaving the mounting yard. Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped shortly upon entering the home straight when VIKING VALOUR laid out. Laid in under pressure in the final straight.
 
GROOVE JET – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
RACE 5: SCHNEIDER STAKES OPEN Handicap 1200M
 
NAPOLEON STRIKE – Shifted in shortly after the start bumping ALLEZIZZY. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
OCTOBER REVOLUTION – Bumped on jumping.
 
LAST DITCH EFFORT – Shifted in on jumping bumping OCTOBER REVOLUTION. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ALLEZIZZY – Bumped shortly after the start. Shifted out approaching the 75 metres momentarily unbalancing rider Samantha Pointon.
 
 
RACE 6: CNW BILL BRADEN MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0-60 Handicap 1200M
 
REGAL JUDGEMENT – Bumped with THE TYLER on jumping. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 700 metres after resenting the kickback, then raced wide thereafter. Dipped on its own accord leaving the 400 metres. Laid out rounding the final corner.
 
THREEFOLD – Bumped on jumping.  
 
VONK – Shifted in on jumping bumping with THREEFOLD.
 
THE TYLER – Bumped with REGAL JUDGEMENT on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
FAR REACHING – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 7: BULLS MASTERS CCQ CLASSIC QTIS Class 1 Handicap 1200M
 
RED CODE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
CRYPTOLOGY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
HEZA ROMEO – Fractious behind the barriers. Shifted out on jumping bumping RED CODE, then was bumped shortly after by FORTUNAS GIRL which shifted out abruptly. Rider Mitch Goring reported at scale that in his opinion HEZA ROMEO, which was having its first race start on sand, failed to handle the heavy conditions of today’s racing surface.
 
MAGIC ANDERSON – Bumped on jumping.
 
HOLY HOLY HOLY – Shifted out on jumping bumping with CRYPTOLOGY. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RISKY INVESTMENT – Raced wide throughout.
 
BUZ FUZ – Began awkwardly then shifted in bumping with MAGIC ANDERSON. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
FORTUNAS GIRL – Shifted out abruptly on jumping bumping with HEZA ROMEO, losing ground.
 
PITLECO LASS – Began awkwardly.
