RACE 1: VALE MEL GODDARD BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
GETTY – Fractious during its preliminary dislodging apprentice M. Goring giving him a seemingly harmless fall other than minor soreness to his left thumb. Apprentice Goring declined medical attention. Trainer T. Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s parading manners. Began awkwardly.
 
VONK – Shifted in at the start bumping HOLLERLOUD.
 
HOLLERLOUD – Bumped on jumping.
 
MAGIC ANDERSON – Began awkwardly.
 
RACE 2: HV POWER COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
SHE SMASHES – Blundered on jumping causing apprentice J. Miller to be momentarily unbalanced and as a result lost ground. Apprentice Miller advised stewards the mare put in an awkward stride near the 600 metres.  
 
SURFERS ROYALE – Apprentice W. Galloway advised stewards the gelding tended to hang out for the majority of the race. Laid out under pressure brushing REVOLT for a short distance leaving the 200 metres.
 
REVOLT – Brushed for a short distance leaving the 200 metres.
 
RACE 3: AAA VET CLINIC BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1450 Metres
 
THE WELLIAN – Slow into stride. Apprentice M. Goring was reprimanded in that he was unable to take advantage of his full claim. Stewards noted apprentice Goring’s recent riding and traveling along with the late riding engagement in considering the matter.      
 
HOWSE – Lost its off-front plate during running.
 
RACE 4: HV POWER COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1450 Metres
 
SHOALWATER BAY – As no other rider was available apprentice J. Miller was permitted to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight of 56kg.
 
ZEPHIRINE – Shifted in at the start tightening CONTEMPORARY.
 
CONTEMPORARY – Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room between SHOALWATER BAY and ZEPHIRINE which shifted out on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to explain the performance today, apprentice M. Goring stated that in his opinion CONTEMPORARY, which was having its first start on this track, did not run a solid 1450 metres and further added that the heavy impost of weight today was also a telling factor. Stewards noted his explanation.   
 
DOLLARS – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.      
 
RACE 5: HV POWER LORD DERBY STAKES QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 Metres
 
BONDI PROPHET – Slow into stride.
 
CRYPTOLOGY – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 
BUZ FUZ – Raced wide for the majority.

The following runners were all declared late scratching’s at 1.00pm due to no riders being available. Race 1 – DANCE WIZZARD, XINGXING, LILII BOREA and I’M OPINIONATED. Race 3 – PULIGNY. Race 4 – HANG FIVE. Race 5 – MAKEMINEMILO, RED CODE and FORTUNAS GIRL.
