General: As I Coombes was not riding at the meeting due to injury, stewards permitted the following rider changes: Race 1 D Green (MARREW MIA); Race 2 D Green (MAFIA PRINCESS); Race 3 D McIntosh (LAKI LAKI); Race 4 M O Brien (SOCIAL DELIGHT).
RACE 1: CLASS 1HDCP 800 Metres
HARMON – hampered by another runner a short distance after the start.
SWISH WISH – raced wide throughout the event.
EMPRESS AYLEAH – shortly after the start shifted out and hampered another runner.
SHINZO MASHURANBO – Rider reported at scale the gelding was inclined to lay out rounding the hometurn and in the early part of the home straight. App H Phillips reprimanded for failing to produce winning rides book. Stewards accepted App Phillip’s explanation for failing to claim down to her minimum riding weight.
COL’S PRIDE – having first race start was slow to begin.
RACE 2: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 1000 Metres
IGNEOUS – shortly after the start bumped and taken inwards resulting in a runner to the inside being hampered. Rounding the hometurn contacted by another runner. Near the 100 metres was hampered when rider obliged to steady away from heels of LATIN AMERICAN.
LATIN AMERICAN – shifted out and brushed another runner rounding the hometurn. Near the 100 metres shifted out under pressure and hampered IGNEOUS. Rider app J Worley was reprimanded for carelessness under AR137(a) and advised to stop riding and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances.
MOSSANAY – tightened between runners at the start.
MAFIA PRINCESS – contacted by another runner at the start and taken inwards.
SAVANNAH GOLD – Trainer B Gill was fined $50 for failing to produce the document of description card for the mare. Raced wide throughout the event.
MISS TYPIN – hampered shortly after the start.
NAVY CHIC – bumped by another runner a short distance after the start and taken in.
RACE 3: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1200 Metres
CLIFFORD – crowded by another runner and raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving 200 metres.
LAKI LAKI – jumped inwards at the start and checked another runner. Improved onto heels of runners near 700 metres. Held up for clear running rounding the hometurn.
SWEET AND SAVAGE – As B Evans was to be overweight he was replaced by D Green. B Evans was fined the sum of $100. Shifted in and crowded another runner for a short distance leaving the 200 metres.
FAYEZ – checked at the start and lost ground.
MYSTIC MEDUSA – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
RACE 4: MAIDEN HDCP 1200 Metres
TAKE NO NOTICE – began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and lost significant ground.
SHOT OF HAPPINESS – raced wide for majority of event.
CARBONENDI – barrier slow to open resulting in filly settling back further in field than anticipated. Improved onto heels of runners near 700 metres. A post race vet inspection revealed abrasions to the off hind fetlock.
MONSCHAPELLE – Fractious proceeding to barriers resulting in rider being dislodged. App I Rabjones cleared fit to ride by Club medical staff on arrival at barriers. Trainer B Smith advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s pre-race manners. Shifted ground rounding hometurn taking another runner wider on track.
SAINT BARNEY – Steadied rounding hometurn when improved onto heels of a tiring runner.
SOCIAL DELIGHT – A post race Vet examination of the mare revealed a slower than normal recovery rate.
MR SEDUCTION – raced wide for majority of event. Taken wider by another runner rounding hometurn.
RACE 5: CLASS B HDCP 1600 Metres
BINGO MAGIC – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance app S Palmer stated the gelding was not suited to the fast early pace of the race and in his opinion is better suited when able to take up a position without being pressured. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered.
EDE FUSE – bumped at start. Rounding first turn at 1300 metres raced ungenerously when pace steadied, shifted out and lost ground. A short distance later passing 1200metres shifted out across heels of another runner when being restrained. A post race vet examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormality.
LATARNO – After racing in a forward position tired over the final 500 metres. A post race Vet examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer G Richardson indicated it was the intention of connections to retire the mare, however was advised if these circumstances were to change LATARNO would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
