Race 1 – Three Way Photos Class B Handicap 800m
The start of this race was delayed due to multiple horses requiring leads to the barriers.
COALBANK CAVIAR – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
LOGSPLITTER – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
CRAIGLEA SOPHIE – Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mares pre-race manners. Raced three wide for the majority. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
TARGETS – Raced three wide throughout.
Race 2 – Star Tyrepower Kingaroy Maiden Plate 1000m
The start of this race was delayed when OUTBACK CHAMP was reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings pre-race manners.
OUTBACK CHAMP – Shifted in at the start and bumped TELLHIMHESDREAMING. Raced three wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted outwards.
SHEQER CROI – Began awkwardly when the outside barrier partition swung back making slight contact with the mares shoulder. Raced wide for the majority. Forced wider on the home turn.
EXCEEDINGLY BRAVE – Slow into stride. Forced wider on the home turn.
BEGIN – Raced wide throughout.
Race 3 – St Marys Catholic College Class 2 Plate 1000m
Prior to the start of this race the barriers were tested and deemed to be in satisfactory working order.
SIOUXSIE – Bumped at the start.
CHAMBERLAIN – Began awkwardly, shifted in bumping SIOUXSIE before shifting out and hampering WRITTEN GUARANTEE. Shortly after the winning post, veered outwards abruptly and proved difficult to ride. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
WRITTEN GUARANTEE – Hampered at the start.
BRAD THE LAD – Raced three wide throughout.
Race 4 – Star Motel Nanango Benchmark 65 Handicap 1200m
HELLAVA BABE – Near the 600m was obliged to steady from the heels of PRETTY SONG when attempting to improve to its outside. Hung out under pressure over the final 100m.
Race 5 – Heritage Nanango Benchmark 55 Handicap 1600m
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of fifth place-getter (AIRPORT) to view the patrol footage in lieu of a possible objection. Once satisfied correct weight was declared on the judges numbers.
CRAIGLEA SIMMO – Slow into stride.
BENZ EXPRESS – Steadied near the 600m when attempting to take a run to the inside of WAVERLEY HEIGHTS which shifted in marginally.
CARD TRICKS – Slow to begin.
GHETTO BOY – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
AIRPORT – Bumped at the start. Put in an awkward stride leaving the 100m. Jockey R. Faehr reported that the gelding was tiring badly in the concluding stages and was reluctant to put added pressure on his mount. Stewards whilst noting the explanation by Jockey R. Faehr also reminded him of his obligation to fully test his mounts to the finish.
WAVERLEY HEIGHTS – Raced wide in the early stages.
