GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweight for today’s meeting:
Race 5: C Taylor – MASTER DRUMMER = +1kg (56kg)
 
DAULAT ULTI MAIORA in race 5 was declared a late scratching by Stewards at 10.09am due to no available rider.
 
Stewards accepted the explanations of trainers with regards to the late declaration of riders at today’s meeting.
 
Race 1: BECHLYS TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
MOLLY GOLIGHTLY – Hung in during the early stages. Shifted wider passing the 600m and commenced to hang out until entering the home straight.
 
CONFIRM NOR DENY – Inconvenienced on jumping when LAST LAUGH jumped inwards. Inclined to lay in down the home straight.
 
CRUISING BILL – Inconvenienced on jumping when JAIN jumped outwards. Hung in when shifting out to obtain clear running passing the 350m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BEATLEMANIA - Jockey P Hamblin pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR211(1) in that he returned to scale in excess of 0.5kg overweight. Jockey Hamblin received a reprimand for this incident. When considering a penalty, Stewards considered Jockey Hamblin’s good record regarding this rule and the shortage of jockeys available to ride at today’s meeting.
 
CANNY BOY – Raced wide throughout.
 
JAIN – Jumped out at the start. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
LAST LAUGH – Jumped in at the start and inconvenienced CONFIRM NOR DENY.
 
LIVELY LASS – Obliged to check and lost ground at the start after being inconvenienced on jumping.
 
Race 2: HERITAGE BANK NANANGO OPEN PLATE 1000 Metres

HARD LANDING – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ICED – Restrained passing the 800m to obtain cover behind the leaders.
 
OLD SCHOOL – Slow into stride after the start. Apprentice J Baker reported that OLD SCHOOL, after being slow into stride, resented the early kickback from today’s racing surface and in his opinion the mare would derive some fitness benefit from the run and would be suited to a race over a further distance. Apprentice Baker accidently dropped his whip passing the 80m mark.
 
Race 3: PURSERS BUSES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights 1200 Metres

MORE THAN XTRA – Jockey C Meehan reported that the gelding raced greenly throughout the event.
 
ICEY – Over raced in the early stages. Commenced to hang out passing the 500m until entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
HONEY QUEEN – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start and was obliged to steady. Began to over race from the 1000m until passing the 800m.
 
Race 4: NANANGO COUNTRY VETERINARY SERVICE BURNETT TO THE BEACH SERIES - BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 Metres

MASTERPLAN – Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
FROSTY BEAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Shifted in under pressure passing the 200m before being straightened by its rider.
 
ANNAKURI – Jockey C Meehan was momentarily disadvantaged after the start when he lost his offside iron on jumping. Jockey Meehan was able to regain the iron a short distance after losing it.
 
BRIGHT REALM – Apprentice J Baker reported that BRIGHT REALM felt flat and proved to be disappointing in today’s event.
 
VIZONE – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping. Shifted out passing the 200m and bumped RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS. Jockey C Taylor reported that after making contact with RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS, VIZONE became unbalanced and was unable to be fully tested for the remainder of the event.
 
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages. Bumped by VIZONE passing the 200m.
 
KIRELLA SHORES – Held up for clear running entering the home straight.
 
Race 5:CONGRATULATIONS NEW S.B.R.C. MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 Metres
 
JAKKALBERRY FINN – Prior to the winning post, Apprentice J McGrath became unbalanced and 100m passed the winning post fell from her mount. Apprentice McGrath was treated by on course QAS officers and transported to hospital for further medical treatment. Evidence has been taken from witnesses of this incident and further evidence will be obtained from Apprentice McGrath at a later date.
 
ELIZANO – Slow to begin.
 
CLEARLY GEORGE – Apprentice L Sykes reported that as CLEARLY GEORGE travelled well in the early stage of the race, he elected to let the gelding stride forward and settle in a more forward position than expected.
 
DOUBLE BARRELL – Slow to begin.
 
MASTER DRUMER – On arrival at the barriers, underwent a resaddle after a request from the rider.
