WILD DUST Slow to begin, then inconvenienced when THE HINDUSTAN (NZ) shifted in. Jockey M Kennedy reported that WILD DUST was slow to muster speed after being inconvenienced at the start and then in her opinion may not have handled today’s track conditions.

NOT HAPPENING Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Jockey N Morton reported on return to scales that NOT HAPPENING was inclined to shift ground when tiring in the home straight.

RACE 5: MARTOO MILE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1600 M

YOSEMITE FALLS Raced ungenerously and shifted out abruptly after the start. Raced uncompetitively and finished a significant distance behind the field. On pulling up, YOSEMITE FALLS became reluctant to return back to the mounting enclosure and apprentice K Johnston opted to dismount to allow the clerk of the course to lead the mare back to the mounting enclosure. Due to apprentice K Johnston being escorted back by a track car, YOSEMITE FALLS being taken straight back to the tie up stalls and the saddle taken off prior to apprentice Johnston returning, this resulted in her not being able to weigh in. Stewards acting under AR 208(3)(b) Were satisfied that YOSEMITE FALLS carried its correct weight during the race, correct weight was declared on the judges’ numbers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer V Heading was advised YOSEMITE FALLS would now be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to accepting for a future race.

KIRELLA SHORES Over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

DOONA Tightened on jumping away. Hung out rounding the first turn.
