Race 1: LES & THELMA PEDERSEN MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres
YONAKA – Raced wide for the majority.
CATORI LASS – Raced wide throughout.
BARRYTHEBARBARIC – Commenced to buck near the 900m for some distance and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Taylor was advised that the gelding must barrier trial prior to racing again.
CHANTILLY QUEEN – Trainer J. Hancock was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
MILK OF HERA – Very slow to begin. Inconvenienced and had to be steadied near the 900m when BARRYTHEBARBARIC bucked. Underwent a post race veterinary inspection which revealed a small laceration to the off hind leg.
Race 2: NANANGO MEDICAL CENTRE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
DIAMOND MONEY – Severely hampered on jumping when STOP THE ROT shifted out abruptly.
BRAIDWOOD PRINCE – Apprentice S. Tierney reported that her mount never travelled comfortably throughout and in her opinion is better suited to sand tracks. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ABOVE THE WORLD – Severely hampered on jumping and lost considerable ground
COSMIC PROPORTIONS – Rider N. Morton reported her mount was inclined to lay in throughout,
THROW ONE IN – Laid out rounding the home turn forcing TINKERTINO wider. Apprentice S. Robbins reported that her mount was inclined to lay out throughout.
STOP THE ROT – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg. Trainer J. Hanna was advised that STOP THE ROT will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
TINKERTINO – Raced wide throughout. Forced wider when THROW ONE IN laid out rounding the home turn.
Race 3: NANANGO MEDICAL CENTRE OPEN PLATE 1000 Metres
JACK BE LUCKY – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
GALLERY MASTER – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after arriving late on course due to a transport breakdown and cleared to start.
HUSS ON FIRST – Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs. Trainer P. Minter was advised that HUSS ON FIRST will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
SILVER GLITTER – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers after blundering on entering the track and was cleared to start. Very slow to begin.
Race 4: NANANGO SERVICES CLUB BURNETT TO THE BEACH – FINAL – BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
WAR TOO ALL – Raced three wide throughout. Apprentice S. Bailey reported that the mare is better suited when able to dictate from an on pace position.
NINE CIGARS – Eased down in the home straight when rider C. Taylor had concerns with the gelding’s action. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B. Gill advised that it was his intention to now send the gelding for a spell.
REEBAR – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after heavily contacting the mounting enclosure fence and was cleared to start.
I’M A CHOCOHOLIC – Raced wide for the majority.
Race 5: ALPINE EDGE QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
HOTFOOT PERFORMER – Blundered on jumping. Bumped with BLACK COUNTRY approaching the 1200m when that runner was racing fiercely.
CABO CASANOVA – Shifted out on jumping and bumped BLACK COUNTRY.
HALF MOON ROO – Bumped on jumping. Over raced during the middle stages.
LIPSTICK LIES – Raced wide in the middle stages.
BLACK COUNTRY – Bumped on jumping. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Bumped with HOTFOOT PERFORMER approaching the 1200m when rider K. Gates attempted to restrain the gelding.
SHACKAMAXON – Had to be eased when racing in restricted room passing the 1300m. Apprentice B. Baker stated that after she was required to steady the mare in the early stages, SHACKAMAXON relaxed more than she anticipated and after viewing the patrol footage agreed that she had erred in her judgement and in hindsight, should have pressured SHACKMAXON to hold her position midfield than allowing the mare to drift back to a trailing position in the middle stages.
GOIN’ SKITZ – A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the left hindleg consistent with being galloped on.
