GENERAL
 
Due to Queensland Government Covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following Jockeys to ride overweight on their respective mounts:
 
Race 2- J Babarovich +1kg
Race 3- J Babarovich +1kg
 
 
Jockey J Babarovich was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR232 for failing to notify Stewards of his intention to ride overweight by the directed time.
 
 
Stewards accepted the reasons given by Trainers T Parry, S Royes, D Amos and G Hickmott for the late declaration of riders on their respective runners.
 
 
 
Race 1: WILSON RYAN GROSE LAWYERS/SPAR CUPERMARKET QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
SCURR MOR- Having raced on the 12/08/2021 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
EMMA ROCKET- As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey R McMahon to ride the mare 3.5kg over its allocated weight.
 
EL RANCHOS- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MR TYCOON- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISS BELLERENTE- Performed below market expectations. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
 
 
Race 2: WESTERN & ROYAL HOTELS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m
 
HAYYLER’S TARY- Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping tightening another tightening another runner.
 
BACCHUR- Began awkwardly and shifted in tightening another runner. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DREAM THE DAY AWAY- Was tightened between runners on jumping and obliged to steady before clipping heels and blundering. Raced wide the majority.
 
LITTLE SPOON- Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
NIGHT ATTIRE- On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost a near fore plate in running.
 
 
 
Race 3: DR CATHY RETO/ MACLEAN PARTNERS ACCOUNTANTS CLASS B HANDICAP 1400m
 
DEVILS NUMBER- As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey R McMahon to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allocated weight. Jockey R McMahon was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
TICKET KEEPER- Having raced on the 14/08/2021 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
NEW YORK POET- Dwelt in the barrier before beginning awkwardly.
 
SUPREME PRINCE- Raced wide for the majority.
 
RED RED ROSE- Raced wide for the majority.
 
BRAHMINY- Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off front. Trainer K Krogh will be advised a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to the gelding being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
 
Race 4: PRAIRIE SERVICES/ FOODWORKS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000m
 
MISS ELLEY- As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey R McMahon to ride the mare 1kg over its allocated weight. Jockey R McMahon was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
DOLLARDREAM- Having raced on the 12/08/2021 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
SILENTUS- Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
LIVELY LASS- Raced wide for the majority.
 
ZORRO FEMININO- Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHADFORTH LASS- Hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer S Latham was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners as a result.
 
Following the running of this event Jockey K Ballard stood himself down from his remaining engagement due to illness. Rider replacements were made as per Steward’s race day summary. Jockey Ballard was advised he would require a medical certificate of fitness prior to being permitted to race ride again.
 
 
 
Race 5: WIND LAB/S.S. REDDIE EARTHMOVING/BRI RITE HUGHENDEN PRAIRIE CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400m
 
SOVIET- Having raced on the 12/08/2021 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Stood flat footed as the start was effected. Trainer K Krogh was advised a warning would be paced on the gelding as a result. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC- Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
IMMUTABLE- Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to momentarily steady to avoid heels before shifting in and obtaining clear running.
