SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Rockhampton, Saturday 3rd January 2015:

Trainer N. Mannion reported that TERMS OF TRADE had sustained a laceration to its forehead.

Race 1: XXXX Gold 2YO Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st LEGAL PROCEDURE 2nd ALWAYS DOUBLE 3rd CRAIGLEA DIAMOND 4th - CRAIGLEA ALDI

LEGAL PROCEDURE - Was a little slow to begin. Had to be eased from heels at approximately the 400 metres. Near the 200 metres commenced to race greenly and shifted ground.

CRAIGLEA ALDI - Began awkwardly and shifted out. Approaching the 600 metres laid out and had to be steadied from heels. At approximately the 400 metres shifted out and bumped another runner.

BETTY ISABEL - Bumped at approximately the 400 metres. LEGAL PROCEDURE, which was following had to be eased from heels.

CRAIGLEA THUNDER - Was held up for clear running near the 500 metres and at the 400 metres bumped another runner. When unable to obtain clear running near the 200 metres shifted out and bumped another runner.

CRAIGLEA WISE - Bumped another runner near the 400 metres. Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Bacardi Oakheart F&M Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st AVELLINO 2nd SAMARAH GIRL 3rd JEDDA'S GIRL 4th - MISS HOFFA

SAMARAH GIRL - Began awkwardly.

MISS HOFFA - Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

PINK DAZE - Was slow into stride.

INFINITE MISS- Was slow into stride.

PEEARN - Laid in for a short distance near the 700 metres and had to be eased from the heels of another runner.

Race 3: Toohey’s Extra Dry C&G Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st MAGIC DECISION 2nd KOKO CLANG 3rd SOMEPLACE 4th - LITTLE MOUNTAIN

KOKO CLANG- Contact with another runner on jumping.

ON THE WICKET - Made contact on jumping, taken out slightly near the 900 metres.

MR KILCOY - Shortly after the start shifted out, taking SOMEPLACE out onto MURTASKILL, which bumped another runner. Near the 900 metres was taken out across the heels of MAGIC DECISION, which shifted in marginally. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.

KOKO CLANG - Near the 900 metres shifted out marginally when eased from heels, taking ON THE WICKET out onto GOIN' FOR BROKE.

GOIN' FOR BROKE - Bumped near the 900 metres. Raced wide throughout.

MAGIC DECISION - Shifted in marginally near the 900 metres.

SOMEPLACE – Jumped out at the start taking another runner out onto LITTLE MOUNTAIN. Held up and unable to obtain clear running in the early stages of the straight, shifted out under pressure at the 200 metres.

FASTNET STORM - Near the 200 metres shifted out away from heels.

LITTLE MOUNTAIN - Bumped at the start.

PEGUNNY BASIL - Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Hahn 3.5 F&M Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st PRIMED FOR DESTINY 2nd SERENE PEARL 3rd EKKAREEZA 4th - EXSTRATUM

SERENE PEARL - On jumping was buffeted between runners. Had to be eased from heels near the 400 metres.

VICORAY - On arrival behind the barriers the mare was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon, who reported that the horse had blood in its mouth, however was cleared to take its place in the field. Shortly after the start commenced to lay outwards and near the 900 metres continued to lay out and lost ground. Again near the 400 metres laid out, taking DORSAL FIN out onto MANDALONG CATATAC, resulting in SERENE PEARL having to ease to avoid heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare was sore in the off fore fetlock from a suspected sesamoid injury. Trainer V. Vagg reported that the mare may now be retired. A veterinary certificate would be required if the mare return to racing. Mr Vagg was reprimanded for removing the horse from the course prior to the prescribed time.

DORSAL FIN - Taken outwards near the 400 metres.

OUR MAGIC MADGE - Approaching the home turn and on straightening hung out, and continued to do so in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any disabilities. Raced wide throughout. Trainer B. Dixon was advised that the mare must perform satisfactorily in a jump-out prior to being permitted to race again.

NORDIC STORY - Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Hahn Super Dry C&G Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st WHAT'S UP SNIP 2nd OUTBACK SAPPER 3rd FORBARREL 4th - ZAHA DREAM

Jockey M. Hellyer was reprimanded for taking dual engagements, for OUTBACK SAPPER and STAMPEDE STRAP. Jockey C. McIver was substituted as the rider of STAMPEDE STRAP.

STRIKE ZONE - The gelding was fractious in the tie-up stalls, and dislodged both hind plates, which were unable to be replaced. Permission was granted for the gelding to race bare behind. Raced wide from the 900 metres.

PRICELESS HEART - Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

OUTBACK SAPPER - At the 900 metres commenced to over-race, then in the middle stages raced in restricted room and had to be steadied.

WOLF HUNTER - Laid out under pressure at the 400 metres.

WENTWELL - Raced wide throughout.

STAMPEDE STRAP - A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections indicated that the gelding may be sent for a spell.

Race 6: XXXX Bitter Class 6 Plate - 1050 metres
1st - TOUCH 'N' GO 2nd - EMPEROR 3rd - SHEPIKTUS 4th - CHIAROSCURO

SHEPIKTUS - A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections indicated that the gelding may be sent for a spell.

TOUCH 'N' GO - Made contact with another runner on jumping.

SNITZEM - Made contact with another runner on jumping. Rider App. Williams was reprimanded for using her whip on one more occasion than is permitted, and also for using the whip in consecutive strides.

CARMINE KING - Rider reprimanded under A.R. 142 for failing to weigh in for 5th. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey M. Powell said that he was satisfied with the performance. He said that he was instructed to take up a position back in the field from its wide barrier draw, bearing in mind the expected pace of runners drawn to his inside. He added that after making ground in the home straight, near the 200 metres he attempted a run to the inside of EMPEROR, which rolled in, therefore he shifted his mount to the outside, however his mount was not travelling well enough to obtain a run forward between SHEPIKTUS and CHIAROSCURO and went to the line without being fully tested.

MANCHEBO - Raced wide throughout.

NOBODY'S BOY – Approaching the 600 metres improved to the inside of another runner, raced in restricted room and lost some ground.

CHIAROSCURO - Rider dropped his whip near the 200 metres.

Race 7: Summer Bright Class 3 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - PRINCE DAN 2nd - FINNIGAN’S FOLLY 3rd - BORN TO SURVIVE 4th - OUTBACK LIGHTNING

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer M. Hassam for the late declaration of M. Powell as the rider of OUTBACK LIGHTNING.

GREAT DANSAAR - At the time for acceptances App. M. Mcgillivray was unable to claim down to his riding weight. App. Fawke was substituted. Bumped at the start and lost some ground.

EMIRATES ART - At the start shifted out onto another runner.

HIGH CHANCELLOR - Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 600 metres had to be restrained from the heels of another runner, and continued to race keenly in the early part of the home straight and was held up for clear running until the 300 metres.

FINNIGAN'S FOLLY - Held up approaching the 400 metres until near the 300 metres, and near the 200 metres lost its off side winker.

STRATEGIC GLORY - Raced wide throughout.

MONBAZILLAC - Was slow into stride. When asked about the performance of the gelding App. Darren Evans stated that he was instructed to take up a position just worse than midfield, if possible. He was of the opinion that the gelding had no early speed and was unsuited by the pace of today's event. App. Evans added that the gelding will be better suited in events over a longer distance, and in the circumstances he was of the view that his mount found the line fairly.
