1st - MANILA ACADEMY 2nd - DIOXIDES 3rd - ABSOLUTELYANYTHING 4th - DE LA DILO
The declaration of correct weight was delayed while Trainer J. Wehlow and Jockey T. O'Hara viewed the patrol films to determine whether to lodge an objection by FORBARREL, ridden by Jockey O'Hara, which finished 5th, against DE LA DILO being declared 4th, alleging interference near the 200 metres. After taking evidence from the parties involved, viewing the official patrol films and taking into account their own observations, stewards established that at the relevant stage of the race shifted ground and forced FORBARREL to be eased momentarily. Protest dismissed and correct weight declared on the judge's placings. Jockey Watson was reprimanded under A.R. 137(a) for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he had.
Jockey G. Watson was found guilty of a charge under A.R.137 (b) in that he failed to ride his mount to the end of the race, which in the opinion of the stewards cost his mount 3rd placing. Jockey Watson was fined $500.

Near the 900 metres bumped with LOOKSLIKERAIN.
HIDDEN CHIEF - At the start buffeted between KHAANTANTES and FERRIGNO on a number of occasions. During the middle stages over-raced and raced three wide.

In the incident ANGELS CROWN made contact with LOOKSLIKERAIN, was taken in and shifted across the heels of FERRIGNO.
