Race 1: Jaime Parnell – 30 Days Of Gratitude QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate - 1050m
SERIOUSTEMPTATION – Dislodged its rider en route to the barriers on a number of occasions and as a result had to be resaddled. Trainer Mr J. Pointon was advised that SERIOUSTEMPTATION would be required to trial to the stewards’ satisfaction prior to a future race start. Slow to begin. Raced green in the early stages.
SILVER LUCY - Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with the outside partition of the barriers and as a result was slow to begin. Jockey D. Simmons was examined by the on-course paramedics following the running of Race 1 and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
AUSSIE HERO – In the vicinity of the 900m became awkwardly placed on the heels of PARA PARK when attempting to find cover. Raced wide without cover throughout.
EVIE’S LASS – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Rider M. Gray pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 14 times prior to the 100m, 21 times in total. Jockey Gray was fined $200. In determining penalty, stewards took into account this being jockey Gray’s first breach of this rule in the past 12 months.
IMALI – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
QUEEN OF STYLE – Raced green when placed under pressure in the straight.
PARA PARK – Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.
BITTERGREYMAGIC – A post race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the near foreleg.
Race 2: Aspinall Racing Open H’cap – 1050m
MAMSELLE CORDAY – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and was obliged to steady in the vicinity of the 800m when improving onto heels.
MARBEL DUKE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
Race 3: Sensational Parties Maiden H’cap – 1400m
NORTHERN INSTINCT – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout.
LONROADTOFLY – Was hampered on jumping away.
LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
PIRELLI – Raced wide in the early stages. Was able to find cover in the vicinity of the 800m. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RAPID ASCENT – Overraced in the early and middle stages, and in the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to the heels of KING KAI.
KING KAI – Held up for clear running on entering the straight until the vicinity of the 300m and was obliged to shift out in an attempt to improve. When questioned regarding the options available to rider N. Thomas in the home straight, jockey Thomas stated that his mount was reluctant to improve into a narrow run in the vicinity of the 300m between WHAT A THOUGHT and PIRELLI and as a result elected to shift out in an attempt to find clear running. He added once gaining clear running room his mount had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 4: Milner Constructions Pty Ltd Class 1 H’cap – 1100m
KING AL FONSO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
DUAN PHOENIX – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.
FAY ELEMENT – Was severely hampered on jumping away. Lost its near fore plate during the event.
SLAYDEM – Jumped away awkwardly, shifting in abruptly.
BONNY’S TREASURE – In the vicinity of the 700m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SLAYDEM, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey L. Tillley, rider of SLAYDEM, was reprimanded.
Race 5: Caught In The Act Photography – Matt Harris QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m
ESPEREUS – Was hampered on jumping away. Blundered shortly after the start.
GIRRAH LASS – Jumped away awkwardly.
PEONY ROSE – Overraced in the early stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
ZIGGI ROCKS – Was held up for clear running on entering the home straight, and in the vicinity of the 400m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of GIRRAH LASS.
LLANO – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
SIR SKYWALKER – In the vicinity of the 200m was momentarily inconvenienced and obliged to shift in to avoid the heels of POINT THE WAGON, which shifted out. Raced wide without cover throughout.
POINT THE WAGON – Hung out under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage over the concluding stages, and dipped approaching the winning post. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
THE GIRL IS WILD – Raced wide without cover throughout.
FRENCH OCEAN – Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: Southern Cross Austero Class 6 Plate – 1300m
GUISSOLA – Required replating behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Hampered on jumping away.
MARWAY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
UTHRED – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LUCIFER’S ANGEL – When questioned regarding the performance of LUCIFER’S ANGEL jockey stated that his mount travelled well in the early stages but when placed under pressure from the vicinity of the 600m began to weaken noticeably. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer D. Schultz was advised that LUCIFER’S ANGEL, which performed poorly, beaten 29 lengths, would be barred to non-TAB venues until it established improved form.
Race 7: Rum City Foods Class 2 Plate – 1400m
NORTHERN DRAGON –Overraced in the early and middle stages.
GLADISHING – Slow to begin.
LEGAL ASSET – Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 300m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of WHOOSH, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey M. Barnham, rider of WHOOSH, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 6 days, to commence at midnight, 30 November and to expire at midnight, Friday, 6 December. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Barnham’s guilty plea and excellent riding record.
MISS SMINKER – Jumped away awkwardly. Rider accidentally dropped his whip in the vicinity of the 100m.
WHOOSH – Held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 600m to approaching the 300m and had to shift in in an attempt to improve into clear running.
TONTEIN – Overraced in the middle stages.
SECRET SITES – Rider L. Tilley reported his saddle slipped back in the vicinity of the 200m, placing him at a disadvantage over the concluding stages.
ARJAYCEE – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
