Race 1: Patlaw Securities Kids Christmas At The Races QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1100m
 
AMOREM – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with the inside barrier partition.  Rider M. McGillivray reported his mount raced greenly throughout the event.  A post race veterinary examination  failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
PARA PARK – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
DACXI BUBBLES – Was slow to begin.
 
QUEEN OF STYLE – In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of  POINTO’S PICK, which shifted in abruptly.
 
POINTO’S PICK – In the vicinity of the 1000m shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of itrs rider, clipping the heels of AMOREM and as a result blundered.  In the vicinity of the 700m became awkwardly placed at the heels of AMOREM and had to be steadied. In the vicinity of the 400m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of AMOREM and had to be shifted out. Continued to hang in for the remainder of the straight.  Trainer Mr J. Pointon was advised that POINTO’S PICK would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to a future race start.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
FINAL CRIME – Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 400m was momentarily inconvenienced by POINTO’S PICK, which was racing greenly.
 
 
Race 2: LJ Hooker Rockhampton Maiden Plate – 1200m xm
 
PRINCE NUTCRACKER – As jockey M. Barnham was to be overweight, jockey C. Whiteley was the replacement rider for the gelding.  Jockey Barnham was fined $100.  Overraced in the  early and middle stages and raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
JOE ALBERT – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TRUST ISSUES – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
CENTAUR – Was hampered shortly after jumping away.
 
HUGS ‘N’ KISSES – Held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 400m until inside the 300m.
 
MISS STAR – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
TERRAJA – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
WIDE LOAD – Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
STUBAI – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Wiggins stated his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight and, in his opinion, would benefit with the application of blinkers next start.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
VOK’S THE ONE – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey M. Stephens stated his mount failed to respond to his riding at any stage of the event and weakened noticeably under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.   Trainer L. Clem was advised that VOK’S THE ONE would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to future race starts.
 
Following this race at 2.27 pm the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
 
 
Race 3: Crazy Jokers Kids Fashions On The Field QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1200m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow jockey D. Simmons, rider of MALVAGIO, to view the official films to ascertain if his mount had been denied a fair start. After viewing the films a submission was made to declare MALVAGIO   a non-runner due to being held by the barrier attendant on jumping away. Stewards agreed that on jumping away the barrier attendant had hold of the bridle of MALVAGIO , denying the gelding a fair start, and as such declared the horse a non-runner with the following deductions applicable.
 
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets
6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
1 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
6 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Correct weight was also delayed when jockey L. Tilley, rider of LLANO, requested to view the patrol film in the straight to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge a protest. Subsequently jockey Tilley declined to lodge a protest.
 
THREE STRIPES – In the vicinity of the 100m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, carrying MARRON CHEVAL in on to LLANO, which in turn was carried in on to KEPTINTHEDARK, which was hampered, making contact with the running rail.
 
TYCOON FLYER – In the vicinity of the 1100m had to be checked to avoid the heels of KEPTINTHEDARK, which was carried in by MARRON CHEVAL, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Jockey N. Day, rider of MARRON CHEVAL, was reminded of his obligations in similar circumstances to be fully clear when shifting ground.  In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
RED SATIN – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
MARRON CHEVAL – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in in the early stages. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
KEPTINTHEDARK – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early  and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 1100m had to be restrained after improving onto heels.  In the vicinity of the 100m was hampered and made contact with the running rail  by LLANO, which was carried in by MARRON CHEVAL, which was carried in by THREE STRIPES,  which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
TALES OF EPSILON – In the vicinity of the 1100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of TYCOON FLYER. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied after improving on to heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
SHE’S MAGANDA - In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
LLANO – In the vicinity of the 100m was inconvenienced by MARRON CHEVAL, which was carried in by THREE STRIPES.
 
 
Race 4: LJ Hooker Rockhampton Class 4 H’cap - 1100m
 
ALL EEZ – Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn.
 
CASH STRAPPED – In the vicinity of the 800m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of TEN TAUBADA’S.
 
ELEGANT ZOUS – In the vicinity of the 1000 had to be steadied after improving on to heels. Overraced in the early and middle stages. 
 
TIME OUT – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
TYRANNIZE – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
 
Race 5: Grace Veterinary Clinic Magic Millions Country Club Qualifier Open H’cap – 1100m
 
BARACHIEL – Slow to begin.
 
PALLADIAN – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the vicinity of the 300m to inside the 200m. 
 
ZUKAZ – Knuckled on jumping away and was hampered shortly after the start.
 
MASTER JAMIE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
REGAZZO DEL CORSA – Laid in in the early stages of the event.
 
 
Race 6: Merry Christmas From The RJC Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1400m
 
MAGIC WU – Slow to begin. Was held up for clear running in the vicinity of the 300m and was obliged to shift in in an attempt to improve into clear running. Held up over the concluding stages and raced in restricted room between MISHNAH and HELLUVA HOFFA and was inconvenienced when being struck with the whip of HELLUVA HOFFA on 3 occasions over the concluding stages.
 
MISHNAH – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
HOWICK – Was slow into stride.
 
SHENRON Overraced in the middle stages.
 
GYPSY BIKER – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
COMMANDER’S WATCH – Trainer Mr Jim Lewis was advised that the horse would be restricted to non-TAB venues exclusively until it establishes form at non-TAB venues.
 
 
Race 7: Summer Racing – Saturday 28 December Class 1 H’cap – 1200m
 
GAMBLER’S SON – Was slow to begin and was awkward in its stride throughout the race. Weakened noticeably under pressure over the concluding stages.  A post race veterinary examination found the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg.  Trainer C Smith was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to any future race start.
 
SECRET SITES – Was held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 400m until inside the 100m, and was obliged to shift in in an attempt to improve into clear running.
 
WHOOSH – Raced in restricted room in the vicinity of the 300m when attempting to improve into a tight run to the inside of CLEAR THE DECK.
 
ARJAYCEE – Raced wide throughout.
 
BUB’S GOLD – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
