SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Race 2 Rockhampton 27th February 2021
Raiden – Trainer J Manzelmann reported that Raiden had pulled up well and intended to continue on with the gelding’s current preparation. He added that Raiden may not have appreciated the firm track surface.
 
 
Race 1: XXXX GOLD QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1050 metres
 
PARKBURN – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
BEAN DEADLY – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider B Appo was reprimanded under AR132(6)(b) for using his whip in an action that raises his arm above shoulder height.
 
SHESAYSTHANKS – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 2: ST PATRICK'S CLUB RACEDAY - SATURDAY 13 MARCH Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
MORATA – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that his saddle shifted back approaching the 700m placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
 
REFUTATION – Slow to begin. Failed to muster early gate speed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer P Pengelly was advised a warning would be placed on the record of the gelding in relation to its competitiveness.
 
SHEZROYAL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout the event.

THE GIRL IS WILD - Raced wide throughout the event. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, Jockey B Appo stated that his mount weakened noticeably when placed under pressure in the straight and he became concerned with his mounts action of the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer C Dore advised that she would report back on the condition of the mare in the subsequent days including the results of blood work.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 3: 2021 HYGAIN/MITAVITE CAPRICORNIA YEARLING SALE OPEN Handicap 1400 metres
 
HEYINGTON – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
DAUNTING QUEEN – Hampered on jumping away.
 
MACHO TYCOON -Hampered on jumping away. Laid out rounding the home turn. Lost off side winker passing the 400m.
 
GYPSY BIKER – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 4:  RUM CITY FOODS CALCUTTA - THURSDAY 8 APRIL Class 3 Plate 1400 metres
 
STARS DON'T RUST – carried wider on track approaching the 900m and as a result raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
ULTIMATE RING - Slow to begin.
 
SCENT OF FEAR – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
WHAT A THOUGHT – Rider N Day was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
TAKE A SHINE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race or trial.
 
EXELANT MOSH – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 5: BECOME A MEMBER - ONLINE RTON TICKETS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handi 1200 metres
 
MILITARY FORCE – Slow to begin.
 
BONDI BEAU – Laid in under pressure during the early stages of the event.
 
LEGAL CHANCE – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was hampered having its hindquarters turned.
 
CASH GAME – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
PRIVATE BUTTON – Approaching the 1000m had to be restrained after racing in restricted room between CASH GAME and LEGAL CHANCE.
 
BOOTYFUL DIVA – severely hampered on jumping away. Approaching the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of PRIVATE BUTTON which shifted in when insufficiently clear to do so. Apprentice McGillivray plead guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that passing the 900m he allowed his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Apprentice McGillivray had his licence to ride in races suspended for seven (7) days to commence midnight 13 March 2021 and to expire midnight 20 March 2021. Approaching the 600m was eased down and took no further competitive part of the race. Jockey N Thomas stated that he became concerned with the action of BOOTYFUL DIVA and elected to not place the filly under further pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer Mr J Poots was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for any future trial or race.
 
MARINASARA - Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was hampered having its hindquarters turned.
 
SEEING DIAMONDS – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: PIMM'S PARTY - ST PATS RACES Class 6 Handicap 1100 metres
 
MANILA MISS – Approaching the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of LINGALONGA LASS which shifted in when insufficiently clear to do so. Apprentice M. Wishart was reprimanded under the provision of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
 
DREAMING OF BISCAY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ZATORIO - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of LINGALONGA LASS which shifted in when insufficiently clear to do so.
 
 
Race 7: SUNDAY BREAKFAST AT CALLAGHAN PARK BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1050 metres
 
CALCULATED RISK – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
BOUND TO ME – Held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 300m and had to shift out to improve approaching the 200m.
 
JAMAICAN DREAM – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 100m when having to avoid the heels of CALCULATED RISK which shifted in marginally. Apprentice McGillivray, rider of CALCULATED RISK was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.
 
TYRANNIZE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
HINVICTUS – Was declared a late scratching at 5.05pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the tie up stalls. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 5.05pm as following: 
Win Bets I LOVE THIS HIPPY - 4 cents
Place Bets (For Winner) 2 cents
Place Bets (For 2nd) CALCULATED RISK - 5 cents
Place Bets (For 3rd) DIP DYE - 5 cents
All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer W. Weeks was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race or trial.

I LOVE THIS HIPPY – Slow to begin.
 
GOTTHERE – Was declared a late scratching at 8.00am by order of the stewards after Trainer O Cairns failed to scratch by the advertised scratching time. Trainer O Cairns was fined $200 under the provisions of LR68.
 
BAZKIR – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey Sewell stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding on straightening and felt awkward in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Race 8: AB Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
NAVARRE – when questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey A Sewell stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
LAW OFFICE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHEZASHOOTINGSTAR – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and as a result was slow to begin. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised the mare would be required to jump satisfactorily in an official trial prior to accepting for a future race.
 
SILVER LUCY – Commenced to overrace for a number of strides after being crossed passing the 900m.
 
TICKET KEEPER - Was declared a late scratching at 8.00am by order of the stewards after Trainer O Cairns failed to scratch by the advertised scratching time. Trainer O Cairns was fined $200 under the provisions of LR68.
 
NO MORE BIDS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TEZOFF – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages.  Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards intend to inquiry into Jockey C Eaton’s use of the whip in the straight.
