As Jockey B Appo was unable to fulfil his engagement due to suspension, stewards permitted replacements as per the steward’s race day summary.

CHESTER'S ANGEL – Jumped away awkwardly. Carried wider in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

MOONLIT ROSE – Laid out in the early stages of the event. Passing the 250m, dipped and became awkward in its stride.

SHESAYSTHANKS – Jumped away awkwardly.

MAGNETIC DRIVE- Overraced in the early and middle stages.

KOHEETO – Laid in when placed under pressure throughout the event,

Following the running of race 1, stewards and the rider group inspected a section of the track at the 250m after concerns were raised in relation to a wet patch on the racing surface. It was ascertained after consultation with Rockhampton Jockey Club officials that the section was caused by an irrigation issue whereby a sprinkler contacted the running rail causing an isolated wet patch near the 250m. Stewards were of the opinion that the section of track raised serious safety and integrity concerns for riders and horses and after being informed that it was not feasible to shift 600m of running rail, the remainder of the meeting was abandoned at 2.19pm.
